So is this right, I weigh 145, and 1% of that would be 1.45? So that would be my goal for the first week...

I'm going to jump in on this. I have joined another challenge with a vow to do something but I also need a place to be accountable for my weight loss. I am 8.6 lbs away from Onederland! :D My weigh-in days are Mondays.
