I always liked
Joni Mitchell - Song for Sharon
I don't often listen to melancholic songs these days...

Evanescence & Seether - Broken
Pretty much every slower/darker song by Evanescence, especially 'The Other Side' & 'Lost in Paradise'
Disturbed - Darkness
Cradled in Love & Carnival of Lust - Poets of the Fall
Wilder Wein & Ohne Dich - Rammstein

Probably plenty more. I don't listen to the 'typical' melancholic songs though, I like it quite aggressive, even if it's sad. Guess that says a lot about me. ;)

Seriously..... you guys got some schooling to be learned about melancholy.
Mommas and the Papas. California Dreaming
[if that doesn't stir feeling with in you, you MUST be a granite statue!]
Linda Rondstant. Blue Bayou
Chris Isaak. EVERYTHING HE WROTE! (especially wicked game, also, let me down easy)
Cranberries..... When you're gone. (and many others)
Dido. White Flag
Cowboy Junkies. Sweet Jane (and others) REALLY listen to their version of Blue Moon.
um.... and a few more. :waving:
now THERE"S some seriously painful meloncholia for you!

Here's a song that you've never heard of (probably) that screams of melancholia, and I really highly recommend:
Sherry Fraser by Marcy Playground.
Seriously, check it out.
Here's one:
INXS Never tear us apart.
......
Pet Shop Boys.
Domino Dancing (not everyone will like that song, but it strikes a chord with me)

Melancholy, and just downright depressing, is Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra. I first heard this in the Kill Bill movie(s).
It's twice as depressing without the dance track.
Still. I like it. :D

Thanks for all the answers. I haven't had time to listen to them all, but I will, eventually.

The other day I heard "The Ballad of Emma Deloner" From Midnight Choir, I guess it is somewhat melancholic, so I'm posting it here.

If I find more songs, I will update this post with them.

Have a nice week everybody!

Guns N Roses - November Rain
