No. I would not die for a false war with Iran. I will not sacrifice my life for an offensive war that our government should never had implemented in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, if the USA gets invaded i would fight to death. I am as patriotic as the next person. But I refuse to fight for someone elses agenda.

I would have fought for:
1. World war 2.
2. Civil War
3. Revolutionary war.

Both instances the US was invaded.

edit = I really hope we don't go to war with Iran. Its going to get bad.

We're not going to go to war with Iran if Obama gets elected, but we might if McCain gets elected.

I'd have to agree with you on that one. If Iran gets nukes and uses them they will be totally annihilated by almost every other country that has nukes. But I'm thinking thats not really the issue.

Lets just pray that Bush doesn't pull the trigger before the elections.

That sums up what I believe right there.

Now if the war was unjustified...I would not serve. If there was a draft, however, weather I like it or not, I would serve <-- even if that war was unjustified because the jail sentence isn't worth it either.

Glad you guys support the troops, seriously, when they return they should get a big welcome back party.

I know I'm going to get a lot of hate messages for this: but yes, I would still go and not because I'm racist or anything, but because my country asked me to.

I believe very strongly in the US government. I believe they will do the right thing, and if they lied to its citizens it would be for our own good. The government is run by the people for the people. If the US deemed the world as crap and required its citizens to bear arms and start blowing stuff up, I would be first in line. I love this country and if the government wants me to chop off the fingers of people who pick up our soil, it's time to go.

Think of the government as the big pimp daddy. He'll slap you silly and shower you with candy and glitter, but it'll be for your own good.
 
Also, am I the only nut to stop the car when they lower the flag?

I stop my car every time I see someone lower a flag. On the military base, they play the taps and I stop my car and get out.

I also once stopped by a McDonalds as they lowered the flag. People must have thought I was a nut job.

I agree with you there. I'm going to vote for Obama, assuming he secures the nomination.

Another war in the middle east is the last thing we need. Another war anywhere is the last thing we need. I can see if we were viciously attacked and had to defend our own country, but going into another country and causing trouble? I don't think so. Iraq did not attack us, we should not be there. The threat of "Weapons of Mass Destruction" that didn't even exist is definitely not a good reason to destroy another country in the name of "Democracy". Stay out of other people's business unless you're directly involved, and your country is in immediate danger. Otherwise, you're putting your country and your citizens at risk.

As for a draft, I really hope that does not happen. I would probably try to leave the country or do something to avoid it. Is there anything that says only children can't get drafted? If so, then I'm safe.

I might vote for Obama. He supports class warfare which I despise, but at least he'll be less likely to keep us in actual warfare.

Let's not forget that Congress is supposed to declare war for the war to be legal. This hasn't happened since what? WWII?
 
Back in 2003, a number of Democratic congresspeople tried to introduce legislation that would include women in a future draft, but the Republican majority voted against it. It got 2 yes votes and 402 nos.

I say, bring it on. If men have to be ripped from their homes and lives in order to kill and die for their country, so should women. I don't want to be excluded from anything because of my sex. I'm not saying I want to go to war, I'm just saying that I don't want to get out of it just because I'm a woman. I want to get out of it the way everyone else who doesn't want to fight gets out of it, flee the country or be a conscientious objector.

Not everyone has such an optimistic view of the people running the government (remember the saying about how power corrupts?). Also, sometimes people who are running the government think that they are doing good for the country, when they really are not.
 
I read this magazine the other day and it was this company that make these prototype suits which may be used for soilders in the future.

The suit had hydraulic pumps on it so that a human would be much stronger, faster etc.
They even mentioned (a bit far fetched) that they were trying to allow the suit to detect incoming fire, which it then would self harden in the area the missiles/bullets were about to make impact on.

That was using some sort of technology that i have no idea about...

Looked crazyyyyyy though. Bit off track :D

And yea i would fight if i belived in it. And for my county.
