My dh had long hair when we met (and married). It was all one length long, not like mullet or shaggy 70s long. It came down to about his mid back and was very well kept - trimmed, no split ends, healthy, thick. But, that was a little more acceptable in the 90s and he was 22 at the time.
Now, he's a growed-up grumpy old man and it would look dumb on him now as a married father of 2. He used to be the kid in the hot rod muscle car that the old people yelled at to slow down - now he's the guy doing the yelling. Literally, yells at the "damn punks" to slow down. It's hilarious. So, yeah, the long hair days are totally gone.
