For a start your first 2 sentences here contradict each other. It may well be sad and desperate behaviour but sex dolls have been around for a very long time and I've never heard of a link between sex dolls and sexual crimes. I find it extremely hard to find a connection there.

And secondly, the guy would only be doing to the doll what was already in his head. Would this not be a good why to allow the man to gain release in that way rather than to have it build up inside him to the point where he might commit a sex crime?

If it were just a sex doll, I wouldn't be so disturbed. But some of the men treat the dolls like they were people! Thats wrong, and that why I say it is an issue. When a person says "we'll miss each other" and one is an inanimate object, there is a issue.

Have you seen the show? I have.

Yeah to some of these men they are sex dolls, but when they pose them around their house, dress them in catholic school girl clothing saying it's because he wants "them to be pure" and them starts showing his gun collection, there is issue.

You know one guy pointed this out in a way he said that you couldn't have "companionship with an inanimate object, and that you would have to seek out a person for a relationship. (makes sense...) BUT then there was another younger guy who felt that this was his relationship, and would talk to the doll and treat it like a person. Even said that he "new what to expect from her" and there would be no surprises. He didn't have REAL relationships with "organic life" as he put it.

Don't you see how this mentality could get perverse?

and just because I don't care what others do in there home, doesn't mean that I wouldn't find it pathetic....not a contradiction....

Yes, I actually stayed up last night to watch the show in it's entirety and I also find it disturbing. If they were just sex toys fine, but it is more than that.....

It's all about the norms of society. Not too long ago, homosexuality was paired along side bestiality and pedophilia.

I have a lot of gay people in my family including my grandfather (left my grandmother after having 4 kids). I love for as family and don't think about what they do in private. I compare to morbidly obese people having sex. I know it happens but I don't think about it. I employ similar techniques when I'm with gay family members.

As for the dolls, why are people upset? It's no different than using a sex toy. I don't understand why it's basically fine for a woman to have a vibrator but a man would be called a perv for owning a plastic vagina. On that note, these dolls should be regarded as objects used for entertainment not actual partners.

Well, from what I hear, if these men are dressing these things up, taking them out in public and talking to them, then they're not just sex toys. Sex toys stay hidden in a secret box or drawer. You don't give them a name, show them to people and have a "relationship" with them. Again, people can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't harm anybody else, but it doesn't mean it's not weird.
