Cohen's Lifestyle Fornight - Health Journey

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Since I received my coastal scents 88 eyeshadows pallette last sunday, I decided that this week will be the week for me to play with my eye makeup.

My office makeup has always been minimum but since Monday I started to put on more interesting colours.

I started monday with safer colours such as the beige series with a little bit of shimmer. Today I tried my hand with brown series and managed to actually enlarge my eyes a bit. Tomorrow I might try out some romantic eye look like lavender and purple. It is so much fun now getting ready for work.

I notice that I have not done any "big business" in the toilet for almost 3 days! I am pretty sure I am drinking enough water so it must be the fruit problem. I usually have mango for my fruits but today I substitute my fruit allowance with one apple. I really hope the apple will smooth thing up.

me too!!

Hey fortnight

:iagree: I just LOVE make-up!!! I am a big fan of the YSL brush foundation and Dior eyeliner (with smudger) and mascara. This way you can get that wide eye look and it lasts all day! I think if I wasn't a designer I would be a make-up artist it would just be the most wonderful and pleasing job I think :)

Apples are supose to make you more regular so I dont think that would be the problem? Maybe try cooking them and leaving their skins on and try some Medamucil or Psylimin husks?

xxnicole

Nickychick - I love makeup too! I don't care if people call me shallow for being interested in makeup because I really think makeup is essential in a girl's life. My favourite brands are mostly japanese brands. I find them more suitable on my Asian skin tone and texture. I also love makeup forever aqua eyeliner pencils. They last and last. I have a friend who love Dior eyeliner too! I prefer pencil because of the soft look but I do use liquid for "under eye line". I have asian eyelashes so they are really short, fine and very thin. I am a mascara fanatics. I love Chanel mascara but they are really expensive.

I am starting to think my constipatient could be due to TOM. I saw a bit of spotting yesterday and today which means my TOM is going to come soon. According to my record, it should arrive tomorrow or friday. I need to start planning for a relaxing weekend. Actually I already have plans. My friend intro me to putting on false eyelashes but I need to practise!! Putting false eyelashes are a big thing among the girls in singapore nowadays.

Hi fornight,

Yea, TOM is a pain... plan how best to ease yourself into the weekends. Anyway, all the best fellow Singaporean. Will tune in regularly to see your progress. Oh, happy playing with your make up :)

Flamie:- I just finish reading your diary. I really enjoy it and I think it really help me a lot toknow there is a fellow singaporean who is also on this diet. this is just a wild guess. The friend who intro you to Cohen, is she Hazel? The reason I ask is because she is also a teacher and she has fantastic results on Cohen.

today has been relatively slow for me in the office. I almost thought my ToM will start today because when I took a leak, I saw "red". In the end, it was just another spotting. I am feeling a bit bloated today so I will expect the office "red" day to arrive tomorrow.

The admin dept finally get me a keyboard tray to install under my table today. I have been asking for it for months and they always try to patronize me about not being able to find the right supplier etc. I got so mad and tired of waiting for them that I decided to take things in my own hands. I managed to get some recommendation from my Chiropractor and then I managed to find the distributor of the keyboard tray in singapore via internet google. I wrote an email to the admin dept (copied in my boss) and then provide them all the information (model number, distributor address and telephone number).

Then I called my boss and explained to him the whole situation (he was working in Perth office during then). He knew about my back problem and told me he will try to "use his influence" to make the admin dept work faster. Almost immediately after talking to him, he wrote to the manager of admin and told him he will approve the purchase of the keyboard tray.

The above happened two weeks ago and today the keyboard tray was finally installed under my table. I can now work in a more ergonomically friendly work environment.

Another happy note, I am wearing a top that was supposedly tight on me when I tried on 1 month ago. Today the top is not exactly loose but just nice. The most important note is the arm areas. I have a triangle bodyshape where my shoulders are broader than my hips. My arms are the flabbiest part of my body. The arms part of today's top used to be REALLY tight on my arms but today it is just nice with a little bit of space to move around. This alone is making my day worthwhile.

I went for my chiropractic session today too and saw one of my doctor's patients. He is a baby who is only a few months old. I was shocked to know that my doctor also perform adjustment on infants! Apparently this baby has not been eating or sleeping well and my doctor found out that it is due to his back misalignment.

Our TV broke down big time today. We have already ordered a new TV but it will only arrive this Saturday. I have to miss my "biggest loser" reality TV shows. I like the show.

Hi fornight,

Nope, I don't know Hazel. My fren who intro me to the programme is not a teacher :). Nonetheless, I'm grateful to her for introducing to me a life-changing programme. Thanks for reading my diary... actually it is incomplete cos the complete one is on another forum which i don't think it is nice to put down here. I'm more active over there although I started here initially as there are more Singapore Cohenites over there.

Anyway, continue to plough on the journey. it will not fail you if you don't fail it :)

Happy weekend, Fornight - I'll be away, so hang in there and stick with it! You'll be in skinny land in no time! My flabby arms are taking the most annoyingly long time to shed the fat too, but hey, as long as it goes eventually, I'm happy! I think they are my "Mum" arms (and now "Nanny" arms from so much grandchild holding!).

Niyah:- It is funny that you say the mummy arms have turned into Nanny's arms. I always tell people I have burly sailor arms minus the hair.

Today marked the completion of my 3rd week in Cohen. Yes, I am still holding back from weighing myself. I was right. My TOM starts today. I am glad actually. That means when I go to the Cohen office for my weigh-in next week, it will not be distorted by TOM distortion.

I finally cleared my bowel today - rock hard! I think I must remember to up my water intake during the week before my TOM. I am drinking approx 3 litre a day so it should be enough. I am guessing the body is trying to prepare for TOM so reserve the water for "something else" and that is why my stool is not soft enough. It is just one of my wild guesses.

Thank you Yukio for your encouragement!

Yesterday was supposed to be my TOM 2nd day and it should be the heaviest day for TOM. Interestingly it became rather moderate. In fact I think my flow is lesser than normal. Today is my 3rd day but it looks like it is going to end soon.

I am a little bit worried. Am I going to menopause soon or what because it is so little flow? I am only 33 yrs old.

When I was growing up, I always have at least 3 days of heavy flow and 3 days of really light flow. Ever since I reached 28yrs old, the flow became lesser - 2 days of heavy flow with 3 days of light flow. This time is like 1 day of heavy and 2 light flow!!!! Does it mean my fertility will be affected? I am not sure if I want to be pregnant in future but I will hate to have the choice taken from me.

Fornight- Cohen's was initially developed to help women stabilise their hormones with the aim of getting pregnant so I would stop worrying on that account. Be happy that they are not so heavy! The more you worry the more you worry. Relax & enjoy the ride, xo Cate

You're Doing So Well

Hi Fornight,
Congrats on your progress so far.
I'm almost done with week 1 and feeling good.
I am finding though that I am bored because I
don't want to go out too much. Every social gathering
in my life involves food and alcohol!
It's not easy.
By the way, my period has temporarily stopped before when
I've lost lots of weight. I really wouldn't worry.
If you are that worried, you can get a blood test to
check your fertility or at least that your hormones are
at the right levels.
28+1

Oh yes, you are right. I forgot about that! Thank you for putting me back to perspective!

I understand the boreness but luckily I am a person who is used being alone. Yes, I do like spending time with my friends but it is getting lesser than since I am on the diet. I still do go out lunch with colleagues etc but I eat my lunch in the office and then go out to have coffee or tea while they eat.

Today is a slow and warm day for me. I got up early as usual to attend my saturday chiropractic session. This time I brought along my crackers. I was hungry last week when I went for the session.

The happy thing today was I was able to wear another top that used to fit me just right but today, it fits loose. It feels so great to know that your jeans are actually hanging on loose on you.

I think I need to re-organize my wardrobe tomorrow. I have a bunch of clothes that I used to wear when I was on Cohen the last time. I probably need to pull them out so that I can start wearing them. To tell you the truth, I AM EXCITED!!! I have to remind myself to chill because this is still the early stage. I still have a long way to go.

I almost broke my promise and jumped on the scale to see how much I have lost so far. Luckily I supressed the urge. It is really hard to do that today. I am not sure why......I also have an urge to buy a fancy scale from Tanita today but I told myself I will only buy it when I reach 65kg.

Update today:-

I did not manage to clean the wardrobe but I did went for manicure and pedicure. I saw the ladies did fabulous job on gel extension and nail art. I was tempted to do it but it is quite expensive. I told myself once I reach 60kg, I will give myself a treat and do a full blast gel/nail art manicure!!! Bling Bling on my nails!!!

I know I wrote that I will only buy Tanita Scale when I reached 65kg but this urge to buy a new weighing scale is getting stronger and stronger. No, I have not bought it yet.

I think it is mainly got to do with the upcoming 4weekly weigh-in. I am so anxious to know how much I have lost. I keep thinking I should get the new scale now so that from then onwards, I am using the same scale for consistency - trying to justify myself!!!

I have been smiling a great deal today. Why? Because my double chin has shrunk!!!! I no longer need to worry about my face looking big and round when I smile. I took quite a few headshots using my hp camera today and all of them show that the double chin has finally retreached behind the REAL chin.

Well done Fornight. Good riddance double chin!! Mine went too & I loved seeing it go.I think I actually had 3! LOL. You are doing well! Cheers, Cate

Hi Cate! Thanks for dropping by.

By the way, I need a favour from you. I am thinking of reading some books to prevent any binging etc - mind problems. I want to make sure my mind changes in the same pace as my eating habits. It seems like the two highly recommended books are Think Slim by Mark Stephen and Beck Diet Solution by Judith S.Beck.

I remember reading somewhere that you have read both books. In your opinion, which book will be easy to start with?

If you have other books to recommend, do fire away.

Thank you in advance.
