So I'm male and about 195 lbs.... at least that's what I was when I started the diet I'm currently on. I was eating 3500-4000 calories a day for quite a few months and gaining weight. Just recently I decided I'd like to burn some of this fat.

I started my diet on Monday and used a caloric intake of 1400 calories. I'm not eating any carbs at all besides fiberous veggies. I'm eating around 330 grams of protein and some good fats.

When I started the diet on Monday morning, I was 191. Monday night I was 199!!!!11111

This morning I was 193.

What am I doing wrong?

you're a lardass...

seriously dude.. you're fat - those rippling biceps - merely figments of your imagination and crazy glue...

You need to try that 18 in 4 diet or the 11 day diet..

Plus sme diet pills - that'll help..
and maybe some of that herbal laxative dieters tea so you can poop out some poundages :D

and maybe just maybe up your cardio to say 4 hours a day of HIIT :D

Oh Wait -you were serious and I'm poking fun of you - it's rare you ask for help on this forum - let me try again:)

1 day of no change does not a plateau make...

you're in this for the long haul, well 2 weeks anyhow, so staying off the scale for a few days while your body adjusts to the caloric deficit might better suit you...

That's rubbish.

If I'm eating so few calories, where is the weight coming from?

:p

How are you measuring your calories?

How are you keeping track of said calories?

I just eye ball it and I have a good memory.

Do you think I should really try some diet pills? I heard they can make you poop yourself!

Truthfully, I'm okay with that if the weight comes off.

oooh finally something I know that you don't...

SCOOOORE!!!

In the middle of the night, when you're fast asleep all snug in your bed - the fat fairies sneak in and add the fat to your body... ya know that sand that gets iny our eyes sometimes - taste it -it's really cookie crumbs :)

I'm sure they make depends in your size... save those tighty whities - poop stains are kinda gross at the gym ya know when you're strutting around :)

That sorta makes sense.

Guess I'll buy a nanny-cam and see how she's getting in.

Then I'll boobie trap her ass and starve her to death.

What makes you think the fat fairy is a female?

frank and bob might be in cahoots with him- or that midnight fighting they do might be a way to get you to wake up and fight him off :D

I'll take my crack at it!

You aren't eating enough calories for your current weight, you should only be making a caloric defecit of (was it?) 10% or so.

Carbs are important for the body's energy, and should make up.....(random guess) 30% of daily calories?

And whatever else, I don't really want to try anymore because I can feel the hammer about to be brought down on my head.

I agree on a long term approach, although 10% is a little low.

This is a short-term diet that is low in calories.

One objective of this diet is to eat no carbs and be in ketosis.

Ketosis sounds like it hurts.

Also I have an article that got scanned out of the prevention magazine. It's 3 scanned pages long. Would you be interested in reviewing it for me?

Yeah, I don't know WHY you might be plateaued...but I broke mine by eating cookie dough, obviously. Went from stuck at 170 and doing everything right to eating chocolate chip cookie dough on Saturday and lost five pounds.

Maybe you should try that?

(Disclaimer: The opinions expressed in this post have absolutely no medical or logical reasoning behind them. In fact they make no sense at all, and come from a rambling mind that had coffee this morning. Nevermind.)

This is one of the best reads I've seen on this forum in a long time...

Not so much the whole mockery of it or anything, but purely because Mal assumed it was a mockery at first (correctly) then Steve retorted with a somewhat ambiguous reply, and then Mal fell for it and got serious (incorrectly)... only later to realize he was actually making a mockery of it all in the first place and her original assumption was indeed correct.

In other words... Mal got played. :cheers2::hurray::cheers2:

Hurts.... no.

Sucks.... yes.

Actually, so far ketosis isn't affecting me much. I just miss carbs.

What would you be hoping to get from me after I reviewed it?

Just my opinion?
