Hey everybody! I figured I would post a slight introduction post because I don't think all of you know me, and I certainly don't know all of you.

I'm 20 years old and going to be a Junior in college this coming fall, however I am going to stretch my education out over five years.. majoring in music education broadfield k-12. I've pretty much always been overweight and had HORRIBLE body image. The summer before my freshman year of high school, I was actually hospitalized for being underweight and I wasn't able to hold food down. No more of that image for me.... it's the healthy way from here on out!

I had three knee surgeries in one this past December and it caused me to fall off the wagon for a while, but I'm back at it! My knee still isn't great.. but I can do most things again. No running or jumping as of right now unless I want to end up back in the hospital, so I'm not even going to attempt.

Look forward to seeing everybody in the thread!

We're all here! Thanks for the intro Radiant - I think this will put a fresh spin on things - gotta keep it exciting!

I apologize again for the delay on posting the Bonus Challenge - I'm slowly but surely making progress at balancing my weight loss efforts with work and life.

I'm a workaholic and a people pleaser, so I spend a lot of time doing for others and putting everything I got into work. Both things are rewarding - but leaves little time for ME.

I did get all my water in yesterday. I haven't figured out what new exercises I'm going to try this week - I'm thinking of trying Yoga. I've always stayed away from it because I like faster paced exercise - but it might be what I need to wind down and relax. Ya never know!

Hope you all are doing well! Have a GREAT Tuesday! :)

I think you will love Yoga!Im not a people pleasure but a busy hqrd working single mom that works nights.Yoga is one thing that makes me wind down and center myself. I never thought that I of all people would like yoga!

So didn't get to update last night because I was in the hospital with my roommate. She has some odd growth on her neck that they haven't identified after six hours in the ER, at a specialist office, or in the hospital in general so today they are doing surgery. Not sure how often I'll be able to check in for a day or two.

Got all my water yesterday but no exercise at all unless you count walking around the hospital... which I don't really haha.

It is great that you are supporting your friend.

You laugh about walking round the hospital - but in my opinion every step of the day does indeed count and turn is into the fitter people that we would like to be. I am a firm believer that pretty much everyone would benefit from wearing a pedometer. I find that just the act of wearing one all day long and checking it encourages me to do more steps which all help.

I have now got to the stage where I expect my pedometer to register that I have done over 11 miles every day. Often I do this in two exercise walks - but I am happy if I get my miles in by just doing one exercise walk and being pretty active the rest of the day.

Are we treatign this thread like our other ones - meaning checking in daily nad posting food ? Or do we still do that in our other one - or not at all, LOL...

ehehehe, well I'll also post a mini intro...

I'm Anke, I'm 20, I am a technical writer - wannabe belly dance teacher....

aaaand I'm well on my way to losing my last few pounds... I really would like to focus on making regular exercise a part of my week.

Later!

I agree with Margaret - every step counts! I hate hospitals just for the environment, but any time I'm in one, I'm beat by the time I get home from all the walking. They make them like a freakin maze.

Cinderelly - its not a requirement to post all your food, but you can still do it if it helps you stay accountable. It's completely up to you at this stage.

I got a 45 min walk in with the dogs last night, and I think I'm gonna try my Yoga tonight. Has anyone else tried anything new yet?

hmmm, I'm thinking about trying pilates tonight.... is there an internet site with good info on that? I'm doing this hundred pushups challenge

And I'm on week 3 of that (but going back to week 1 coz my widdle arms are girly ...humph.)

DO try yoga! I am absolutely in love with it... it leaves me feeling so... centred, aligned... like inside and out. Try some meditation and breathing with it too... actually I think there is something like "breathing yoga".

Anyway, MAD day at work, I'm off. Ciao! :waving:
