From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Just sending over some kind thoughts and a Jedi hug.

Hi my neglected WLF friends!

I'm less a gall bladder and up 50 pounds from my lowest from 245 to 295. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things with the diet and posting. The gastritis, although much improved, is still an intermittent problem as is the back, but I'm hanging in there. Work is busy, but going very well. I discovered a new bald eagles' nest within a cluster (group of trees for nesting) of the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Pretty crazy find and I got to watch them build their nest for a while.

I'm still running daily and working on increasing the running and cycling by the time daylight saving happens next Sunday.

:hurray: Good to hear from you! :hurray:
Improvement on the gastritis front sounds like something worth celebrating and those pesky pounds will start falling by the wayside again now. Finding a bald eagle's nest must be exciting
:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Q? :D Great to hear from you. I'm glad that you the gastritis is improving. It is lovely having you back again!
How exciting to find a bald eagle's nest. I love eagles. I hope their nest is in a very safe place. If I found one here I would let Parks & Wildlife know, but otherwise, keep very quiet about it. Did you find it out in the field at work or near your home? How's E going?

Hello LaMa!
Hello Cate!
Hello Cory!

Cate, the eagle data will become part of the public record since it is in a National Forest. It's a federal crime to disturb or harm them and they are safe from development in their immediate area.

I've had to give up coffee and that really sucks on a Monday. Unlike before, coffee is consistently giving me an acute reaction.

With my weight this high my asthma and back are nagging problems. I'm going in the right direction, but I'm pretty low at the moment. I think I'm going to just drink water for the foreseeable future, up the running and lower my calories. I'm working on forming the habit of counting calories and weighing regularly.

I started up Mr. Vee's weight loss model again and I'm glad to be back!

It´s weird how many things are impacted by (over)weight. Well, probably not weird but mind-boggling nonetheless. How much do you run right now?

I'm running the minimum mile each day, but I'm trying to increase. I did 1.5 miles yesterday and feel fine. My goal is to run a 5K distance this weekend as well as more than a mile most days this week.

Re: the Eagles' nest. Your penalties are probably much higher than ours. It's nice to think that they are fairly safe. I can't believe that anyone would think about shooting such magnificent birds, but I know that they do.
I'm so glad that you are back Q :D

QQQQQ,,

Nice to see you back. Sorry to hear about the problems you have been having. Good to see you are getting right back at it!!

You know what? I´m no runner, as you know, but I´m going to try for a streak as well. Starting today. Not a mile, because I couldn´t do that daily right away, but a km a day for now. Let´s see if I can keep up :)

Cate, stiff penalty or not, you can't legislate stupidity. We all have those types.

Cowboy and Tru, it's good to hear from you both and thanks!

That makes me happy LaMa! A K a day is a great idea. Don't push on the speed at all to give your body time to adjust. What you're doing should get too easy before you step up your pace.

I've been drinking tea to help me through the no coffee. I've had some diet soda too and today is the first day of just water and it sucks! This is round two of caffeine withdrawal as I had headaches and grogginess when I stopped coffee and now again with getting rid of the rest of caffeine.

I feel you on the caffeine addiction. That'll be the next thing I tackle, but I'm just trying to get back to eating a reasonably amount right now and cutting out the soda. Not quite ready to give up the tea and coffee yet.

I´m still working on the diet coke. My only source of caffeine, my only soda and my only artificial sweetener. Not ready to get rid of it yet as long as I can keep the amount reasonable. Will wait for my stomach to get a little less full and then head out for my first k :)

When we owned a pub(bar) we got to serve some truly stupid people (as well as lots of lovely, smart ones).
Re: caffeine. I used to drink a lot of caffeine, but now only have a couple of espressos first thing in the morning & then none for the rest of the day. Do you like peppermint tea?

I feel better this morning and I slept really well. I do have lots of herbal tea stuff and I like making wild teas too. I' just sticking with water to break the habit with the caffeinated drinks. I like licorice, ginger, star anise, and tumeric tea for my stomach. I have fennel too, but I haven't made any in a while. Just water is good for now.
