Yay! People joined. So today's the day to start or whatever, even though my classes haven't started yet.

Unfortunatly, this morning I found out that I am up 2 pounds! I am not thrilled with this at all and am hoping it's water weight, but regardless, my official starting weight is 215. ugh.

also, i fell down the stairs this morning, due to my astounding gracefulness and now my butt muscle is so tight that I can barely walk. i guess that means exercise is for the most part out today. *sigh*

More new people! Yay! Welcome everyone.

How did your first day go?

I did ok on food. I could have made some better choices (salad instead of fries) but I'm pretty sure I did ok on calories. I need to drink some more water though! It was hot here today. Exercise didn't happen today due to my stupid fall down the stairs, but I plan on attempting a pilates video here in a little bit to see if I can possibly stretch the muscle back out and get a little bit of movement in.

I hope everyone had a good day!

I think we should all update by editing our original posts. That way the thread won't get too long.

What's wrong with a long thread? And won't that get confusing?

I'm pretty new to this forum, but I would imagine we can make a new thread every month for this and have the old one locked...that way it's still manageable. That's how it works on most of the forums I've been too.

Not to be offensive or anything...just curious about how things work around here!

Can I still join? If so, here's my info:

Plan to achieve goals:moniter daily caloric intake, track percentage of fats/protein/carbs, drink 8 cups of water a day, and at least 30 mins cardio 5x weekly, and weight training 3-4x weekly.

i agree, i think it would be too confusing to go back and edit

Whats confusing about hitting the edit button? I think its confusing to search through a 200 page thread. So what are we going to, repost the whole thing everytime we update?

Welcome! We're glad to have you!

The process of editing your original post is not confusing. But if people want to come in, talk about their day, how they did, etc...and then another person comments on it, I don't understand at all how the thread will make sense.

If you just meant to update our weights in the original posts, that would work fine so you could quickly see how things were going.

let's say i come in and edit my post before you get a chance to read what my post said before. that would be confusing. let's say you said something in your post, and i had a question about it. i have to go back and edit my post to ask the question? okay, say i do that. then you edit your post to answer it. nobody would know what i was asking about in the first place. maybe it's just me, but i think a lot can get lost if we go back and keep editing our posts. also, at the end of it all, i'm going to want to go back and see what i did, notice what i did poorly with and celebrate my accomplishments (as well as those of others). hope that clarifies why i think it'd be a bit confusing! perhaps it's just a personal thing...

I think stuco's way makes sense. I have been in challenges in this forum before, and we did it the way he is referring to.
But it's not so confusing
Say there are 20 people in this challenge.
So there will only be 20 posts to look for when adding things up. This will be on the first few pages.
Every week, we would include our starting weight, and current weight, so you could see how much I have lost.
If you have a question, a new post would be fine.
He is referring only to our origional posts, where we posted our stats.
And if you want to congradulate someone, or yourself, or talk about what's been going on in the week, a new post is fine for that too.

Either way, I dont care. It's primarily for the people who start the challenge, in case they are trying to keep track. It's just a more clean approach. Nothing fancy.

oh okay, i think i understand. so we're just going to edit our stats in the first post rather than reposting every time something changes. that would indeed make lots of sense. am i getting that right? thanks for your patience :p
