Cohen's Lifestyle Kristy's made it to refeed!

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Good evening everyone reading my diary, hope you had a great day.

My day was quite good.. felt SO much better, thankfully! Day went pretty fast at work as I was busy =o)

Day 9!
Weight: 57.1
Change since start: +200grams
+ 3 bread
+ 2 bad fruit
+ new protein
+ milk

Breaky: 1 bread + scrambled egg (adding milk) + mushrooms
Lunch: Phili & tomato on 4 crackers (substituted crackers for 2 bread) + chicken thigh and salad
Dinner: Steak with mushrooms & salad

Snacks: Coffee with splash of milk, banana, apple, pear, kiwi fruit & 2 CB (Pwoah!) Still managed fine though haha :)

I dont feel as full today which is good. I think cutting the bread out and having crackers instead helped. Also had to subtract 40g old protein for the milk.

Yay for not going up anymore - but we'll see what happens tomorrow........

I realised today when I had the tiny bit of milk that I really dont even care about it anymore. i dont care about latte's or having any milk in my instant coffee.. its no big deal. I also dont care much for bread anymore. I'm adding carbs tomorrow and I'll prob realise I dont care too much for them either! It feels great to not love these things anymore.... =o)

Anyways I best be off and get my stuff ready for tomorrow.
Have a good night!

Good morning, just checking in. Had a productive morning! Got up earlier than normal for work and got ready quick so have been able to do dishes and tidy up. Feels great coming home to a tidy house..esp seeing as tonight is food shopping night, so we'll be home late!

Day 10! Yay! only 1 week to go!
Weight: 56.8kgs
Change since start: -100grams
+ 3 bread (I am just having 1 bread, 6 crackers)
+ 2 bad fruit
+ new protein
+ old protein
+ old vege
+ carbs
+ milk (which means subtract old protein!)
(phew!, too much maths!)

Breaky: 1 toast with banana, yoghurt with other half of banana. YUMMO to the banana on toast!
For lunch I have: Chicken & Feta Salad

Im happy I went back down! I think cutting down to 1 piece of bread helped.. So going to try and stick to that for the remainder of refeed. Then I'll just test the waters again in maintenance I guess.

Feeling positive and happy today. The end is in sight!

Happy Thursday!

Herrro everyone,

Just a quick update - have all of my meat to chop up and get in the freezer for the week ahead!

Pretty good day - busy at work so went pretty fast!

Lunch: Chicken & Feta Salad with crackers
Dinner: Chicken breast with veges and mashed potato

Snacks: Crackers, pear, apple, mango, coffee with milk

Everythings all good - looking forward to when this thing is oooooooover!

Oh one thing - I think my stomach has stretched majorly! The HUGE portions are not filling me up like they were just at the start of the week... im full/satisfied but not feeling completely stuffed. Is this a good thing or ???? Eek!

Catch you all later
K

Kristy- The huge portions aren't compared to what we all used to eat before Cohen's. The bigger stomach will be bloat from the bread I would imagine. It's all good Kristy. Relax sweets. You're doing well, xo Cate

Hmm yeah thats true Cate. Last night's plate just looked so huge. But I guess pre cohens all of the veggies on there would have been carb loaded things instead!

I have my last appointment with the clinic today to go over maintenance guidelines, looking forward to having a read of those =o)

Will come back later and check in and let you know how Day 11 went!

Have a great day!

Good Friday evening everyone! Woohoo! So glad its the weekend =)

Day 11:
Weight: 56.6
Change since start: -300grams
+ 3 bread (1 had 2 bread, 3 CB)
+ 2 bad fruit
+ old vege
+ old protein
+ new protein
+ milk
+ carbs

Breaky: Omlette (with milk) with mushrooms and 1 toast
Lunch: Mix of tuna and salmon with Salad + 3 CB
Dinner: Grilled Pork & Beef + Veges + Roast Potatoes

Snacks: Fruit salad with apple, mango & strawberry + 1 banana on toast

Had my appointment with the clinic today and got my management guidelines. Feeling good about it and I'm confident that I'll do well with keeping the weight off :)

I'm amazed at the things that I thought I'de LOVE when they were bought back in on the refeed (bread, milk & carbs) but meh.. no biggie. Milk smells a bit like vomit now. Lol.. I dont mind the bread but I dont WANT it like I used too...same with the carbs. 1 serve is such a small amount that I kind of think its just not even worth going to the time and effort of cooking it up to have that much haha! But of course I dont want to eat more than that either =P the 50g serve is just enough if you do want them.

Anyways refeed has helped me realise/learn that I have changed SO much and I now understand why it is the most important part of this!

Probably rambling now so I'll be off and speak to you all tomorow!

Hello there anyone who might be reading my diary!

Wow, Day 12 already! The time has flown on refeed. I guess because you have that extra variety and it really keeps you happy and on your toes! The days just seem to be here and gone so quickly.

I've had a nice day so far. Caught up with a good friend for a big chat and coffee this morning...then we went to an invitation shop called Starfish Lane to get all my supplies for my invitations. I could have spent hours in there with the huge variety of stuff... I'm not a big crafty person but if I had the money and time to spend - I would love to make cards/invitations all the time!

Here's how Day 12 is lookin... its only 3pm but I know what Im eating for the rest of the day, so i'll tell ya!

Weight: 56.2
Change since start: -700grams (woohoo! still going down!)
+ 3 bread
+ 2 bad fruit
+ old vege
+ old protein
+ new protein
+ new vege
+ milk
+ carbs

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with mushrooms and 1 toast
Lunch: Chicken thigh & chicken breast with salad and 50g pasta shells
Dinner: Fish & a small piece of salmon with veges

Snacks: fruit salad of strawberries, apple & kiwi into 2 portions, banana on toast, black coffee..

Nothing too exciting :) The pasta didnt phase me.. I guess its not really the yummiest way to eat pasta! Its only an hour after I've eaten it and I'm feeling extremley tired - not sure if its from the carbs or whether its just because I haven't really stopped all day and now I'm sitting down im feeling tired. Luckily I dont have anything I have to do this arvo/evening so I can just relax on the couch :)

Have a nice weekend all.

Eek!! I made a boo boo! :( We went out for coffee but Chris had not had dinner yet so he ordered calamari and chips. I had a pick at a few of his chips =\ I dont know why I gave in! The thought of deviation has not even crossed my mind through refeed but for some reason I just started to pick at his chips! eek... I hope this doesnt screw up my refeed?! Will have to prepare myself for a rise on the scales tomorrow I think, even if it was just a few chips! Gotta expect the worst!

Anyway, just thought I should own up!
Night all.

wow, Kris - correct me if I'm wrong but it took you LESS than 3 months to get to refeed?? My jaw is still on the ground! :)

We have about the same amount of weight to lose and I would be **so happy** if I did as well as you! However this month I've been plagued with silly unintentional deviations. Completely my fault and I am back on track! I think I have to reread your entire diary again to draw inspiration :)

Hi Kristy- It just goes to show how we eat without thinking. Keep that in the back of your mind as eating mindfully will be a key to maintaining your goal weight. If you have gained 1kg go back 2 days & a lesson will be learnt. Thanks for your cheery words in my diary yesterday. I was freaking out! xoxo Cate

Hiya!

Dietgrrl - It was nearly exactly 4 months from commencing the program to starting refeed. It could have been a lot less but I had quite a few deviations through out the program (which I totally do not condone!!!) so it definately could have taken me 3 months! I'm flattered that I inspire you, thank you! Once you get through those 3 initial days of being 110% back on cohens, it seems to be easier and the cravings go away. Keep up the good work :)

Thanks for your reply Cate. Yeah - stupid eating without thinking!! I dont know what happened. I felt unwell last night and could taste the oil in my mouth...yuk. Luckily it did not effect the scales.

Day 13:
Weight: 56.2
Change since start: -700grams
Same as everything above...

Breakfast: 1/2 apple in yoghurt with cinnamon, banana on 1 toast

Thats all so far.. day 13 to be continued!!!!

Im going to go visit some diaries now :)

Evening everyone!

I had a pretty good day. I was supposed to catch up with a friend for a walk this morning but she bailed on me. I still went and cranked my ipod and wow! I felt so amazing! I think its the first time since I've lost weight that I've gone out there and really given it what I've got - i could really feel the difference - I could FEEL that I was lighter?! Anyways I walked briskly for 50 mins and could have gone for a lot longer - but thought I'de just take it slow for now seeing as I'm just starting out again.

I went to the movies with my friend this arvo and we saw Nine. I do not recommend seeing it! We walked out half way through because we couldn't take it anymore. Maybe just not our kind of movie (musical).

Day 13 (cont)

Lunch: Chicken, cheese & mayo toasted sandwich + cheese melted on veges (cauliflower, mushroom, zucchini and spring onion) - OH this was just sooo yummy!!!!

Dinner: Grilled pork & chicken with boiled broccoli, carrots & cauliflower, char grilled mushrooms & zucchini and roast potatoes. - WOW, also such a yummo dinner! was huge! I felt pretty damn full straight after but 30 mins later I'm feeling pretty OK and just satisfied.

I've now settled on the couch to watch the biggest loser. I love this show, it makes me really emotional because I can really relate to the contestants and how mentally challenging the journey is. It's starting at a really good time - it will keep me motivated as I go into maintenance.

Hope you all have a nice week ahead.
Bye for now.
K xoxo

Evening all!

Day 14:
Weight: 56.2 (Stablising! woo!)
Change since start: -700grams
All of the above + margarine on one toast

Breakfast: Yoghurt with Mango + 2 toast with 1/2 banana
Lunch: Beef & Pork Salad
Dinner: Grilled beef & pork, char grilled zucchini & mushrooms, cauliflower, broccolo & carrots, roast potato (pwoah! i was so so full after this)

Snacks: Apple, Pear and other half of banana, coffee with milk

Happy that I am stablising, happy with the number too :) have had quite a funny stomach the past 2 days though, a bit of bad wind lol think it might be from the bananas.

Today I went to a 'bring your plate' lunch and there was lots of yummy things. Pizza, muffins, cakes... I just took my lunch and sat away from the food. Wasn't as hard as I thught it would be. =]

I also have picked myself up a 2nd job helping a friend of mine clean her house every fortnight. She's going to pay me $30 per hour which is awesome! I'm not going to get her to pay me for a few months and then I'll get a bulk amount and can put it towards something big.

Anyways, better get going, hope you're all well.

Hey Kris,

Eventually i am back and feeling better, thank you so much for your messages while i was away.

You sound like you are doing great on this refeed and have to admit it does sound like a helluva lot of food.

Your second job sounds awesome and like the idea of saving the money, you could even use it towards something special for you wedding or engagement party, a little bit of extra cash is always helpful no matter how much it is!

Hope you had a great Monday :)

xxxx

That's great Kristy about the 2nd job! You are blitzing refeed too. Well done! Bad luck about the wind though. I doubt if it would be from bananas- it's more likely from bread. Almost there. Wow! Cheers, Cate

Hiya everyone,

Thanks for dropping by, really nice to see people are reading!!

Glad you're feeling better Ang! Yes, refeed is a hell of a lot of food but my body seems to be pretty used it already. I was still really stuffed from dinner last night but if I had lost the carbs and just had meat and vege, I would have been fine. I'll be keeping carbs to a minimum once in maintenance because I just don't want them like before. I think we are going to put the extra $$ towards a thermomix (10 in one appliance!) google it if you want to see :)

Dietgrrl - my refeed is 17 days, sorry, I may not have mentioned that. I finish on Thursday :)

Thanks Cate :) ahhh the bread. ah well haha

Day 15:
Weight: 56.2 (I saw 55.7 flash up this morning and got a little excited!)
Change since start: - 700grams
All of the above + 1 plain biscuit

Breakfast: Yoghurt with mango + 2 pieces of toast
Lunch: Tuna pasta salad with mayo

My lunch is huge! I had to switch containers as it wouldn't all fit in my 'refeed' container! Haha. I dont know whether I'll get through it.

Well, off to work I go. I have a HUGE day ahead of me... CANT WAIT until tonight - Greys Anatomy starts! woohoo!!!!!!!!!!

K xo

Hey Kris,

Wow, can't believe you finish refeed this week already, how exciting.

Regarding the portions, for the first time today i had my yoghurt with mango and oh my word i was absolutely stuffed, i couldn't believe how filling it is and then i read what you have eaten, an extra 2 slices of toast, that is very hectic, lol, not sure if i was so full cause i always just have my yoghurt with cinnamon in the morning but that really made me feel stuffed, i think what i might do is only use half my fruit portion for breakfast and then have the other half during the morning as my snack.

I am also a huge Greys fan, we are on about the 3rd episode now of Season 6, i absolutely hate having to wait a whole week to watch another episode, lol.

Wow that appliance looks really cool, i had never even heard of it till now, might have to look into that myself, are they very expensive over there?

Hope you having a great day and you enjoyed your biscuit :)

xxx

Hi there everyone,

I'm having a bit of a downer night, kinda stuffed up dinner and only realised after I'de eaten it, also couldn't get through it. Just had no appetite at all, probably ate just over half. ah well... not going to stuff myself silly!!

Yeah, 2 days left. Cannot believe it! Cant wait. I'm really over these big portions and having to think to much about food...would just like to go 'what do I feel like for lunch?' ok yep, I'll have that! (within reason of course!)

Ang, cant say I ever felt really STUFFED just from having 1 serve of mango in my yoghurt haha, I did it on plan quite a few times and it was like my little treat having the extra. But normally I'de portion my fruit out and have half at a time...

The thermomix is $2,000 australian. A lot of money but well worth it once you realise how many things you can make with it =o)

I very much enjoyed my biscuit this afternoon, thank you :) I used to think those plain bikkies tasted really bland and crap before but today it tasted beautiful and sweet...

Well I'm feeling a bit average tonight so just going to set myself up on the couch and watch my shows. Catch you all later. xo
