diet help

First off, don't attack the poster. The claim that just because I have weight to lose so I must be wrong is insulting and immature.

As far as cellulite, you are correct as it doesn't come off without surgery. However, look at the post. The post isn't about specific areas, the question is about weight.

Do you really think the question is about cellulite? I will be pretty surprised if it is. Then again, he might also claim his bones are too big and how to reduce them.

He doesn't say weight. He says FAT. In your mind, fat is weight. In my mind, fat is fat and fat is cellulite. Fat and weight are two different things to me. Just because they aren't to you, doesn't mean you're right and I'm wrong.

You don't have personal experience in losing weight and getting to goal, that's obvious. You have books and websites. That's all you have. If that's not fact, not sure what is. You have theory and that's all you have. Never trust a skinny chef.

I lost my weight through hard work, not faith and pixie dust. It takes a lot more than that.
 
let me tryin clear up some of the confusion over what I posted before. First I haven't been eating 1300 calories for six years thats a more recent thing, and the reason i eat egg beaters so much is because they don't have yolks in them and I don't eat egg yolks. Second I said I was trying to lose fat and having minimal progress, I did lose weight over the years, but I did it with over exercise and heavy calorie restriction and most of it was probably lost muscle rather than fat, because I still have fat around my torso. and as for my age I'm 22. As for the 1300 calories a day thats pretty much the average of it, sometimes its a little more sometimes less. any other info you need let me know and thank you all for trying to help me.

First of all if you want to debate the topic, then do so. Don't attack people. That's against the rules on this site. There is plenty of room to discuss and disagree with ideas and concepts w/out making it personal. So just chill a bit, ok?

Secondly, I HAVE lost a lot of weight - FAT yes, since you want to be strident about the difference. I've lost 80lbs and kept it off. I've done it by REDUCING CALORIES and exercising.

Thirdly I don't know why you're dragging cellulite into this discussion, since (a) the OP is not talking about cellulite and (b) there is a lot of debate as to how much cellulite is influenced by fat (it more involves connective tissues and skin).

The bottom line is calorie restriction. However you make that happen - whether it's by limiting groups of foods or whatever, you won't lose weight unless and until you restrict calories.
 
Ok, to the OP:

I did it with over exercise and heavy calorie restriction and most of it was probably lost muscle rather than fat, because I still have fat around my torso. and as for my age I'm 22. As for the 1300 calories a day thats pretty much the average of it, sometimes its a little more sometimes less.

HOw much do you currently weigh?
How tall are you?
What kind of exercise do you get currently?

Based on what you wrote you eat, you may not be eating enough calories, but it's hard to say w/out knowing more info.
 
Fat is fat and fat is cellulite.

And Cellulite can't be lost by diet.

No offense..but who are you to say jack about me personally and what I bring to the forum. You got your hand slapped for giving wrong information and instead of debating with fact and science, you go with what YOU believe and science be damned. I've delt with two others like you already who decided cause they was countered, they would attack me personally. They aren't here cause instead of tearing them down, I continued to state science and fact. I won't attack you. You have your belief and that is fine. I'm happy you lost weight but I will not quiet. I will not sit down. I will not stop giving information that has been proven true over fiction.

I currently weigh about 170 and im 6 feet tall. For exercise lift weights for about 50 minutes 3 times a week and ride my exercise bike right after for about 45 minutes. On the days I dont lift weights I usually go for runs and use the jump rope for about 40 minutes, and I do crunchs, leg raises and push ups everyday.
 
I still can't get past the math here. Have you seen a doctor and have blood work done? Maybe it is medical but the math just doesn't add up. Weight lifting doesn't do anything for fat but the bike does. I'm still thinking that your calorie intake is higher than you think..

OP ... Ok. Sorry for missing your weight and height in the first post. I went back and looked, but was skimming and must have passed right over it.

So looking at things, 170 at 6' is a pretty reasonable body weight. I honestly am not sure you CAN lose bodyfat at that weight w/out being very extreme in your diet. Have you had your bodyfat measured?

And can I ask why you want to lose fat? Why do you think you need to? Is it a body shape issue? Is it possible that you need to tailor your workouts towards building muscle to shape your body, rather than losing fat?

I know it's a lot of questions, but I'd like to be able to give you some real help here (rather than seeing this thread degenerate into argument). :)
 
I know lifting weights doesnt outright burn fat but I know it helps your metabolism. And as for blood work i had it done at a checkup about 6 months ago and it was normal. As for my doctor he has no help for me because im within my ideal weight for my height he says im fine, but ideal weight or not I still have a gut and thats what im trying to fix here.

I'm an observer. You've been here two months, racked up 600 posts, are constantly here, and haven't lost diddly but you spew advice like you're a professional. Until you actually prove you've lost through these "proven" methods, you're just going on theory. Slapped? By you? Not hardly.

You are right. I have been here 2 months. I have gathered alot of posts, you know what most of those are from? Encouraging people.

You are wrong. I've dropped 20 pounds but I did more than that. I gained friends here. I gained support here and I gained respect here.

The data I have provided are facts. It is the same facts as Steve would provide. It's the same that Kara has provide. I back up my advice with scientific websites, case studies, and the like.

I am going to ask you something, but don't take offense. But how is your self-image? I've seen people swear they have a huge gut but they don't. Sometimes what your mind sees isn't the reality.
