Hey guys summer is here and I know that for some of us between the intense heat and the allure of family picnics and barbecues it’s a bit harder to stay motivated and stay on track. This contest is designed to give you stuff to do and keep you challenged throughout the summer with the added benefit of the support of others. After the initial signups people will be split as evenly as possible into teams which will have their own progress threads where you will update status and chat with each other.

So, how will it work?

This will be a points based contest - but no one will be kicked off. Each week, I will total points for each team for a running tally. The team with the most points at the end of the contest will WIN! Weeks will start on Sunday and end on Friday. (which means all totals must be posted by Friday at midnight of your local time.)

Points will be based on exercise, weight loss and bonus challenges. However, you must report what you ate (good or bad) on a daily basis in your team thread. ( If you can’t post every day you must keep track of what you ate and do a mass update when you next post in the team thread) The idea behind this is to keep in contact with other team members and watch out for each other by updating regularly.

Point system:

EXERCISE - each person must complete 100 minutes of exercise per week

Anyone who completes this will earn 5 points.

Any team that has every player hit the exercise goal will receive an additional 10 points.

WEIGHT LOSS - you will earn 1 point per pound lost. So, if you lose 2 lbs., you will get 2 points. If you lose 1.5 lbs., you will get 1.5 points.

If you gain weight, no points will be earned or lost.

WEEKLY BONUS : Each week will have a special challenge that the team ( or sometimes one person alone) must do . This is to keep things interesting and hopefully fun. It is preferable that throughout the week like food and exercise minutes your challenge status is updated .
Your team will earn 15 points if everyone ( or the assigned person) accomplishes the bonus.

Saturdays will be our rest and cheat days, you are not required to update on those days ^-^

Dates:
Sign ups will run until Friday June 11th ( Team threads and the weekly bonus will be up by our start date which is Sunday, June 13th ) The contest will run through August 27th ( 11 weeks). To sign up please just post in this thread that you want to participate ( stat tables will be available in team threads afterwards)


Extra motivation
Every participant that wants one can have an inspiration angel or guardian beast with ( hair/skin/wing,mane,eyes etc) colours of their choice

Ok count me in. It will give me the push I need to keep on exercising once the really hot weather hits us :)
 
alright I'll probably put you in groups in order of how you signed up. I need to know if deanna and casey are in or just commenting though. sign ups are still open until tomorrow night.
 
Ok technically its not the 11th anymore because its after midnight here....but I just saw this, lol. Can I squeeze in this time?
 
Ok team threads are up ^-^ Please note that your starting weight is your weight now but your week one weight will be when you weigh on on the 18th.

THIS WEEK'S BONUS (starting Sunday, the 13th)

Perform a new or disliked exercise every day this week. There is no required amount of time this may be done and I use the term exercise loosely, it can include martial arts, dancing etc.
 
This is just what I need to give me a push. I have virtually given up doing any form of exercise for the last month other than fast walking which I do every day but really need to get into some of my exercise videos and lots of things that I haven't yet tried with the WII. Good luck to everyone we will all be winners. :)
