Finding Myself in Me

I did not find the 'high' ............. dammit:( The little bugger evaded me. However, the mantra "knees don't exist" wasn't needed... LOL

I've had a bad week -- crap at home, crap at work -- and it all culminated into my run last night. Bad posture, bad form, bad breathing.... :bncry:

bottom line is.... Sustained run = fail

Maybe I'm too hard on myself. who knows?!? I know what I want to do and how it needs to be done, but feel like progress is not happening or that i'm regressing.

Obviously, progress is NOT regressing - the changes in my body prove otherwise, but geeze!!!! How many times do you have to run into the brick wall?? It frikkin hurts!!!

The bright side has been my friend and coach - FF. Patience, recognizing the frustrations and explaining that not every day is a success, and sharing a couple of beers with me.. I couldn't ask for better... for reals!! :beerchug:

The day that everything clicks into place... i am sooooooo going to celebrate.... big time!! hahaha

Maybe i'll jump rope or something "crazy" like that... :p

Girl....it is always darkest before the dawn :D

I know where you are and know you can push thru it!!!! I get there too! There seems to always be periods where we feel we just aren't going anywhere... But I'm telling ya, while you continue to push thru this your body *is* making progress and one day it is going to say "*TA DA*!!! and whamo!, you'll see that there is some improvement again and it is because you kept going!!!!!

Not every workout will be our best, and some even suck, but it's because of those that we have the ones that make us feel like we can take on the world and appreciate them!!!

keep it up! You'll see the sun soon...:D

And even if you aren't making progress right now, the good thing is you're getting angry at yourself about it. The rage is what's going to take you on to the next step

Keep being tough on yourself ;)

Schedule Change

Starting Monday, I am picking up a second class and it's going to really eat in on my time - an easy class, but writing intensive ...

I'm fairly unhappy about this too. Classes are from 6p-10p Monday and Tuesday nights for the next 5 weeks.:(

Poof!!!! 8 hours of potential training time ...gone... right down the sh!tter :action14:

Not to mention the time it's going to take me to research and read and put the papers together...

Looks like I need to put "time management skill" to practical use.. well that and lots of caffein and maybe some heroin so i can stay awake to get everything done...LOL

(i am kidding about the heroin, btw ;) )

or not

Hang in there... life is always going to throw the curveballs. You have developed enough fortitude and disipline to overcome whatever real life throws in the way of your training schedule. You are WORTH that. This is what defines those who succeed and those who quit. You aint a quitter.

:) This coming from the girl who is battling her own excuses. We have to empower ourselves and each other.

Funny enough, the times I have been slammed with too much to do and still squeezed in the MANDATORY training I excelled in ALL of it. No joke. Too much to do is a blessing in many ways. The month before my last comp- I trained my butt off and closed 7 hard case loans for about 1.5 million ( no small feat in mortgage these days) And didn't eat even one Twinkie. :D You got the power girl. Work it.

I need to sweat.

Period

and i really don't feel like cleaning up the mess...

Well.... I did sweat..LOL

Went to the gym and the target was legs (and a lil bit o back)

Front squats
5 @ 55lb
5 @ 60lb
5 @ 65lb
5 @ 70lb

Back squats
5 @ 65lb
5 @ 70lb
5 @ 75lb
5 @ 80lb
2 @ 95lb

Single Arm Snatches - first time trying these
5 lb 3 x 10 - ea side

OH Squats - first time trying these too
20lb 3 x 10

Single Arm Side Twists
3 x 10 - ea side

Something else I found out was my body fat percentage. Some doc & his side kick were at the gym and had a "Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA)" monitor. I know it's not the caliper skinfold test or water immersion, but it sufficed :)

Anyway.. the "ideal healthy range" for women my age is 23%-35%. I am at 30% and am very pleased with this number.

Let me put this into perspective for you. The last time I had my bodyfat percentage done... It was over 60%.

So yeah... you could say I'm happy with the progress...LOL

Great news! Good job lady. :)

Consistency

It's what I am lacking, unfortunately. Unless you count consistently inconsistent.. hehehe

I can have periods when I am balls to the wall and am on target, then other times; like now... I'm hit or miss with running or working out

so... last night after school i hit the gym for a shortie.

I spent a bit of time on the treadmill - high incline and moderate pace (rpe 4) or so and then hit squats...

Back Squats
1 x 8 45
1 x 8 55
1 x 8 65
1 x 8 55

Front Squats
1 x 8 45
2 x 8 55

That's it. Pathetic isn't it?

Anyway... I was up until 1am then back up at 6am.. oh... and with a not so lovely side order of morning migraine - no doubt due to the weather and a total lack of sleep.

But... I figure once I finish my degree in Feb I will have opportunity to catch up on my zzzz's... haha :sleeping2:

or not

I'll prolly still run myself ragged. Seems to be my 'style'

ha:cheeky:

Marathon and not a sprint- remember. I also am feeling mediocre right now. You will get the feeling back, just keep looking for the next goal and you will find your mojo again!

Hang in there and you are going to feel enthused again!

Mel... Thanks.. really!!

I truly feel as though I am being pulled in 95,000 different directions sometimes and right now, school is taking priority.

I fit in exercise when I can.. although running would be pretty easy to fit in easier and whenever..

I have 2 more weeks of my doubled up classes and when that is over... 7 weeks will be all I have left and then I'll have my Bachelor's degree.. finally!

(mom will be proud)..LOL

I do think i'm gonna run a Turkey Trot this month tho.. hmm motivation to run.. think i found my mojo ... for now ;)

Me

So.. got out of class @ 10p last night. Went home, changed and went on a run.

I figured I haven't done a damn thing in a while and I've needed to sweat
and work out some stress so.................. here ya go.

2.65 miles in 30 min more or less..

Took a shower and hit the hay.

That is all

Wow. Good work and going out and doing something that late last night. I know once it gets dark here, I just kind of shut it off and don't do anything, so kudos to you and your determination

Good job Neon!

I'm over worked at work....so.....lazy.... :(

i would love to be overworked... but right now.. my company is going through some MAJOR headcount losses.. guesstimating 10-12k people - company wide.

So for the next 2 weeks my guts are gonna be in a knot... wondering every stinkin day if i'm going to be employed once the smoke clears or not.

Very unnerving.. very unsettling.. very vulnerable & transparent... and i'm very over it.

Hey thanks! The run was easier too. Probably because less traffic, less heat, less distractions.. you know...

I could just get out and go. I like that.. hahaha
