Fluff's not-so-fluffy diary

Hi Fluff :) You can borrow the attitude any time you like ( Sometime I may need to borrow yours :) ) Congrats on the loss! Don't that make you wanna keep on goin'?! I love it when that happens :D

As for shoes, I always buy cross trainers as I need the extra support and the cushioning is usually better. They usually weigh more though so your legs may get tired faster. "Walking" shoes are usually lighter (probably due to the slightly lesser cushioning). Also, I use a different pair for exercising than for everyday wear so that the cushioning lasts longer. When i get a new pair, they automatically become my "exercisers" and the old ones become my new everyday pair. This way the cushioning in my exercise pair is always "fresh".

Keep up the good work! Consider the attitude lent to you :D :D

Thanks Bize! I will be borrowing that attitude quite a bit! I think I may go this weekend and look for some shoes. I like your idea about keeping the exercising shoes just for exercising, and not for everyday use. I think I may try that. I guess I will try both the walking ones and the cross training ones and see what I like. Thanks for the great advice. :)

I did ok with my eating today. I hovered somewhere close around 1500 calories. I didnt exercise at all today...I just took a break from it. My legs were very happy about it too. But tomorrow I am back to my regular routine. The pedometer goes back on as well.

I have really been making an effort to drink more water. I am finding I dont mind it too much, as long as I keep the water cold. The only problem is that I feel like I am going to the bathroom all day long. Its driving me nuts a bit. I wonder if its just because I just started drinking this much, and my body needs to adjust. I hope its that, cause I am getting tired of always having to pee.

I always have to pee!! Thats the only thing I hate about drinking so much water. I hope it stops to!

I need some new sneakers as well for working out, but I find it so hard to get a nice pair, because I am a size 11 in womens, and its hard to get womens sneakers in size 11, I usually go to the mens .....

Nike came out with a new shoe that basically looks like a slipper- its suppose to retrain the feet muscles. I think they may be just running shoes, but it may not hurt to look into em.. I want a pair, but like CanadianGirl, I have ginourmous feet!!

speaking of shoes..i have the worst feet. big ol ugly bunions..bone protruding from below my big toe on the sides of my feet.eww!

So I have a wide foot. Really hard to find good shoes. But I found a pair that I wouldnt trade for the world. Im gonna try to post a pic of them. They are slipperlike too, and no tying! and light as well. they feel great (just kinda fugly)

Just checkin' in Fluff :) I know what you mean about the peeing!! LOL Actually, my body did adjust - it just took a little while :) (That and, according to doc, I have a huge bladder. I tell them thats where my weight is stored LOL)
Hope you find a pair of shoes you like. I have fairly average feet, size 7 1/2 - 8, but they are wide. I usually buy boys shoes since the are wider and more comfy than even the wides in women's shoes. When I went to buy iceskates, I had to get hockey skates instead of figure skates ! Yeah, I can really skate in those things - NOT! You try skating with a 2x4 strapped to each side of your ankles !! LOL

Keep up the good work! :D

I kinda have big feet too. They weren't big until I had my first baby. Then they got big. How fair is that? Oh well, the boobs got bigger after the first baby too. That I am not complaining about. lol.

I still havent been shoe shopping. Maybe this weekend if I can get out alone. If I take the kids with me, they will end up with new shoes and I will still come home with nothing.

Things have been going pretty well over these past few days. I have felt more motivated. I been really working on drinking the water still, and I am finding it not nearly as terrible as I had myself convinced it would be. I am still peeing all the time (had to go to the ladies room twice at the store this morning!) But I am drinking way less soda -- which is really a good thing for me I think.

I have been keeping my calories under 1500. And I am still plodding away on my treadmill three times a day. I try to time my treadmill walking with something I want to watch on tv. Anything to make the time go by faster!

Still no word on my husband job situation. I am sticking with the no news is good news philosophy of thinking.

Its supposed to be a rainy weekend here this weekend. Thats a huge red flag for me. It wont be easy to stay on course stuck in the house all weekend, but I am feeling more motivated than ever to do so.

I am off to the grocery store now. I am going to look for fake cheese. Maybe later I can have a grilled fake-cheese sandwich. yeah! :)

alright fluff, if u can come in here and check in this weekend, then ill do my best to help u along...here, let me help...I dont have a treadmill. This means getting out the rain gear first thing in the morning, after breakfast and walking in this mess we are about to have! WAH!:( Well, ok maybe Ill wait until its just damp and cold, but I just do not have a choice.

You may now feel sorry for me.:p waaah, again.

Great Job

Hi Fluff! You posted on my diary so then I found yours! You have come such a long ways! You have done so great and everyone has been so supportive of you! I can definately identify with everything that you have gone through-Thats life. Especially eating when you are stressed. I never realized that I was one of those people...till I really really wanted to stuff my face because I was tired or stressed. And here comes another weekend! Have a great one and be strong! ( I know I'll have to be!) :)

Cool beans Kate. I will need all the help I can get this rainy Saturday while my family lounges in front of the television with big bowls of buttery popcorn! I am feeling really motivated right now, and am in no mood to screw up what I have managed to accomplish so far. Now that I can finally see the scale moving, it has really encouraged me to stick with it. If I can lose 6 pounds in January, maybe I will lose 6 more in February (if I can just avoid those sappy little candy hearts )

Thanks for chiming in Cabana! I have had great support on this forum. I dont think I could stick to this diet without the great support I get on here. I agree with you that stress eating is a real problem. It always has been for me. Life is always going to bring stresses with it. Like you said -- thats life. I think its high time I learn how to deal with stress better. Afterall, eating isnt the solution! Being fat is stressful too! I will keep working on it. :)

I know what you mean Jennifer. Funny thing is I had never heard that pregnancy could make your feet grow. I thought I was crazy when my shoes didnt fit anymore. When I finally broke down and told a friend they were like --"Pffttttttt....of course. That happens to lots of people" Wonder why noone had ever told me?? lol.

Hi Fluff! You have done so good! A few rain-drips be damned! LOL I will be here this weekend as well so I will look for you :D Maybe we can all keep this weekend from being too bad for all of us ;) I have to get up early to work out since mom and sis are coming early in the a.m. (they have never been morning people so I think sis' pregnancy has screwed up her "clock"! LOL).
Hang in there - the weekend is only two days :D I'll b c n u soon :D

Well the rain finally got here this afternoon. For some reason I really thought it was going to rain more than it did, but I won't complain. My plants will be happy at least.

This morning I finally went shoe shopping and YAH! I found some I liked. I went to three stores and tried on a ton of shoes. Wouldnt you know that the most comfortable I found were also the ugliest! Just my luck. But at this point I really didnt care. I just want good shoes to walk in, so I bought the ugly shoes. I already love them. I am going to just keep them for exercising anyway.

Did ok today despite that it was a rainy Saturday. Kept my calories low, until dinner. Saturday night is my one cheat night of the week. We ate out (just at the mall though) and I got some Chinese food. It was really yummy. I felt a little guilty, but I have to let myself have this one night a week. Its what keeps me sane the other days of the week!

All that shopping and two 30-minute walks on my treadmill got me 17,500 steps on my pedometer. Yah! I should go walk one more time, but I think I'm skipping.

I have really been chugging the water. It is getting easier every day. I just try to always have water near me. The only thing is I had to stop drinking it in the evenings. I was getting up too many times in the middle of the night to pee. That wouldnt be so bad, except that when I go back to bed I start thinking about things (dumb things like what I need to do the next day..what i should make for dinner) and it takes me forever to fall back asleep. Then the next day I end up tired. Cutting off the water at dinner time seems to help.

Hi Fluff! Glad you found some shoes you like. Isn't it a PIA to do??? Who cares if they're fugly, its not like you're lookin at your feet as you walk. LOL
I wouldn't feel guilty about your cheat day or what you eat during that day. You only have one a week and if it helps with sanity on the other days, I see it only as a benefit. :D It's when you don't have a cheat day that you run the risk of failing. So cheat day away ;)
You're doin' great! Keep up the good work :D 17500 steps. isn't that a great number!?!?!

glad u got some comfy shoes fluff, sounds like u are doing good with the water! I am getting used to it as well, and I am the same way in the night time, its hard for me to get back to sleep.....

and if it wasnt for my cheat night, I would go insane!!

Hi

Hey Fluff,
Sounds like you like shoes! Glad you found something comfy. I am having such a hard time with the water. I know I need more cause my lips are so chapped. Last week I lost it on the Chinese Food too, I really felt guilty. But its like BizeB said, it can be somewhat of a benifit! Keep up the exercise! Every bit helps. I didnt exercise friday or saturday, but last night I went for and hour on the gazelle, and that was to make up for the slice of pizza I ate (that was my cheat) Have a great day! It looks like we all survied the weekend! Now we need to see whats in the works for Super Bowl:rolleyes: Till Later..........Cabana

Rainy days!!!!

Hi Fluff!!!!

After all the rain and butter and popcorn, you keep yourself on track. Congratulations, that is the worst part, the weekends and rainy days. I'm dealing with all that too. This weekend was rainy and a lot of food around the house. I have to confess, I ate!!! Not too much but I did. I broke the diet :D !!! I hope to do better this week and weekend!!!

I'm glad you are doing great!!!! All my support, chimi
