Dylan's Diary

Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it. Yeah, I turn 21 this coming December so I'm fairly young and I understand the 20s can be one of the toughest ages of life, and I'm definitely starting to realize it quickly. Just been dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, brain fog, depression and just a lot of things at the moment. I technically work 3 jobs right now until I move to Texas go back into college. I've also met a lady here but moving really changes everything and it's just been a lot going on. I can literally write hours and hours about what I'm going through into specific detail, but I think I'd rather save my fingers from typing it out so much and just try to get through this crazy stressful time. Thank you for your interest in my diary, I've had a lot of ups and downs, but hey, no one said this road was ever going to be easy. "I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan

I like that quote and Jordan was just awesome to watch. Really incredible player. It seems my age guessing skills need some work although I see it now after zooming in a little bit on your profile picture. Although it may not feel good, I think it's good that you're working on an understanding of what you're going through and connecting it to how it's affecting you mentally and physically. I think if you take the time to stay aware and try to figure out how to keep it in check now, it'll pay off in the long run. Definitely OK to put yourself first in any situation. In general if you're sincere, situations like with a lady friend typically work themselves out over time.

Hi, Dylan. I just thought I would let you know that I was thinking of you & wondering how you are. I hope 2020 is a better year for you. Did you end up moving?

Hey Dylan, I want to second what Cate said. I hope you are doing well, and it would be great to hear from you.

Did you make the Texas move?

Yes, I made the move and it was all a huge process. I gained 8 pounds from where I left off as I kind of fell off the ladder. I'll be updating a lot more soon. How are things with you?

Thank you, and it's been going okay. I've been here for a few months and I think I'm finally adjusted to things a little bit to begin focusing more on myself. Had to focus on getting a job, along with getting back into college and it's just been a huge process. The last time I updated my weight, I was 340, and I currently gained 8 pounds since I pretty much went on hiatus for a few months. I'm ready to pick back up where I left off and keep making progress. I currently weigh 348. I'll be updating here a lot more soon. With this Virus things going on, it's getting harder scarier to leave the house haha

Welcome back Dylan. Gaining back only 8 pounds in that time with all that´s been going on is pretty good! I´m finding it hard to eat well while at home; how are you coping with that?

I'm glad the move went ok for you & you are starting to adjust. The world has tipped upside down for all of us. We are going to have to look after ourselves even more. I don't want to come out the other end of it all looking like a blimp. Nice having you back, Dylan :)

I'm doing alright, it's just been crazy with this virus thing, hopefully this blows over eventually.

You aren't lyin! Yeah, it's just been a disaster honestly. Moving on top of this pandemic, it's just been crazy. Hopefully we all make it through okay.

Hey Dylan, good to see you back! Glad you made it to Texas safe and sound, as you say a crazy time to move.

Did you find a job and get back into school? How is that working out for you?

Do you have a diet/exercise plan that you can do whilst on lock down?

I did find a job but currently they have a few cases of the Virus and we are pretty much suspended until they get everything all cleaned out and investigate. School is also shut down until further notice. I do have an exercise and diet plan I can do at home for a while, but would be nice find a gym somewhere locally, but I know that's not going to be happening for a while due to whats going on. I'm hoping things can start getting back to normal soon.

I understand, I think we all do. You sound like you are doing what you can under the circumstances, I hope that feels good to you.

So.... the big question, do you like Texas? Or is it too soon to say?

Well, it's different. I don't mean that in a bad way. There are definitely some pros and cons. I'm from an area in Illinois where there was a lot more open roads, less traffic, and more of a dependent kind of atmosphere. I've moved to Saginaw, Texas which is in Fort Worth, right outside of Dallas. I have to say the weather is a lot more nicer here.

However, the traffic and tons of people is a little bit out of my comfort zone, as it can be really crazy on the roads, and trying to get to places. Gas is definitely cheaper in Texas so that's a plus. My job is also 7 minutes from the house so I save on tons of fuel, and don't have to travel far at all. I'm still in the process of getting use to everything, but I know my way around a little bit.

Food is definitely different in the Texas. I find I really love the BBQ and Mexican food down here, it's absolutely delicious. However, I really do miss Pizza up North. Also, the car laws are a little bit more complicated here, because you have to take your car in for inspection, emissions, then register and it was a huge pain as I own an older car, so it was a pretty big headache. But, I'm all moved in, and I've been trying to dip my feet in the water here in Texas and I have to say it's not that bad. Lot of people in Texas are very sensitive with the tradition down here, never say anything bad about Texas to Texan folk! Haha.

It was SO funny entering the state for the first time, and there was signs all over saying "Don't Mess With Texas" haha it was great. But I'm glad the big move is over, I transferred to my new registered Texas license, and I can officially now call myself a Texan!

Hey Tex, sounds like you are adapting pretty well! I hate the traffic in the Dallas area, but drive pretty much any direction for an hour or so and you'll be in wide open spaces. I also agree with you on the bbq and Mexican, or Tex/Mex food, hard to beat, but easy to eat too much of.

I am originally from Louisiana so I know Texas a little.

Do you know the difference between a Cajun and an a*sh*le? The Sabine River. I have told that joke in Texas many times, but you might be careful about it! I know better when and where I can get away with it.

You know the wind doesn't really blow in Oklahoma, its just that Texas sucks!

I believe there are more Texas jokes than about any other state.

Good that you are back on the forum!

Thank you I'm glad to be back. It sucks I fell off the ladder when I was doing so good. I gained up another 8 pounds where I left off, because I pretty much abandoned the entire plan going through stress. I lost the most weight I ever had lost before I fell off, but I'm going to keep trying. One day I'll make a huge break through.

I am sure you will, even if it takes you a while you are much younger than I, you will be way ahead.

The printable diet tracker thing I have comes from myfitnesspal.com I use their tracker, you can do both food and exercise on it. At the end of the day after I complete it at the bottom there is a View Full Report (Printable) button. I click on it and choose print to pdf, that gives me a pdf. Then I use a simple pdf to jpg converter I got online for free, then I can post it here. Not as complicated as it sounds now that I am used to it I can do it in a few seconds.

Hey good to have you back, and I am looking forward to following your progress. I know you can do it, and I'll enjoy watching!

Thank you for the info, and thank you!
I found a really cool family based gym 7 minutes from my house which would be amazing to go there and do a daily routines. Hopefully I meet some friends and meet new people at the gym. I'm so excited to go, once things start opening back up, I'm signing up! A little nervous about it, I haven't been to an actual gym since senior year in high school when I was in weight lifting for football. I usually did walks and stuff by myself in the neighborhood, I'm hoping the gym will really be a nice touch to make things more interesting. I've learned doing the same things everyday is just mentally boring. I feel like I just need to go to a gym and do different things.

Sounds like you´re holding up really well despite the weird circumstances. Great that you have a diet and exercise plan in place as well as a shiny new local gym to look forward to!

Started eating healthy a few days ago anyways let the daily reports begin! (Just wanted to say I been having medical issues for the past month and a half so it was hard to get back to where I am now getting outside and trying to exercise) Not getting into full details on my medical condition but I seen a cardiologist and we are hoping it's nothing to do with my heart. Also, I'm starting everything all over from Day 1/ Week 1 on Monday so it's easier to keep track of my progress going forward.

7/30/20

Hey Dylan, great to hear from you, and it sounds like you did well today. Good for you!

Are you still in Texas? How is it?
