So I wanted to start a new miles challenge.These keep me motivated and focused to exercise daily or as much as I possibly can. I guess im a bit competative...heh,heh,heh.

I figure with the christmas holidays and new members and most of us trying to refocus ourselves and get back on track that going from Fruitland Idaho to Garden City Georgia would be a good start.Fruitland representing fruit and Garden City representing our veggies - so this is a healthy eating walk:)

So the rules are simple...

every 30 mins of exercise you do gives you 1 mile(example you lifted weights for 30 mins - that = 1 mile)

45 mins of an exercise is 1.5 miles

It doesn't matter what it is as long as it is physical movement- it can be cardio or weight lifting, walking, yoga...

If you use a machine or a pedomiter that clocks miles than log the miles...

You take your miles post them and then add them to the running total

Please make sure the numbers are even - like rounded to 60 mins, 30 mins or 15 mins...

I hope this is straight forward enough...any questions ask away.

i walked thirty minutes at wal mart, so thats 1 mile. (trav had to clock in at 2, i dont clock in until 4 so i walked around for a while and then i walked for 30 minutes for the sole purpose of exercising :D) Thats normally how the schedule goes, so even if i dont make it to the gym, i still have that!!

One mile for me!! :)

New Total= 2.5 miles
 
I'm in on the walk....I went for a one hour walk with my friend Kim today...(i forgot the pedometer :( ) I can at least count it for 2 miles Michelle :)
 
hehe. So, one the weekends, my gym is only open from 1-6 which sucks, cause i normaly have to be at work at 2 or 4. But, throughout the week it is 24 hours....sooooo, starting tomorrow, I AM GOING TO THE GYM! And im sure i will b able to rack up lots of miles there. :D I have got to get some protein shakes or something because i just never have any energy.

So, this challenge has a total of about 2500 miles right? does anyone think its a good idea to set a deadline for this challenge? Maybe that would get us moving a little more?

Just a suggestion :D

2 hours of cleaning - non stop for work...moving the whole 2 hours - scrubing toilets sweeping nad moppin...

2 hours = 4 miles

New Total = 15 miles

Gotta love those overnight shifts eh Cerella? I hope you are not too wiped out. Ive been awake most of the night too, i should have come helped ya clean...lol

Hi, can I join?! If so, I'll start with yesterday's total walked on the treadmill 3.0 miles and cleaned house 30 minutes non stop moving= 1 mile. Total 4.0 miles.

So far today walked 30 min. =1 mile. Total so far 5 miles.

Yes you can . So you take your 5 miles and add it to the running total which is 15 miles.

New Total = 20 miles
 
Hi all! Thanks for letting me join! This evening I walked on the treadmill=3 miles.
Also grocery shopped and did more cleaning=1mile


NEW TOTAL: 24 MILES
 
Yoga - 30 mins = 1 mile

New Total = 25 miles
