Venija, thank you so much! I just hope i start improving soon or i will be asking to have it deflated and removed.:ack2:

I am lying in bed feeling very sorry for myself, and wondering how things got so out of control that i needed to resort to this for weight loss.:cry:

Have you stopped vomiting yet?:puke: I really need this to stop when i return to work, it would be too embarassing in front of my customers. I am self employed so cant take any more time off work.

I know exactly how you feel... it was the same for me... feeling desperate and wanting to cry because of constant pain, nausea, vomiting, nerves go weak after day or two... I was so bad I couldn´t even think about going online and reading sth. I was sad, patetic and mad at the same time. And of course I wanted it out badly!

Hold on, things will improve... I vomited for three days, the fourth I just had nausea and the fifth I started getting better. It`s not the same for every one but my doctor said that most of the patients have the worst period the first three days and then the stomach starts accepting the balloon.

You`ll be fine, just be strong and persistent!

;)

Yes, i will stick it out for now, thanks.

had a glass of milk earlier, it went down well but didnt stay down for more than an hour.:puke: I like that smiley!

I am getting worried that i am dehydrated from vomiting everything up again.:(

B Baby,
I am at 3 months and have only lost about 12lbs. Very depressed. I have finally gone back to the DR and am going to see a dietican for the next 3 months to work on my meal plans. I'm planning to stick with it and see how the remaining 3 months go.
It is like my body has adapted to the Ballon and does not make me sick or make me overly full when I am eating. After the first 4 weeks, I was back to my normal self. Even went in for an xray to check it was still there and not deflated.
Good luck and wish you all the best

Glad you are feeling better Harmony. It's going to be three weeks for me tomorrow. I was going to go right back to work but I was just feeling to bad. I took a week off after I got my balloon. I was not walking enough and I had bad gas pains. I went back to work last week. I have lost 20 lbs (9 kg) I haven't weighted this week because I weigh weekly and my week starts on Wednesday. I had buyer's remorse for the first 10 days after the procedure. I wanted to rip the balloon out myself I was so uncomfortable. I can eat a weigh watchers tv dinner with no problem and I have no problem with fruit. Omeprazole and reglan or my best friends.:hurray:

Hi usdusk, and well done on the 20lb! Thats great in 3 weeks!

I have decided that i am gonna stick to the diet shakes for the foreseeable future, i want to loose as much as possible. I have about 6-7 stones to loose. So far i havent been hungry, so i may as well take advantage!

Know what you mean about the drugs; i am on lanzoprosole, but i think i will get some gaviscon tomorrow.

Still no vomiting! :hurray: Not sure i will be well enough for work on Wed though. Good luck with your weigh in usdusk!

Hi to everyone
Im new, i had a gastric balloon inserted 10 days ago & thankfully not been feeling too bad only had one day of sickness a couple of days ago, think it was because i went onto solid foods to early & feel full to the thoart with fluid, My real problem seems to be anxiety, has anyone else experienced this, things like Oh my god what have i done, will it harm me, when can i get it out, boredom, lack of concentration is this normal, is it just early days, any advice would be helpful
Well done to everyone who has lost weight
Bexsy x

Hi Bexsy,

I am a few days behind you, but i feel slightly anxious and edgy too. Venija says she felt nervy as well. Guess its just a side effect and will subside eventually. How much have you lost so far?

Hi Harmony
Thanks for your reply, by my scales i've lost 9lb which is great, have been drinking cuppa soups & peppermint tea, glad i've found this forum its good to hear how others are getting on, & for moral support.
Bexsy

Congrats on the 9lb, brill!

I'm glad i came across this thread too, its great to hear others experiences.

The thing i am really hating atm is the BURPING! I sound like a ladette, which i am most definately not! My customers wont be impressed either, when i return to work. Hope it stops soon!

Hi there,

I'm a South African living in London and would like to get this procedure done in South Africa where I can have my family around me because I'm sure I will need their support. They are based in Cape Town. Can anyone recommend a reputable clinic/hospital where they had this done and how much did it cost? I'd really appreciate some help.

Hi how is everyone doing
I've had the balloon in two weeks now and have lost a stone, don't no where from still feel bloated, Is anyone still having side effects, is everyone on solid food now, it would be good to hear from everyone to compare notes.
Bexsy

Hi Bexsy, and well done on the stone!

I am 10lb down a week later, which i am chuffed with. I was sick earlier today, first time since day 3, but i did have a glass on wine last night.:eek:

I am still burping massively, i wonder whether this will settle eventually? I am also more tired than usual! I wonder if this is because of the sedation a week ago? Could also be the rubbish weather.

Also, i have been constipated! Sorry, TMI i know!

Hi Harmony
Well done 10lb thats great!
R U feeling any better, i guess you'll be avoiding alcohol for a while. Hows your eating going? r u still going to stick to milkshakes or have you tried solid food, i read that you have 6 stone to lose, same as me, i hope to lose 3-4 stone with the balloon then im on my own, still having regrets, not sleeping to well so like you more tired than normal, im sure it will pass. try to keep sipping water im sure that will help with the constipation.
Did you manage to go back to work ok?
All these questions, just nice to share the experince with someone as haven't told friends or family about balloon as i know they'll say im crazy and worry.

Hi everyone!

Happy to see you making progress with the balloon.:)

I´m kind of sad. I`ve totally accepted the balloon, actually my body did. Like I don`t even have it in. I can eat anything, and the quantity is huge.
I feel I`m on my own, just like before.

Lost 9 lbs in a month.

Hi Venija
9lb is Great, try to remain positive im sure you'll get there. Do you have alot of weight to lose?
Do you get any support from the hospital or family?
Keep chatting with everyone on here for moral support.

Hi ladies!

I am having 2 shakes a day and a meal, which is a bit of a learning curve atm. I had salad on Sat eve, and was sick Sun morn, then did the same Sun eve and was sick again this morn! Yuk! Mind you, i did have pot salad, coleslaw, a bit of ham and cheese as well as lettuce cuc toms etc. However, when i tried bacon and eggs last week it stayed down a treat! Therefore i think i need to do Atkins when i eat. Boring but necessary. When i can do it i will stick to the shakes, but 'mentally' hungry in the eve, IYKWIM!

As for work, i went back last Wed, day 5, as intended. It was tough, but i managed. I have been working today no probs.

I am having no trouble sleeping!

IKWYM about telling friends and family, i havent either, except my bf. I cant decide why though, i think its the money side of it, ie it cost loads. Plus i think i want them to think that i did it by myself:confused::confused:
Wots all that abaaaaaat then?? I must be messed in the head!

Veny, 9lb in a month is great! After 6 months it will be 54lb, or 4 stone ish! Great!

Venija,
Completely know how you feel. I got the balloon in May. Lost 12lbs right away. But after the first month have lost nothing. After feeling very bad for 4 weeks, I just started to feel fine and have no issues with eating regular food with very limited impact on quantity.
I have finally decided to sign up a dietician recommended by my Dr to help me develop an eating plan to get back on track. I have 3 months to go and am determined to maximise the time. Good luck.

Hi everyone

Today will be 3 weeks since I've got my baloon.I still can't eat solid food, and if I eat anything 4 hours later I am sick.Rather violently but fine as soon as I throw up.I really wonder if this is going to be same all 6 months, becouse its not very healthy. The portions I tried to eat are tiny and I am chewing food, but it doesn't help.WIll see a doctor next week.I lost around 7 kg,which is great, but would love to eat little bit.I am never hungry and my baloon is 550cc.What kind of milkshakes is Beksy having maybe I should try them.I am taking vitamis every morning along with some tablets for my stomac acid.
Thank everyone and good luck:hurray:
