Gift Ideas

I think Evo has it with the flowers, the spa and the sincere note. I bet she would LOVE that.

When I'm right, I'm right.

I would say, don't worry about spending a bunch of money. A thoughtful, inexpensive or free gift will do much more than any expensive item.

Here's the ultimate gift, in my opinion:

Treat her to a home cooked dinner and a romantic evening where all of the attention is on her pleasure and her pleasure alone. It doesn't have to be sappy or corny, just make her feel like her pleasure is important to you.

What if he isn't a good cook and burns the food? Then, he slips and ends up with a concussion. Wouldn't you feel awful for suggesting something like this?

The dinner isn't the most important part of the special evening... The point is to plan a romantic evening that's comfortable for both people.

For all I care, a guy could order take out and present it nicely if he can't cook. It's the thought that counts.

OK, I'm newish around here, but where are you?

Other than the "realm of Hades", I mean! :SaiyanSmilie_anim: I don't even know what continent you're on, so it's hard to give you suggestions!

I'm from the UK

I'm afraid my girlfriend likes 'things' a lot, particularly those things that sparkle or fall into the category of 'fabulous'

lol...that's not what I meant.
I just meant that as husbands/wives/mothers/father/etc we have expectations of things we have to do. We typically don't get special rewards for working every day. We typically don't get special rewards for taking care of our children. It's just what we have to do.
I know that's what we have to do and we don't typically get rewards for it but she's been a mum and going without the things she likes for over 4 years now as we've been really strapped for cash and everything we have goes towards the kids, so I'd like to do something for her that got her to feel like a 24 year old woman who can think about herself for a moment and indulge herself in something selfish for once

I truly think the spa day, some flowers, and a nice note will do that for her. When you have kids (as a mother) you tend to think about their well being all the time and put it before yours. Getting away for a day and not having to think about anyone but yourself, be pampered, and relax is one of the best gifts a mom can get :)

If you think it really necessary to get a bobble, try and find something not too expensive that you can add to the flowers and card.

Man, I'd kill you too! ewww, elastic skirt...*shiver*.....LOL :D

The day at a spa sounds fantastic! (mudd bath, massage, facials...who could resist? :D ) I think Evo has it with the flowers, the spa and the sincere note. I bet she would LOVE that.

And I think he is right, It is never about the money so much as it is about showing you care. Thoughtful gets you a lot farther than cash....at least in my book....

i agree with gotfit on this.

I ended up going with the spa day and night in a hotel with a friend. I was thinking that a night away from getting up every few hours to feed and dealing with 2 kids wanting your attention all day was worth more than all the diamonds in the world

Couldn't agree with you more :D

Hope she has a wonderful and relaxing day!

She's an emotional wreck in general at the moment so she's been close to tears over it, she's spending a lot of time talking about it to friends
