Let's get healthy

Hi all, I have not posted and I haven't had a really good workout since Thursday. I had terrible work outs over the weekend and Friday, I took the day off and drank diet Coke! Depression has pulled me under so I thought I'd start my day by talking about it.

There was this guy who I was obsessed with and he knew that. I couldn't really tone down the emotions enough to be normal with this guy. I just don't have the emotional skin for it. When I feel something, I swear I feel it ten times more then a normal person feels something. Anyways, I posted an ad to meet a female friend to go out and do things with but found out through several coincidences that he was associated with her and I went down so fast! You all may need more detail on this but it would make too long of an already long message.

I'm picking myself up today. We all fall right? I'm going to grab a shake for breakfast and then head to the gym here shortly and try to get a good work out in before I do my paperwork and apply for jobs! If anyone falls, message me. I'm going to get back up today too!

i notice your comment regarding fat (gms/ calories). this is a graph i like to post every once in a while...

insulin reaction to macro nutrients.jpg

to keep your insulin level low (a key factor in burning off YOUR fat), fat is the best macronutrient. there is really no direct correlation between fat (the macronutrient) and fat (the body tissue).

Oh, honey. I sometimes think I feel things out of proportion to how others do too. I have to really work on building up my emotional strength. You have been really hurt emotionally & it will take time for that to heal. Moving away to start over was a really brave step. It is so important to look after yourself both physically & emotionally. Try to be less self-critical. Look yourself in the mirror & say something nice about yourself. :grouphug:

Thanks. I'm sad to say I didn't make it to the gym today but happy to report I am feeling a lot better and I'll be back tomorrow

Step by step... just feeling better and knowing what you want is a big thing.
I'm so sorry about the coincidences turning up the way they did. Look after yourself - and what Cate says about looking at yourself in the mirror and saying something kind is really wise. Hugs, and treat yourself gently! (Not at the gym! At the gym you can get as vigorous as you like!)

Hey RS, sorry to hear about your issues with the gym and the guy, sounds like you are getting past it though. Get on a good plan and I am sure you will start feeling better and better about yourself pretty quickly.
We all fall right?
Of course we do, its what you do about it that matters, and it sounds like you are doing it right.
it would make too long of an already long message
Never worry about how long your messages are, you can use this as a place to vent anytime.

I am looking forward to following your progress!

Well done coming on the forum and posting even though you weren't proud of what you wanted to say. We do all fall but as long as you get up one more time than you fall down you'll be fine :grouphug:

The stress is making it hard to eat right but thankfully I have a yoga mat, some weights, and exercise bands to keep me occupied. Today was my tenth day of isolation.

I have no room to work out and I've been experiencing some contact with the guy that previously hurt me so I'm not on a diet right now either. I wish I was as strong as you all but I am going to get back into it after the pandemic is over

Hey RS, good to see you posting, sorry you are not feeling better.

On the exercise thing I'd just suggest doing what you can and not stressing too much over what you can't do right now. This is a temporary thing. Can you walk?

Why not get on a diet now? I think you can do it, I am sure you are stronger than you think you are. Can you try doing a diet for just one day? Tomorrow? I'll bet you can.

I know getting over the guy is tough, but focusing on other things like a diet and any exercise you can do will help. Just one day of eating right will make you feel better and better about yourself. I guarantee it!

I´m sorry you´re struggling. I have all of two square meters to work out on so I have to improvise a lot. But it works and keeps me occupied. Diet is definitely hard now that my job is... well, I don´t know what´s going on with my job which is kind of the problem.
