OK, I need some help buying a present

I need to buy something pretty amazing for my girlfriend to make her feel better about being stuck indoors all day with the baby and having a post baby belly and stuff but I don’t know what to get her.

She’s very materialistic (she wouldn’t mind me saying that) so likes high end designer and sparkly things. I can’t buy her clothes or underwear as she won’t stay they same shape for long and she already has lots of Mui Mui shoes and a Marc Jacobs handbag so can’t really trump those.

Any ideas?
 
delegate the responsibility to your daugther.. don't they have some kinda class at school or something where they make stuff? :p

I know you said you can't buy her clothes but something like a skirt with an elastic waist or a pretty shawl is something that she should be able to fit into no matter what size (I have a couple skirts that fit me like a glove whether I weigh 125 or 155). Give it to her and say "I think you would look really hot/sexy/pretty/cute in this". I say this cause it sounds like she may consider herself unattractive right now. I think it's sweet when guys buy me clothing and I consider it a sign that they like how I look.

Or get her a sparkly necklace and say the same thing :D

The kind of thing I'm looking for is a gift so good that as soon as you open it you'd be dropping to your knees.
(but not so good that you'd invite your friend to join you as I don't have that kind of cash ;))

It's basically costume jewellery for Adults, it's very fashionable but you can buy a ring for about $300-400, they also sell crappy little Crystal figurines that old people like, not sure why they do that as well. My daughter loves it in there
 
Why would she kill you? Skirts have elastic waists. that's how they are? It's not a fat or pregnant girl thing....
 
Have you tried a special cologne called Sex Panther by Odeon? It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.

Oh yeah...I've always found girls find it romantic if you bring them a prenup. Protection is sexy
 
She's already had everything of mine worth having so there's no need for a prenup. I think she's just keeping on because I make cute babies and she has another couple planned
 
Why don't you just get her a card, write her a poem, and get her flowers? Maybe get her favorite DVD or CD to listen to.

Just because she likes expensive stuff doesn't mean she doesn't like the little, inexpensive thoughtful things.

Perhaps throw in a gift certificate to a spa and massage and offer to watch the baby while she goes out and gets pampered.

Nah, she isn't into sentimental soppy stuff like most women, she'd rather be watching Die Hard than Titanic

I thought about that one but while she's still breast feeding she can't be away from Ben for longer than a couple of hours. Otherwise that'd be a definate possibility as she's in real need of some time away from the house

This is a tough one for sure!!

Didn't say anything about sappy stuff. A card and flowers plus a short note is nice for anyone.

Get a breast pump. The hospital should've given you one. Anyway, they're awesome. She can pump and store. And that way she can go out for longer than a couple hours without worrying about your kiddo. Plus that way you guys can go out on a date
 
Hmm, it is tempting, I've seen an offer of a spa day for 2 at a pretty cool looking London Spa. The vouchers would be valid for a year so she could go whenever she wanted.

I can't help thinking that she'd rather Diamonds though
