Hey Ali, congratulations on breaking 180, that's great, now don't look back.
And to everyone else, I'm basically new to this forum, and I'm finding it very inspirational, I'm kind of going slow, but hey, it took me years to wain geight, so I take it a day at a time. Hoping to make good decisions every day. And July is far from over. May I have everyone's opinion, what do you think works best, weigh in every day, or every week??
 
If you weigh in everyday you need to realize that some days your weight will be up and you can't think that your life is over and it's not working. Here's what I do (not saying you should do this too): I weigh myself every morning "unofficially" because I'd go crazy if I didn't weigh myself everyday. When I weigh in on Friday I count that as my "official" weigh-in, and thats what I use to change my ticker and what not.
 
Yeah, that's a good idea adeon, I also go crazy if I don't weigh in every day, kind of keep thinking about it in the afternoon kind of thing, but for the records just one day can count. I guess it's just a pointer of how more conscious I have to be with food that day, or if I really, really need to not miss my exercise(walking so far). Just guessing how far off I'm from normal.
 
Hey, Eddie. I weigh every day and I update my ticker each day. If you click on it you can see a graph of all the ups and downs. I don't stress if it's up, but I do take it into consideration for what I'm doing that day. Do I hit the cardio hard of the weights or is there room for some barbecue or whatever. You can see where your body reacts best and worst.

On this tread I update once a week. Monday's are my day, so being bad on the weekend really shows.

I would also recommend taking some measurements of your body at this point. It will be really helpful to you later when you aren't losing weight but you are being good. It can be very frustrating. Seeing inches come off your waist can help you through those frustrating times.
 
I also weigh everyday. My weight has typically been really stable in the past and I didn't see much up and down from day to day - one pound at the most. It was a good way to keep me on track. But recently I had a bad weekend with lots of beer and pizza. My weight skyrocketed from 192.4 on Sunday to 196.2 - a "gain" of 3.8 pounds. I REALLY let it get to my head (and thanks for the guys here that tried to keep me in line about that!). Today, just a few days after that huge high, I'm down to 191.8 - a "loss" of 4.4 pounds since Tuesday. You just have to keep in mind that when stuff like that happens, it's just water weight. Easier said then done...I've finally been a victim of the dreaded Scale Mentality!

I just update my ticker once a week on Mondays. But I report other day's weights in threads like this (the day for some of us in this thread is Tuesday and the 1% challenge thread is Friday).
 
I too weigh everyday. I believe it keeps me in check too. I actually weight twice a day. Morning and Night. The morning weigh in is my true weigh in. Night time is just to gage where I will be. Also, I will weigh in 3 times per weigh in to get the average weight. Im a freak I know! LOL :smilielol5:

I like that idea, being able to see the graph, and notice the trends. I'm going to have to try that.

Mine are tuesdays for the same reason. I tend to be bad on the weekend, and continue on Monday. I don't usually get back on track until tuesday, so I figure if I can get to where I want to be on tuesday, then the rest of the week will be easy.

Ok, so tuesday it is for this thread, and I will also update my ticker that day. I hadn't considered measurements, really. But will certainly do so. Let's all be good on this weekend, so it pays off on tuesday, ok. Remember it's not a luck thing, it's decision making.

Loss for July: 2 pounds

I'm very happy about this. Last week was a disappointment workout wise, but I really stuck to the diet for the most part. (A little pizza disappeared, but I'm not saying where)

This week I'm going to really kick it up a notch. I have an Irish Festival Friday through Sunday, so I know I'll be kilted all weekend. I want to look my best. It will be the first that some people have seen me since I started this. :cheers2:

I'll weigh in tomorrow. An extra day can only help, right? Lol.

Sorry I've been MIA, guys. With the wedding only 25 days away, I've been busy busy busy. I'm trying to get my hours up at work so I won't have to play catch-up when I get back. Seriously, how hard is it going to be to get my mind back into work after spending a week in paradise?? On a positive note, I did manage to outbill the other paralegal, a law clerk, and two attorneys last month. I was the third highest biller in the office. Go me! :D

I too will weigh in officially tomorrow, just for consistancey... however I got on the scale this morning and was showing 145! Hopefully that's not a fluke!
