Lift, Train, Fitness

Another couple of sessions of digging and moving dirt in the wheelbarrow. Each time it does cause my to cough but I see that as a good thing because it allow me to get rid of more gunk out of my lungs.

I need to put an order in with son 3 to bring home more waste newspaper for weed suppression in the new garden bed. I also need to get the edging I am after from Bunnings. I also had a thought today that it may be a good idea to build in a concrete block table at the end of the bed next to the clothes line to sit the washing basket on when hanging clothes (wood is not a good idea, lots of termites here). Also on my shopping list is a couple of large tool boxes to put next to the small chicken coop, one for small often used garden tools, the other as a rodent proof container for bird food, so I don't need to carry it up from the shed each day.

Lots to do! Do you feel like it's easier to breathe after the coughing?

At the time it feels awful during a fit of coughing but yes it feels easier to breathe afterwards.

There is a big book sale in town this morning at the senior citizen club raising money for the local palliative care, as a family we will be heading in shortly to hunt for interesting books.

finished digging out the side of the hill for the new garden bed, still need to get my car back on the road to be able to pick up treated sleepers for the back of the terraced bed along with the concrete garden edging. calculated that I dug out around 4 cubic meters if hard packed dirt.

in the meantime, I have another area to prepare for putting down some blue metal between the small chook pen and the house before continuing to terrace beds down the hill.

Lunch today was roast port with a little bit of home made apple sauce.

more chipping and digging today, also started to haul blue metal from the pile in the driveway up the hill and spread it in the now flat area next to the chook pen over the top of the weed matting. D was surprised by how much I have managed to get done.

hopefully tomorrow I will be back to coaching the AFL however the night air is still causing problems for my lungs.

Chicken salad for tonight's meal.

I don´t think anything Tru does can surprise me at this point - unless it was giving up. Hope coaching goes well and your lungs keep up ok.

After each load in the wheelbarrow I was huffing and puffing like a steam train, at the moment I am simply running on determination to get it done and If I am outside, so is little miss, keeping her away from T.V and computer games which she is becoming quite proficient in playing, not all of which are strictly age appropriate but Pokémon is her favourite (completing all of the gym badges in Pokémon Shield with minimal help).

If I have the materials to work with I can just keep plodding along with it and it keeps me from feeling really down about how my health is.

I will post some progress pics if I remember.

On Wednesday little miss is at childcare so I can have a go at getting in a workout in the gym specifically to balance out the muscles I am using in the garden. The wheelbarrow hits my traps which are already over developed which mean my lats will need to be targeted in the gym. My Pecs are also very well developed and need to be balanced with a lot of rowing movements.

This teen was displaying this morning

There is a lot left to do, unfortunately it gets too hot in summer to work outside so it tends to get a bit neglected until winter.

Looking great! White peacocks always remind me of my grandfather. He kept all kinds of birds but the white peacocks looked kind of alien to me.

Finished filling the area next to the chicken fortress with the blue metal.

Training session in the gym + 50 meters of sled singe arm squat rows. (Sled + 20 kg plate)

Food so far - Chicken and Fetta
Fluid - 3 liters of water

Had a follow up appointment with my Doctor today, he has ordered another chest x-ray to be certain the pneumonia has cleared.
