End of July Challenge

I am challenging all of you to be "good" (we all know what that means) and stick to our plans for the next continuous 8 days through July 31st :D.

Let's state our goals for the next week and report how we're doing on a daily basis (time permitting).

OK, I'll start .

I need to lose a simple 1/2 pound by the end of July. I should be able to achieve that if I can manage a daily deficit of 300 calories, either through food, exercise or a combination of both. That's my goal and I'm hoping being accountable to the End of July Club will help me stay on track. Unfortunately, I'm notorious for maxing out on my plan by day 4 and going off plan for the next 3 days or so.

This month MUST be different so I can stick to my very modest goal of a pound loss per month.

So far the following people have joined:
Curvie Girlie, Miss Ladybug, Cinderelly, Be_Gone_Soon, AmyRB, and possibly TomO (?)

Cym has volunteered as our dedicated cheerleader. :jump:

Please join us in sticking to our July goals.:hug2:

drop 10lbs more by the end of the month

cardio, weight training, and diet will do it

Hey Jeremy you joined!!! Welcome...

Im joining to support you Blancita...

Ive been going pretty strong lately - however...I need to think abt this I will post in the am:D:D:D

I'm in, hope to lose 2 more pounds by the end of July, currently in a holding pattern even with Cardio and weight training.

Count me in

I'm in. I have a goal of losing at least 2.5 lbs by the end of july. Making sure I get at least 64 oz of water a day and exercising for at least 30 min each day. which with family from oregon coming down due to my great uncle dying on sunday may be kinda hard. the funeral is on thursday so i am not sure how much exercise i will get in that day. I am going to try at least do abs and maybe some exercises i can do with my hand weights though each day if i don't get my walk or other exercises in.

I have a few goals I hope to meet, and if I accomplish all of them I won't care what the scale says!

1) Drink at least 3.0 L a day
2) Make my calorie limits for each day
3) Have only ONE more 2000 cal refeed day
4) Complete all of my weights properly and take only the allotted breaks in between.

Good luck everyone! Great idea Blancita ;)

1) I want to lose 3-4 lbs. by the end of the month
2) Drink at least 64 oz of water a day
3)Exercise at least 3 times a week. I am currently moving and have been getting lots of exercise with that!!
4)Keep track of of my cals and keep them between 1200-1500

Ok well Ive been doing gretty good lately so I just wanna keep doing what I am doing...

Continue to drink at least 3 liters of water
Continue to use Elliptical everyday for 45 or 65 mins depending on time nad energy levels
Continue to eat well or eat within my calorie limits

Hey everyone, thanks for doing this with me. I really need to be accountable, not that anyone is getting personally involved in my dumb choices but I would really like to find a way to stay on track for more than 4 days.

Yesterday was a decent effort. Only screw up was the 1 to 1.5 servings of Doritos before bed. I dont know why I ate those after I forced myself on the elliptical to burn 300 calories. I was nevertheless within 50 calories of my goal for the day so I wont complain too much.

I had fluctuated up 2.5 pounds over the weekend so I'm still trying to get back to my ticker before I can even lose the stinkin' half a pound for the rest of the month .

Hope everyone has a great on track day :).

I want to lose 2lbs by the end of the month. My calorie intake is 1500-1600 and I will be doing cardio on six of these eight days. I will also be woring out with my personal trainer 4 of these days.

I need to increse my water intake. I have been slacking off lately.

I'm here! :D

OK, so I had lost, then gained back some weight :( Who would have thought I'd be part of the 90% who gain weight back! My problem is drinking too much beer or wine, coupled with the fact that I eat more when I'm stressed or tired. And my office job, with the sedentaryness and the goodies all over makes it even more difficult. I am 5'7" and started the year at about 155 lbs, got to 137 by April, then today I'm back to 146.

My birthday is next next Saturday (8/4), and I will be 25! :D My plan in December was to be 135-130 lbs by then. In my weigh loss journey I realized I look fine and am at a healthy weight from 145-137. I took a breather from weighing and tracking calories this month because I was heartbroken from moving out of my house, and the fact that I was not going to be living with my boyfriend (we've been living together for 1.4 years). Not to mention we had had a REALLY rocky time (almost ended it a bunch of times). Also I got a 2nd job, and had been injured (slightly) a few times since May.

My goal here for the end of the month is not to weigh anything specific; because I'm going to be on my P in a few days or so, but to eat well and to a small deficit for the rest of the month. IF I ate to a large deficit I could technically lose 2 lbs this week, but I/m not certain a 1000 calorie deficit per day is realistic for me. I'm aiming for 300-500.

When my birthday comes I'll post pictures and you can tell me what you think, if you think I "failed" or if I'm just tripping and to shut the f up :rotflmao:

Either way I'm excited about your stories, I absolutely love the motivation here!!!!!!!!

So I already drank a liter of water and went 10.5 miles on teh Elliptical - I will be wlaking later and be packing a healthy lunch for work :)

Im here to help Blancita - grumpiness and all - heh heh heh - heeheehee

I'm so READY!!

Hey Cita, you know I'm in girl!! I'm always on the train heading to weight loss. I would love to go down a pound, but like HBKOLB, I workout like a mad women, both cardio and weight training every week always four days a week, not weights everyday of course, but you know what I mean. My focus this week is to up the water intake of course. :jump: and incorporate a little less cardio and more weights into my weekly regimen. We will see what happens. I'm also within a few days from aunt flo coming to town, so I hope that doesn't sabotage me efforts. I'm IN and I'm ready to GO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>~~~~~~~~~************ let's make it friends!!!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!:jump:

Well I don't know if I'm joining or not but my goal is to lose 5lbs by the end of July!
Doing the same things I have been doing.
I walk/jog for 2.30 miles right now, I will increase this distance next week, but hopefully keep the same time! I am doing 2.30 miles in about 35 minutes so...
Also to keep a healthy diet of whole foods and low fat stuff, lots of water, and also some calesthetics? I think thats what they are called and how they are spelled?? you know, Like crucnches squats, leg lifts, etc...everyday! 7 days a week! I hope that will do it!

I've got half of my water down. And am working on the other half! Food is good and i still need to get in some exercise!

I am not going to count my luck with the scale cause that fluctuates like crazy and I do weight training. But I want to focus hard on training for my 5k race on August 4th and picking up my running speed. I'm trying to get my mind used to the pain of running which is by far the worst part. When I'm on the elliptical I can go forever cause I read, lol, so I get my mind off it.

I just want to stick to my high protein and fiber plan. I also want to work out every day except Sunday since I have work during my gym's open hours and I also need a rest day.

I need to be accountable or one day I'll slip while at work (which is at a grocery store) and wander into the bakery section - AGH.

hi,hope its ok if i join. i would really like to lose just over 2.5 lbs so i can see the scale read 139.?lbs
i also really need to get my overeating under control again. just a few weeks ago i was congratulating myself on not "binging" for ages. i spoke too soon in the last 2 weeks i have been terrible... biscuits and crisps in particular. and i dont even eat biscuits normally, more of a savoury food person. slim

Wow, you all have such wonderful goals! I am truly impressed and I appreciate you sharing your plans with us :).

I would give yesterday a 5 for me unfortunately. The scale is still up 1.5 lbs from my ticker while it usually goes back by mid-week after a regular upward fluctuation on the weekends (when I tend to eat a lot..snicker).

Perhaps that number is due to the turkey cheese burger and fries I had last night. I DID order it without a bun, however, to save on a few hundred empty calories. Very virtuous of me eh ?

My calories were over my goal - after factoring in my 17 minutes on the elliptical - by 225 calories, but I still had a deficit for the day of 75 calories.

I haven't been food shopping and I was too hungry to cook anything that would take long, so we ordered out. I was just starving! To address this I've decided to buy a crock pot so I can make a healthy dinner before I go to the office and have it ready when I get home.

Today I work from home so I'll go on a long walk and go food shopping.

If you have time, please give us a quick update and keep us posted on what you're doing today or tomorrow to achieve your End of July Goal. :hug2:

I love my crock pot!!! You can make delicious melt in your mouth steak in them, and pork chops that fall off the bone - YUM!!!

Yesturday my only slip up was one piece of pizza - just one...I was on track and did my elliptical and even walked and drank all my water
