Thoughts-
Forgot how much front squats suck. FFFFF

Also, I hate unilateral work. Counting twice as much tricks me into thinking I'm doing more work than I really am.

I usually finish with one leg first on unilateral work, that way when I count to 10, I've actually done 10 reps, not just 5 per leg :p
I also usually have a break in between legs. I simply noticed that I got so out of breath from doing really heavy bulgarian squats that it was limiting me in what I could lift when I changed legs.

To witness some beautifully verdant scenery. In CA, the hills are brown for a large part of the year, and now is the best time to see some green.

hey man since you do jits, do you do any stretching after a wrestling workout taht will keep you limber if your getting thrown around?

any tips about infusing wrestling(in your case, jits) with weight training?

The foam roller has been my go-to when stiff. So I end up using it a lot after grappling. I'm pretty flexible as it is with good mobility, so I don't find myself stretching often. I will however do dynamic warm ups and mobility drills before rolling. FYI I never bought a foam roller, I used a firm swim noodle and cut it into two.

As far as combining training, I think it's best to get strong in some sort of press/dip, pull/chin, dl/gm, and squat. I didn't like a lot of volume and I didn't find myself lifting more than 4x a week when training both. My goal was to get better at grappling, lifting become secondary. If I found that I was getting too tired during rolling, I'd do some sort of metcon/gpp for a while. But your coach will probably get you guys on some sort of lifting program.

2 hours jits. Trying to get back into this now that I am healed up and less busy at school. Fittingly, my shoulder was/is a bit tweaked from jits.

I like your training style lei.

After 2 years of using a 4xweekly split, but learning a lot on the way, me and my partner have now decided our destiny is strength training!

We've just started a very simple 5x5 3xweekly FBW which were gonna do for a couple of months, im going to get squat/deadlift form down to perfection. We're also going to start doing oly lifts etc.

Eventually i wanna be tyre flipping, truck pulling, log pressing.....f**king everything!

Probably something light...I really have no idea. It's not a huge tire, but it's not as small as some of the others I've seen.

Thoughts-

Okay, so I'm good with framing/shrimping and defense. Need to work on that offense. New goal: Tap John out regularly. I'm sick of rolling with him when all he does is try to break me off. I realize that's his style and that's now some people will play, but I'm not fond of it.
