Cohen's Lifestyle Geo's weightloss journey

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Oh Geo. How mean & rude! We have something else in common as I felt like murdering my MIL yesterday! We married their son's & are serious rivals. They don't like that. You will show her (& more importantly show yourself) xoxo Cate

cate, we have Monsters-in-law...i was only finally able to talk abt it today and that too in here...i tend to not say anything when i am very hurt. i didn't even bother telling my husband abt it....MIL would probably say, "Oh i didn't mean to," or "your wife's being very sensitive"...i'm gonna direct my energy to better use...anyway, got back from the supermarket about 2 hours ago...weighed out my food portions for monday through friday...and i've cooked them coz i have super busy week ahead...everything's foil wrapped and in the freezer. just have to weigh my veggies before each meal...boy it was confusing...last saturday & sunday wasn't this confusing as i cooked just before the meals...today i prepared 10 portions (plus 4 non-cohen portions for hubby)
monday will be day one again...i'm having problems getting fresh fish...the supermarkets sell mostly the mackerel and salmon varieties...and when i found threadfin fish, the fishmonger said i had to get the whole fish...it weighed 2.5kg, that's was almost $40...i got calamari and canned tuna instead..probably have to drive out to other markets... my feet's aching from the marathon cooking..i'm gonna catch up on other posts..will get some rest and then i'm off for the eastr vigil...catch you all later...

Geo- My LH is well aware of his mother's shortcomings(te he-she's 4'11"!) & is very supportive of me. They can't get their mothers to change. We have to deal with it. Family is so important that I wouldn't want to put a wedge between my husband & his family. I find it best to have a talk about it to her when I have calmed down sufficiently (usually many days later) & no-one else is about.
You have been very busy! I ate so many cans of tuna on Cohen's & so many meals the same that I am very impressed! Cheers, Cate.

Hehe Cate, i like the pun on "shortcomings". I'll probably talk to her about it when I am ready. Anyway, I am back at work today. My students missed me. I am touched. Today was Day 1 of the programme. Had plain yogurt for breaky. Now i'm having my crackers with some black coffee. Bought some White Tea over the weekend but left those at home. I love white tea, it's my new favourite. I was on a heavy duty tea shopping over the weekend. I bought camomile, peppermint, white tea, japanese green tea, earl grey tea and good old english breakfast tea...sounds crazy i know but i do get bored easily, esp with food. So the variety is great for me. Be back later. Have a glorious Monday everyone!

I'm having my lunch break now...i am starved...teaching zaps the energy out of me...lunch was pan grilled beef and mushrooms. I had one cracker from allowance to go with that. saving the other for 4pm. and then 1 more at dinner. although i am hungry, i feel good about it...less guilt too for i didn't stuff my face into a packet of rice...gonna refill my water bottle before i head up for class again. adios!

I wish I had started the programme over the weekend...it's just so tough doing this at work...i feel weak but i still have to go till 6pm today...sheesh! talk about work-life balance...i'm getting emotional. I think it was alot easier doing this over the weekend. last weekend when i attempted to begin the programme, it was a breeze...at least i could sleep when i felt weak....now i can't coz i have 40 enthusiastic kids waiting for me...how could i let them down? feeling so sleepy....decided to read some of the diaries for inspiration..

Oh dear geo, You poor thing! I hope you get a good night's sleep & feel better tomorrow, xo Cate

YES! I survived Day One at work....got home from work around 7pm..Had my grilled chicken with spinach and an orange. Now i'm full....I enjoyed a relaxing cup of white tea...I weighed myself before i took my shower and realised that over the month, I dropped 1 kg. I'm sure it had everything to do with the Big Toe Incident. Nevertheless I am motivated. Hubby had pizza for dinner and I wasn't tempted at all. :)I've got one last cracker left. Will have that in a bit. I think i'm gonna space out my fruit allowance tmr during the day when I need the most energy. I must remember to pack those lovely tea bags...the black coffee at the pantry was horrible....i shall stop here and try to get to bed early today....the consultant at the clinic did say that after day 3, i would have alot of energy..i shall focus on that...meanwhile, good night folks. muacks!

Well done Geo on completing Day 1 successfully. Every day that you do so give yourself credit for being strong. Every day gets a little easier. Spreading your fruit & crackers out during the day really does help sustain your energy levels. I used to have mine together about an hour before a meal was due. How many of each are you allowed? xo Cate

good day, cate. i'm allowed 2 fruits and 5 crackers. how much were you allowed when you were on the programme? I brought 2 apples and 4 crackers to work today. Breakfast was yogurt at 6.45am. I think i'm gonna stick with yogurt every weekday morning coz it's the easiest to prepare at that time of the day when i'm half awake...Now i'm having a cup of earl grey before the madness starts...i'm free till 9.30am...one hour left. catch you all at lunch time. Have a good day, everyone.

It's almost 6pm and I'm leaving the office in about 10 mins...gonna head home to make some calamari and button mushroom soup. The hunger pangs weren't that bad today..the set in about half an hour ago and for most of the day i was alright..catch ya all later.

Hi Geo. Apples can make you hungry so just be aware of that. I don't eat apples on an empty stomach but find they are good with yoghurt. The number of fruit & crackers vary, depending on how much you have to lose I think. I had 36kgs to lose. Best I not tell you ;) Well done sweets xo Cate

i'm having a tough situation with the fruits, cate. I'm allowed mostly citrus...and i can't have those on an empty stomach either...and you are right about the apples. They do make me hungry...so i'll just have to combine them with a meal...i saved one fruit allowance for dinner. So i didn't have the 2nd apple. I had an orange after dinner with my cracker allowance. I'm satisfied now...having soup (clear broth actually) helped as well...i'm probably going to hit the sack soon....and I survived DAY 2!

cheers!
geo

Well done Geo on surviving day 2! Can you buy Mangoes? Citrus may not feel filling but will supply sugar to your system when you need it & should not make you hungry. Eating an orange with crackers seems to help fill me. xoC

hey cate, mangoes are not in season where i live...i'll drive out this weekend to get them at another market. had a tomato omelette this morning. That seems to be working better than the yogurt. i packed my 5 cracker allowance for work today. Just want to see if that's effective...i haven't drunk coffee since Monday...to be frank, i'm not missing it. I guess the bad coffee machine was a put off...so that's good..i feel good as i feel light...this morning i was able to say no to fererro rochers at work :) i would usually pop them in my mouth at the sight of them. haha...i saw some fried chicken in my fridge yesterday but i didn't want to have them either. :p so this is good...will pop in later

had a wonderful dinner....chicken and green leafy vegetable soup...a bowl of soup is just so comforting after a hard day's work....
by the way, cate I went to the chinese supermarket after work and saw some Thai honey mangoes! i enjoyed them after dinner...shall have them tomorrow as well...

Hi Geo,

I hope your toe is getting better! I had to chuckle to myself,(sorry not laughing at your pain) but your story was just so much something that would happen to me :) and it was like reading something out of my own life!
I'm still waiting for my plan, and still excited. Please tell me your starting to feel better after your day 3?!
You'll need to keep me posted how you go with doing the plan while teaching, Im starting my teaching rounds on Monday... scared and really excited at the same time!
Very proud that you rejected the chocolate. :hurray: keep up the good work, it will be well worth it in the end!

Hey sal, my toe is getting better by the day...still have to wear the open toe sandals to work though...today is DAY 4 and you know what? I FEEL FANTASTIC! I didn't even feel the hunger pangs! and i feel energised...usually by 2pm (which is when i end my lessons) i would be zombified....today i'm feeling good....you can do this sal! i'm having lunch now...grilled chicken and mushrooms...got to go now...i'm having a meeting...

Aunt flo is visiting and i'm bloated!! and a bad case of water retention...well i'm having mixed feelings abt Aunt Flo since i do suffer from PCOS...i hope that with the weightloss on cohen, my periods will more regular...they were regular when i was within the acceptable weight range...i'm relaxing with a nice cup of peppermint tea...dinner was chicken soup..tomorrow's friday and i'm doing fish and mushrooms..this weekend i'm going to have to source for other vegetables...probably get cucumber or asparagus..when i weighed myself this morning i was 83.1...i'm guessing alot of that is water retention...i'll weigh myself in a couple of days..
