Nice squats. Can't wait till I get to 225. Don't think I will get as low on the reps as you though. Too risky I think.
edit: what % of you max are you doing on the squats in your last workout?
JMAN, that is anywhere from 85% to 90% of my max. if you wanna do 6x2, start with 85 then work up : ]]]]
PB works at 2% of his max for all his lifts. There aren't enough weights in the state of FL to load up even 80% of his squat.
epic lulz! haha really, i feel like my squat should be a lot higher. im trying to practice ripptoe's "hip drive" form to get more weight on, but it takes practice. i might start back squatting 2 times a week, front 1. but on deadift day, that can be kinda crazy.
i really have been at max 300 for a while now, and its about time i bring out the bag of tricks to blast by that...and that doesnt include over-reaching routines that i'v been trying to use for a year now. theyr good for building up to a powerlifting event or something, but the gains somewhat diminish.
slow steady gains ftw i guess
the "bag of tricks" as of now probably is going to consist of a lot more goodmornings, RDL's, hip drive squats, and front squats. might put in box squats too, but that whole "speed work" thing didnt go so well when i tried it -__________-
thanks for the comment though...lulz
Love that Shuffle! Your gym set up is so hard core OLD School! Ahnnnnold would feel completely at home there.
I agree about the gymnastics being awesome. One of the women I compete with is encouraging me to pick up the fitness stuff with all of that incorporated and when I told her I thought I was too old she informed me she learned to flip and do all the other acrobatics at 38! Limited only by our minds.
seriosly! thankyou! i thought i was old to start at 18 LOL kuz a lotta kids start at like 3 haha. its really fun, just awesome exercise too. i really like training on the pullup bars and parallel bars..there are so many exercises to do on those 2 devices!!! great core strength and upper body strength can be achieved with that alone...
and yeah, i love the old school setup of gyms, ghetto ways to workout are the best. i was going to make my own squat rack too but my pops bought me one for christmas lol
thanks for the stop by mel!
: D DDDDDDDDDD
Shuffling looks like a lot of fun and great cardio.
Yes, benching 3x a week is too much in my opinion; twice a week is good. Everyone is different and it seems like you have a really good recovery system so 3 times might work for you but I know it does not for me at all.
Have a good week man.
tic, i also think that bench 3 times a week is too much, but considering that only 1 is flat bench and the other 2 are incline and floor press, il think il try it b/c like u said i can recover well : ]
thanks for the input my friend. we miss u!
