I've cut down to a snack chocie once a week.

Why is it that FAT makes you SOOOOO happy? Is fat an essential part of diet in small quantities?

Hey, is there a quick answer to this next question for dummies? I'm "health keen" but never got it - FAT is called Tryclycerides, Polyunsaturated, Monounsaturated and Cholesterol. I read that they're all beneficial, except for the chemicals, but they all seem to add to weight gain, heart probs, and worsen complications like Thyroid. P.S. I just found an entirely natural spread called "Lurpak" that has deli butter with oil - YUM.

A natural diet would actually probably contain 10-20% fat - dependent on geographic location. And fat makes you happy as it contains over twice as much energy as carbohydrate and protein and your body loves energy.

Fascinating, thankyou v. much. What has the geographic location got to do with fat please? So having more energy it is higher in calories ... is there a great calorie for dummies website here or elsewhere?

Now Coach Sandbag, I want you to report back here after the party season and tell me how many chocies!

ONLY JOKING - Hahahahahaha

Different geographic locations have an impact on the natural flora and fauna present - this then directly affects the constitution of the regions natural diet. What most people do not realise is that a low fat diet is not a natural way to live.

Paleolithic man would have killed animals and eaten pretty much everything - including organs, blood and bones. We are designed to utilise fat as energy and removing it from the diet causes problems.

Yer a PHD throwing a sand bag man! I think there's a lot of unnatural and crazy marketing hype in the "Hollywood" fitness industry about what is beauty + correct. Like to see them throw a sand bag down town! At least being down town means less parties and dinners and less chocolate this year! LOL.

Just remember that fat is not the only thing that makes a person fat. It is excess calories that does it. Cotton candy has 0 fat, but eat a bunch and you certainly will get fat.

There are a bunch of websites to look up calories, fat grams and all that jazz. Here is one:

Sicnce when did fat become the F word...Not all fat is bad fat, there is good fat, we NEED good fat in our diets. Again reapeating what has been sid before, its not fat that makes your fat, it an surplus of calories that makes you fat.
