Let's Rock Motivation Club!!!!!!

Hi, Aussie Chick, I think you're on the right track. Setting small goals really does help. You have also good exercise goals. Its a good practice to set goals that you can control (such as exercise or amount/type of food you eat), because you can specifically define those goals and achieve them.

Ah another great day has started ( well for me it started, I wake up way late), so come on people today is a good day to lose that weight. So dance, walk, jog, swim, just get moving. You'll thank yourself tomorrow!

:D -goes out to go biking then swimming with friends-

(((((((~~~~~SPLASH~~~~~~)))))))))

I'm diving right on into this thread. I would love some extra support and I to would like to give some support. They do say there is strength in numbers. You can never have to many supporters!

I have a mini goal. I want to lose 10 by the 10th (of August). Friday's are my free day and Monday's are my weigh in. I might regret that when I weigh in but I will see what happens.

My weight on Monday was 270. I've been avoiding the scale for a whole week to see if I can do it. So far so good.

Good luck to all on your mini goals!

I just came across a helpful tip.

Tip of the Day:
Create a schedule for your exercise and then you are less likely to blow it off.

I love this idea! :D I need all the support I can get!

My short term goal is to be 20lbs lighter for my mom's wedding on December 28th, 2006. Wish me luck!

Oh you can so do it! 20 lbs in what...?almost 5 months?
Pfft... in that time you'll be close to your overall goal weight.
you can do it!

:D

S3tsuna - biking and swimming, great exercise and fun! Keep at it:)
HB29 - 20lbs by Dec is only 2lbs per month! That is a done deal:) Have you thought of changing your goal to maybe losing even 4lbs a month that would be double the weightloss! Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm here to support you and motivate no matter what your goal:) Just something to think about.

Jennifuffa - great exercise tip. At the beginning of the week I write my "appointments" with the gym in my diary. That way I can work around those times eg. child minding, school rosters etc. (I'm a fulltime mum).

Nothingtolose - yes I agree setting smaller goals seems to work for me. I tend to be hard on myself if I don't make it to a predetermined goal. The only trouble is the previous goals have been way unrealistic:) Which has lead to a vicious cycle of - start diet/exercise - set unachievable targets - get disheartened when goals not met - give up - eat for comfort!!! But no more, I've seen the light.

So come on everybody lets have a great day and remember its one day closer to our goals!

aussiechick and s3tsuna - thanks so much the support! wow...i never realized that it was only 2lbs per month, haha. i'm definitely going to make my goal lower! thanks again!

:D

Well you can totally do it!

if you ever feel discouraged look in the progress thread to see how so many people have done or are very close to achieving their ultimate goal, and don't forget about us. Motivation is what we can do for each other.^^

Hi, all! Looks like everyone is doing great and is off to a good start. My goal is to shed off last 6 lbs, hopefully by October. I'm a very slow looser though (currently going at about 1 lb/month), so I'd have to double up. If I could do 2-3 lbs/month, it would be nice.

Count me in! My short-term goal is 10 pounds by August 10th. I'm not sure I'm off to such a great start. Weigh-in tomorrow will tell. So I need all the support I can get! And I love to give support, too, so this is a perfect thread to be a part of. Everyone have a terrific week!

My weigh-in is tomorrow as well! I wish you tons of luck! Even if the scale doesn't show huge improvements, you'll be able to feel them. So keep up the good work!

-does a cheerleading dance for you-
You can do it!

:D

Lets get moving this week!!

My goal for this week is to do weight training 4 times this week, in addition to my regular exercise (horseback riding), while eating moderate calorie diet.

G'day everyone

I'm feeling a bit guilty at the moment. I've missed going to the gym today, anyone thats visited my diary will know I have a broken little toe. I can still do a cardio workout on the bike though......but its cold and wet and my foot is sore, and I'm tired and.....and...and...

I know they're excuses. I ask myself the question "how much do I really want to lose this weight?" Apparently not enough to get my backside to the gym!

My goal this week was to do 6 cardio workouts plus 3 weight sessions. So I'll do a morning and evening session tomorrow because I really do want to achieve my goals......I just don't want to go to the gym right now when its dark and cold and wet.

Anyway I've rambled on enough.

Its alright if you slip just a little. You know what your goals are, and you usually have the means to achieve them. Don't overdue it on the little toe, poor buggers all broken an all. You do want to lose the weight, but you don't want to be misrable (spelling is way off, right?) while doing it.

So Opt to do the bike thing later on today, or add just a tiny bit more to each of the rest of your exercising periods to sort of make up for this one. You can totally do it!

:D

--------------------------

Today's goals are:

- Go do a 1/2 hour bike ride this morning -DONE-
- Make sure to get 5 servings of Veggies and fruits
- Drink at least 65 OZ of water
- Do some serious stretching throughout the day
- Go for another 1/2 hour bike ride this evening

S3tuna has a good idea - adding up a bit more to exercise each day to make up for missed one. I'll have to remember that one.

Well, I have to report that I've met my goal of exercize yesterday, and I'm pretty happy about that. Hope can do this for the rest of the week. I need to meet my sleep goals though. :)

Ah well, sleep is just as important as exercising! I'm glad you met your goal and are pleased about it!
