Hopped on the treadmill last night for about 30 mins. Then did some more light core work and stretches to help this back out. It really hurts first thing in the morning. As long as I move around its ok. Too bad I have to sit my ass at a desk all damn day.

Despite my lower back being ****ed I trained

crunches 6x25
push ups 2x30

inclined bp
200 lbs 1x12
220 lbs 1x12
240 lbs 1x10
200 lbs 1x10

DL
130 lbs 4x8
this did my back some good I think. didn't hurt and the lifts went well. I'm staying light and just accepting the fact that I'm a ****y deadlifter.

BOR
1x12 130 lbs
1x12 140 lbs
1x8 150 lbs
nursed my back a bit here as well.

chest flies
120 lbs 2x12, 1x10

face pulls
100 lbs 2x12 each arm

hammer curls 50 lb DBs
2x12 each arm

Took it easy a bit but I think it did my back a world of good. Hurt a bit this morning when I first woke up but its getting better.

I want to be able to press that kinda weight.

with the face pulls I'm having a hard time keeping my balance. Do you lean back away from the machine or do you fight to stand up straght. I'm not sure I'm doing them right. I'm fighting to keep my feet planted and my body straight.

machine.

I couldn't imagine holding DB's up like that. LOL

In free weight (flat bench) fly's you don't hold the DB's in the same position as compared to machine fly's. Additionally, the range of motion is different, and thus recruits a different set of muscle fibers, and one will use less weight.

Chillen

not sure I fully understand. One would use less weight with a machine fly?
I don't think I could do that with 60lbs worth of DB's on each arm. Def not repping it out.

No, one would use less weight with free weight fly's is what I was referring to. :) And, believe they are superior in the sense of having to stabilize the DB weight in the range of motion during the rep sequence.
