Thoughts

That weekend "re-feed" left me strong as hell. Once again, everything on the table is a PR. Benching 145 was epic... took 23 seconds, but I got it. 140 went up much easier, but I couldn't double up on it.

Power shrugs + power curls + wrist roller = forearms like rocks. Seriously, I have never had that much trouble taking a shower in my life. That's including times when I was being actively interfered with. ;) Still feeling the burn as I type, haha.

That run... I, uhm... yeah. I felt like it. And it was good. Warmed me up real nice. I think I'll do it every training day, on the way to the gym. Walking brisk doesn't do the trick anymore. Daddy needs his adrenaline fix. In a couple weeks, I'll start trotting back as well.

Along those lines: New goal to add to the list - 80 miles run by August 31st. I'm thinkin' 5 miles on Weds and Suns, plus the run there for the first two weeks, and in the second two there and back. Should easily put me over 100. Also, for anyone who's wondering about that other one, I am currently sitting at 98 hours of extra NEPA. So, 200 should be very easily doable. Particularly if redoctane weren't a bunch of useless ****sicles. Running counts for double, as it's not NEPA.

Nice workout Focus. I had times when doing the circuit training routine that I had a hard time doing things like shaving because my forearms would spasm as soon as I got the razor ro my face.

I did a brick today to practice for the triathlon. It went pretty good.

6:41 AM
Biked 9.31 miles, 33:18, 16.77 mph, Avg HR 120, Max HR 139. (I'm not worth crap first thing in the morning.)

4:24 PM - (Brick)
Biked 9.31 miles, 30:58, 18.04 mph, Avg HR 129, Max HR 149.
5:04 PM
Ran 6.28 miles, 48:55, 7:47 min/mile, Avg HR 153, Max HR 168.
- For the first 3.1 miles (simulated 5k): 3.1 miles, 23:46, 7:40 min/mile, Avg HR 148, Max HR 160.

They tore up the last 6/10 of a mile of my 6.2 mile course, so I had to re-run 6/10 out from the start once I got back. That last 6/10 is a 10 degree hill too, so I will miss it.

Ya...I HATE shaving my face after circuit training

What is a brick practice?

How do you get so much?! 98 per week? Per month?

lulz... is it the deca? XD

Per month..ish. 98 per week would be insane. :D

What I do to pay the bills is really easy for me, and takes only an hour or two every couple days, so I have a great deal of "free time".

I've just been making an effort to do less sitting. My sitfu was once very strong, now it is floppy like fresh spaghetti.

Nice tri prep day, Drex. Did you make a quick T2 on the brick?

Thanks G8r80. It looks like about 9 minutes from the time I finished the bike to the time I started the run. I had my run stuff ready to go, but I took time to put my bike stuff away, get a drink and use the bathroom before I headed out on the run.

Hehe, endurance athlete jargon. Fun.

What do you do during the tri? Catheter? Stillsuit? :D

A lot of people who are trying to get a good race time will just go when they need to go. A good strategy is to grab a cup of water at a water stop, then right after you "go", dump the glass of water over your head or on your chest and let it wash down. :) I haven't personally done this yet, but I have talked to a lot of people who have and it is very common.

So with enough training and dedication, you will one day pee your pants?

You are very funny, Drex, but in a subtle way. I dig that about you. :beerchug:

That's hardcore, right there.

Ran 1.7 miles in 24.5 minutes @ 8.5mm.

A1 Box Jump 30"+x3x8
B1 RDL 185x10x2, 185x9

D1 Cable Crunch 150x15x3, 150x14

Thoughts

Got my three pairs of Asics (Cumulus 9s) today, and hands down, they make every other shoe I've ever worn look like complete garbage. That's not an exaggeration. For serious, I had no idea what I was missing. As much better as my protos were than my barracks, these cumulus..es are than the protos... x10. They flat rock. Everybody go buy Asics RIGHT MAO.

Anyway, of the lot, 12 2E seems to fit the best. Good to know. 11.5 2E for walking and such, 12.5 2E for long runs. They're all the same color. It's somewhat confusing. XD

Wanted to check on my regular box jump. The verdict: Those 1-leggeds really improved my hops. Also, losing 15 lbs of fat. ;) I can now explode past what looks like 34" without even getting my upper body involved (no swinging my arms for momentum and such).

Felt my back working for the first time in a while today. Ilustraps<3. Added 50 lbs to my RDLs (and reps), and got lucky with my guess on the weight. I seem to do that a lot.

Looks like I lost on the step-ups, but man is that ever not true. Changed them up quite a bit. I'm now coming at them from the side, starting in a position with the working leg on the box, keeping my heel entirely flat, and dorsiflexing the foot on the nonworking leg, all to make damn sure only one leg is moving me and that 50 lbs up and down. And yeah, it kicked the **** out of me. I almost fell through a mirror at one point. And sprayed spittle all over some poor girl in the squat rack. She seemed to like it, though.

Knee's feeling fine. Griefing me, but not to the point where it'll give out on me, I think. So, 5 mile run tomorrow.

Thoughts

I... lied to all of you. I'm so ashamed. :( I said I would run, and yet I did not. I started playing with my new dance pad, and I couldn't stop. Also the jerky wasn't done and I didn't want to leave and risk burning it. Turned out pretty excellent, for what's in it (almost nothing but beef and spices, barely any salt even).

I've decided to alter my goals for August, based on the sheer awesomeness of today. For the record, this is not me justifying my not running today. I take full blame - I honestly couldn't make myself stop playing. I was having too much fun, and amazed at how shockingly low impact it is with the foam in the pad and two yoga mats under it (so it doesn't slide, but also for cushioning). Also having to wear shoes helps a lot. Who knew. 8 hours of DDR and my junk feels better than it did when I started. Slightly sore-like.

Anyway, what I had on the docket was 5 mile runs Wed and Sun, but I'm changing it to just a "test" run every Sunday. Meaning 2-3 rounds of just running until I feel like I should stop. This Sunday I'll aim for two consecutive 5k's @ 7mph, and go from there.

Here are my justifications, if anyone would like to take issue:

1. I feel that at this point, my running will benefit more from simply increasing my muscular strength, and shedding the 30 lbs of extra body fat I'm still carrying around.

2. I have discovered an amazing way to get in massive amounts of NEPA (and therefore as much of a deficit as I can handle while maintaining my strength).

3. I want to, and you can't stop me. I may have to set a 5 hour daily maximum, though, or I won't get anything done... and/or my body will fall apart from the strain.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

On a completely unrelated note, I have resolved to stop calling people 'fatty' on this part of the internet.

But, for the record, I do not have any body image issues whatsoever - mostly because I lucked out massively and ended up with a beautiful nymph who loves me for my "soul" (weird, hey?) - so I personally have no problem with anyone calling me a fatty. Especially when I can't be bothered to do my Wednesday run.

For me it's about conforming my physical reality to my mental. In my mind I am a prince among men. In my body as it stands, I'm more a wad of chewed gum. ;) I want to excel at everything. Every. Thing. And I want women to quiver and clutch themselves when I walk by them at the beach, I won't lie. However, a point was raised that not everyone feels that way, and most of you probably don't even believe that I myself do, so a modicum of tact shall be employed.

Okay, good talk.
