Don't call it a comeback!

Congrats on your progress- putting a new hole in the belt has got to be a great feeling! Keep up the good work! (And I like how you snuck in that pint of Jim Beam and 2 liter of Coke Zero... good time this weekend? lol)

wasn't too bad, I hung out by the pool and wasted most of saturdy afternoon soaking up some rays, floating around sipping. I will say this, whiskey and diet drinks SUCK. I believe that science could create an actual "eat all you want and be as fit as you want" pill before they could create an artificial sweetener thats decent :D

yesterday went well. I had a good hour and a half workout, pretty intense. I'm feeling pretty skinny this morning...............well, as skinny as a 253 pound man can feel :D

yesterday I ate
1 cup of yogurt (6 oz) and 1/2 cup OJ
lunch was chicken vegetable soup
late afternoon snack was 1/2 cup collard greens, 1 carrot
dinner was leftover grilled salmon, with steamed asparagus and steamed squash
for dessert I had another carrot and a quaker oats bar

WOW.......I just realized that I'm not smoking

Well I knew that I quit smoking. I quit for the most part several years ago, but still smoked a cigarette here and there. When my ex wife and I split last fall I started smoking again. Thats about all I did, smoke, eat, drink. Well I decided to quit smoking about the time that I started eating better which segwayed into this diet/lifestyle change journey that I'm on. ANYWAY, it was tough at first and I honestly don't remember when I put down that last cigarette. I haven't even thought about them in months now. I almost forgot they existed. Thats great! Its also bad though, because THAT shows exactly what kind of addiction food can be. I think about food so much cigarettes had to take a back seat. Scary really.

Congratulations - I know through watching other people that it is not very easy to quit smoking... so I give you a lot of credit for accomplishing that goal. With that kind of determination, you'll be giving me a run for my money in our challenge :)

Oh- and you cracked me up with your comment on the striptease workout. I don't think it would be illegal, I think it would be hilarious- watching any guy do that would be hilarious to me. When's your birthday?, maybe I'll send you a copy- ;)

Well yesterday didn't go so well. The beer gets me everytime. I got a phone call that was very unexpected. Long story short, I had asked a young lady out on a date and got turned down. I'm a hard guy to track down via phone, but somehow (and she said it wasn't easy) she tracked me down at work to call and say that she had thought about it and changed her mind and she would like to ask ME out. Top of the world baby! ;) HAHA. So I celebrated with a couple or six beers and a ribeye.

SO, my food for yesterday was:

yogurt and glass of OJ
mid morning snack of small cup of mustard greens
asian salad from Mickey D's
1 quaker oats bar
1 small ribeye, grilled
1 steamed squash
6 beers

yesterday went well, but I wish I would have stopped at 2 tacos  I did work out

ate:

1 cup yogurt
1 quaker oats bar
1 cup low diet grape juice
1 can of progresso soup
1 small serving of collard greens
1 cup steamed cauliflower
3 ground turkey tacos. On flour tortillas with salsa

If they were just ground turkey with salsa, I highly doubt having an extra taco did too much damage. That sounds really really good though- Mmmm... tacos...

yesterday I had
1 quaker oats bar
1 glass OJ
1 bowl chicken soup
1 flour tortilla
1 grouper filet
2 cups broccoli rice
1 cup okra

Well I didn't do so great over the long weekend. I strayed way off my diet. That is the one thing that I hate about visiting family, the food that they constantly shove in my face. I'm only so strong. Oh well, back on track this morning and I weighed in for the challenge, to my surprise I had lost another 3 pounds. I'm not doing bad with my diet and exercise, but I feel that there is SO much room for improvement and I need to really buckle down and hit it hard.

yesterday I had:
1 small bowl of cheerios
1 cup low fat yogurt
1 asian salad from Mcdonalds, grilled (SUPER TASTY)
1 small grouper filet

Well, I did good on my diet yesterday, but I skipped my workout. I had probably combined over the last 4 nights, 20 hours of sleep and it was just wearing on me. I was in bed by 6:30 and asleep by 7. I didn't want to wake up when my alarm went off at 6:30 this morning!!!!! My body needed the rest I guess. I'll get back in the groove tonight, plus I plan on swimming some laps this weekend and going for a hike, weather permitting. Yesterday I ate:

Well I kind of pigged out for dinner, and have no idea what the calorie intake was. Probably don't want to know, but it wasn't THAT bad

1 small bowl of instant grits
1 diet mountian dew
1 bowl of chicken noodel soup for lunch
1 ENTIRE PLATE steamed asparagus
1 small red tomato
1 small yellow tomato
1 large bowl of salad, 1 TBSP fat free italian
2 slices health nut bread

It went very well. It was the first date for both of us since getting divorced, so it was a little awkward but it all worked out. We're getting together again next week! ;)

Man what a bad weekend. I just didn't have a whole lot to do, so bored = eat. I HATE THAT. At least I did lift weights saturday, and hike 5 miles both Saturday and Sunday with a few good hills in the loop. But I did gain weight, up 1.5 pounds. I have been hitting the weights hard, but I know I didn't gain a pound and a half of muscle mass. I am going to punish myself for that this week. Next Monday I WILL be out of the 250's
