Geovicsha's Diary - New Years Resolution.

Gee, that might have been what caused the hangover... How conveniently you forgot to mention that. :D

My H LOVES VB. I guess he's not as classy as you are. :D One of his best buddies is a Carlton Draught fan.

Congrats on hitting the 170s!

To be honest with you, I prefer Carlton Draught on tap but I prefer VB in bottles. I used to LOVE Carlton Draught in bottle but now I'm sick of it.

Carlton Dry is the best out of both of them anyway. Low carb as well. I was drinking them before my diet, and wasn't aware it was low carb until after. Haha!

Thank you very much. :)

are you eating the cabbage just plain old boiled? hmmmmmmmm doesn't sound appetizing :)

Well, I'm not the most skilled when it comes to the kitchen. But the funny thing is, I don't really mind it. I actually had it with my sandwiches yesterday rather than as a snack, tasty. :)

Hey guys, will post Tuesday's diary soon but just have this to say.

I had a slice of Hawaiian pizza tonight. Only one. Oh my God! Haha. All my roomates decided to get some pizza since it was 'Cheap Tuesday'.

Since I started this in late December/early January, I've never had one major craving. Not for chocolate or burgers or chips or pizza.

But tonight was different, it was such a huge craving. I felt guilty at first for doing so, however I thought about it and remember reading on the forum how a small "cheat meal" can set the body off tangent so it doesn't become so used to the new healthy nutrient.

So no, no regrets. It was not one large pizza as I used to enjoy pre-2008, but only one slice, and I'm quite aware it's a one off.

So congratulations or abuse from all of you are in order. :)

You are rocking and rolling Shannon! Don't worry about the pizza, a few extra calories for you at your age and weight is just fine. As a guy you can cheat a bit without it going straight to your ass!

As for the drinking, damn! I used to drink like that with all my guy buddies. I'm a light weight now since I had my little girl. I don't even enjoy drinking more than one or two now.

Amy: Hello teammate, haha. :D Thanks for the words about the gym, I'm going to check out a gym this week, it's my promise to all of you. Until lately I've been very good with my exercise, going on daily jogs that last for about 70mins so I can easily get in the 5 hours. My legs are ACHING since the concert still, but they are slowly healing. I must have pulled a muscle or something. Whooo a trainer in our team, MILF more like TILF. :D

Kim: I slept the hungover off and feel fine and dandy like sour candy. Very energetic. :) Amanda is a good friend of mine, I doubt she's girlfriend material since she has had a 2 year relationship until last week so she's a bit down. Although I did drunkingly kiss her on Thursday night, something I somewhat regret and which is a different story for a different time.

Lol! I was a trainer a LONG time ago. I hope to do it again one of these days but have a lot of self-improvement first.

Be sure to stretch often, it will help work out the soreness in those muscles. Enjoy the gym, I know you'll like it!

So you kissed this girl? She is obviously a sweetie if she's hanging out with you. Did she kiss you back? Did it make things weird between the two of you? Sorry, I'm being nosy. :D

Yeah I'm stretching prior and after I go on my jogs. :)

Thanks about the pizza, it worked out to be about 290 cals according to most sites.

Well it was a mutal kiss, a drunken one at that. And no it didn't make things weird. Haha, anymore questions!? :biggrinjester:

Hi Shannon!
Don't worry too much about the gain. Just give it time, you'll see it go down. There's no way you can gain if you're eating healthy and exercising. Keep on track and it will be ok. :)

*hugs*

India

I'm pretty sure the recent weight gain is due to water retention caused by sodium. That sweet and sour stirfry probably had a ton of sodium in it--as does the Subway and the pizza. Drink extra water and cut back on the sodium, and you should be good for Friday's weigh in. :)

H buys VB by the slab..lol. But as he spends most of his time in the U.S. where the only Aussie beer available is Fosters, he sticks to mostly American beer.

If you have any interest in the girl you drunkenly kissed, be her shoulder to cry on, and you'll get big pts..lmao. You'll be dating her before you know it. :sifone:

Reached a new low today of 80.8kg. Not only is this my new low and first time in the 80's, it's my biggest drop (1.8kg/4lb) in a single day since I started.

I went on my jog today and when I was furtherest away from home my stomach was playing up on me, I think it might have been food poisoning. Needless to say I had to cut it short by about 10 minutes as a new priority arose.

Thanks India, and you were indeed right. I'm at 80.4kg now.

Subway has sodium in it? It was simply some salad and some wheat bread, where would all the sodium be?

I'm sure he can import the VB! Surely! Yeah I'm not a big fan of Fosters, most American's assume Australian's love it when in reality nobody ever drinks it.

I don't really have any interest in her. But that being said, wouldn't me being her shoulder to cry on make me into somewhat of an Haha. :D

I'm over half way to my goal now, and is it still common when over half way to still have the man breasts, love handles and belly? Although they have probably reduced, they are still there? Do things become much more noticeable in the final stages of weight loss, since you're losing more body percentage % as the weight decreases?

A bit scared here.

You'd be surprised where sodium lies. A 6" wheat bread from Subway has 360mg of sodium--which isn't much, but it does add up when combined with other high sodium foods. Also, the salads that have meat in them have over 1000mg of sodium. You didn't state whether or not yours did. If it was a veggie salad, then low sodium--but the dressing does have sodium, too. I used to eat chicken salads from McD's a lot until I found out there is nearly 2,000mg of sodium in one of them.

You cannot get VB here. I'm pretty sure they don't export it. My manager has been trying to get it here for years b/c it annoys him that he can't serve my H his favorite beer at his annual Christmas party. We've also looked in various beer import stores--none. Trust me, if it was to be had in the States, my manager would've found it--he is very determined..:D

Anyway, congrats on the new low! :hurray::hurray:

As to the man boobs, well, being female, I don't want to lose mine...hahah. I think it will all go away in good time. I can't remember if you do strength training or not, but that could help. I'd say that if you still have those issues once you get to your goal weight, doing a bit of bulking might help with that--tone things up. You can't build muscle while in a caloric deficit, so it's not gonna happen atm. :) I'm halfway to my goal, and I still have lots of areas that plague me. ;)

I'm seriously surprised with the sodium, Subway wise. I had spaghetti bolognese tonight and got a sauce with much less sodium, but still won't be surprised of any gains.

Yeah I guess it will all go down in time, sometimes I'm a very impatient person though.

Thanks Kim, you've been great. :)

You definitely need to incorporate some weight training into your schedule. It will tighten up those problem areas and muscle burns more cals than fat. After cardio, you continue to burn calories for a bit while your body cools down. After a weight training workout, you continue to burn cals for awhile longer than after cardio. This is due to your body working to rebuild the muscle fibers you just broke down. I have a few articles on this somewhere on my computer that will explain it better. I'll try to find them for ya!

You did awesome this week. I'm glad Kim put you with us!

Thanks Amy, we did awesome!

I have two dumbbells at home, and a heavy weight. Should I do them before OR after cardio, do you reckon? How often? How frequently? I'm a newbie when it comes to weight training.

Cheers!

Weight train 3 times a week while working each body part twice each week. Ab workouts can be done with each weight training session. As whether or not to do it before or after cardio, I've read articles defending both. I prefer to do them after but lately experts are saying to do them before.

Try going to and check it out. It has TONS of fitness tips and how-to videos and articles. Be sure to work every body part each week because it's easy to leave out certain muscles. I work every body part with each workout, I just change up how I do it.

I can give you some killer ab workout techniques if you like. I learned from a pro, he was a bodybuilder and was Mr. Arkansas 4 different times and competed in professional bodybuilding competitions. He trained me for 2 years to compete in the Miss. Arkansas figure competition but I got injured right before the event. It took so long to recover and go through physical therapy that I just lost interest. But that was AGES ago, I just want to get back to my old self again, slim and physically fit. The fit part is happening so now I'm trying to get the bodyfat off.

You can work pretty much any body part with hand weights but may get bored with it. Check out that website and they'll give you some new and fun techniques to keep it interesting.

We did do awesome this past week. We have a title to defend so we need to amp it up a little! Go MILF Battlers!
