Crap! I'm so sorry for not posting the challenge! I just remembered!

It's ...

Week 3: Junk—No junk food at all. This means no candy, pizza, anything fried, cookies, etc. Oddly nutritious junk, like South Beach cookies are okay—because they have at least 3 grams fiber or protein.

Hi Shannon

Join away. The more the merrier!

Paste in a form and stop eating junk food!

Love
Margaret

Omega's right. You're only competing against yourself.

This past week, my other self won. I can't believe how much I've let exercise go! It seems like I can work out and eat a pig and a wedding cake every day or not work out and follow a diet. But I'm excited that this week is no junk food, so I can get back on track (last week I did badly at both...)

Dont worry Spartacus - we all have days when we lose our focus. It is just our way of demonstrating to ourselves how we got to be big in the first place. Immediate forgiveness is the only answer.

I take it that stuff fried in fry light (1 calorie per spray) is fine. I use that stuff all the time whenever I fancy a stir-fry.

Hey, next week's challenge is on time!

Week 4: Exercise—180 minutes is the goal. Let’s get moving!

Now I know y'all'll have no problem with that...

3 days of no junk!!!

180mins should be cool - i might even get extra for kudos...

My only problem with junk food would be if someone classified honey shreddies as junk food. Unlikely - since they contain protein, fibre and heaps of vitamins. It is the nearest thing to junk food that I allow myself and I always feel a little guilty about eating them in "no junk food" weeks.

The exercise idea should go like a dream for me. I take it that is 180 minutes over the whole week. I only mention it because I normally do at least that per day - but next week we are thinking of going away for the weekend in which case I may do less exercise than normal over the affected days.

Holy crap!

Now, Omega, you know we live in different places. What is Honey Shreddies? cereal?

Also, 180 minutes a day!!! It's now wonder you're so frickin skinny! I know you've said you gain weight easily and all that. But I'm still completely impressed. So impressed I can't even divide and figure out hour many hours that is. :svengo: Whoops I just fainted. whew!

Oh, and yeah, 180 is for the whole week.

Honey shreddies is a whole grain cereal and I love it - it tastes of honey. I have almost all my carbohydrates in the form of cereals (weetabix and honey shreddies) and really enjoy it between my walks. If it was ever a case of giving up my shreddies or dropping points - I would not be giving up my shreddies.

I dont think that I will have any difficulty getting the exercise in.

Ahem...so yesterday I forgot about the junk food challenge. Whoops! The other days this week have been good, but shame on me for forgetting yesterday!

You are only human spartacus26. Congratulate yourself for the days when you have been good - dont focus on the slip-up.

Thanks Omega, especially since this is the second time in like 2 weeks that you've said that to me. I hadn't been trying at all a couple of weeks ago. And I know it takes hard work to stay on the wagon, so I should be more excited about the 3 days this week I was under calories, not the 3 days I was over. Thanks!!
:hurray:

Does anyone see a trend with the number four here?? lol I'm going to change that with this coming challenge!

Spartacus - I hate, loathe and detest counting calories myself. I cope much better by adhering to a food plan whereby I only alter one main meal. If I want anything extra I have something healthy. It works for me. Calorie counting always led to me beating myself up over transgressions in the past - which in turn led to abandoned projects.

Tarrish - I will say much the same thing to you too. Focus on the fact that you are learning good habits and have actually been good on 4 days. Accepting new habits into your lifestyle is what is going to make the big difference. Congratulate yourself on the successes. You can aim to do better without beating yourself up over the days where you slip up.

I might look like a bit of a machine at times when I get good weeks one after another. You have to remember that I am over a year into a long term project. I have been learning quite a lot of good habits and many of them are almost second nature now. I had tons of slip-ups at first.

My big problem in the past was that I used to focus on my failures and that caused me to abandon so many weight loss projects it is silly.

I have a good idea of my limitations - and that is why my first posting on this thread was that I knew that I could not achieve something on any of the days that week. As it happens the instructions changed.

Take care
Love
Margaret
