Did you do it without the Gym

I've worked with hundreds of people with ED's (going back to 1987) with coursework in Dietetics and Nutrition (no interest in clinical work, so passed on the degree). I doubt that you have read anything I have written besides the 2 posts that got up your nose. Lurking this forum for about a year and a half but only joined when I had something to say which was actually days after you did. So, you can call me a newbie but if you think that the value of a posting is in any way related to the number of posts you are just plain goofy.

:newbie:

No one cares what your credentials are, your advice sucks.

You advised AGAINST exercising for 30 minutes per day, who the hell would take your advice?

That post was for txsqlchick who did want to know my credentials, not you.

Where did I say not to exercise 30 minutes per day?

You gave your opinion on the matter below, in quite a rude way.

I see your problem... you don't read well nor understand English. You answer other peoples posts. Sounds serious. Yep. You should be giving advice in the "Advanced Weight Loss" thread. This isn't your first flame war either. This could be fun for a while except you are so f**king shallow and ignorant it will never get beyond what "EVERYONE" knows, because you are following what EVERYONE does and we know how great you are doing, so spread the word! Like the man said in the sticky for this thread, "Suck it up, Princess".

Did that make sense to anyone else?

You are a complete retard, no joke.

DJAdam, putting others down isn't exactly a form of presenting yourself in a serious manner. You want people to take you seriously? Present yourself in that manner.

I, too, took it that you disregarded 30mins of exercise as something that shouldn't be done. Maybe that wasn't your intention but keep in mind:

Through type, lots of things can be mistrewed and misinterepted. IF you don't want others picking you apart, type as clear as you can, explain yourself if you must.

But calling someone "fucking ignorant" wont get you anywhere.

Things Austin_88 has said, are in compliance to stickies. Stickies that Steve himself wrote. Steve, being someone who knws what hes speaking about.

As far as Austin_88 being shallow and following?? Technically, we're ALL followers here, we're all following the advice given, we're adapting it to ourselves, and we're making our progress, some slow, some fast, some struggling, some breezing through.

Its not up to you to tell someone what or how they are.

I am glad someone else sees where I am coming from, thank you.

remember you dont need 30mins of actual 'routine' excersive i think thats the misconception ... an active person on the job or school will get a 30 min or more workout naturally without even knowing it

Great thread,I love an argument.

I weight train 5x per week because at the end of this I would like to get muscular,as my son terms it "A meat head".I want to look like a 210lb weightlifter I dont want to be a 180lb "normal bloke",just being slim is not my goal.

That is the reason I have done no cardio,my weight loss is fine with a calorie deficit and the weight lifting,I have no ambitions to be able to run a 5k,its not essential to what I want and I could not imagine doing it forever(I have just started hill walking this week to get a bit fitter)but to be honest I could not keep it up forever and once I get to goal weight and am generally healthier that will be the first to go,it does not light my fire in the same way the weights do.

I think in the scheme of things it is all about your goals,if you want to lose weight then a calorie deficit is all that is needed,if you want to improve fitness cardio is essential, and if you want to be muscular resistance training is essential.

that being said, resistance traning or weight training has to be done in a gym like manner with mechanical equipment ?? or can situps/crunches/pull ups/running/swimming do the trick just the same to cut a nice muscular body :gnorsi:

Apart from the pull ups and situps/crunches your other examples are not really resistance training, however full bodyweight routines kick your ass google them and try them,I use weights because I like to do it,but you can get the same results from press ups(various kinds),dips, lunges, medicine balls and a million other exercises.Gymnasts look pretty good and I dont assume they pump iron all week

I dont know if you can link websites on here but on the net a bloke called "mr low bodyfat" has had amazing results using just bodyweight,he has gone fromm 300+lbs to abs.

One of my favorite blogs about fitness is written by a bigger smart ass than I am... and he had a entry a few months back where he was ranting about the amount of "get great abs" products on the market... between videos, to equipment, to pills you can pop.

His opinion, everyone has great abs... EVERYONE... it's just that on the majority of people -they're covered by fat...

Fat does not turn into muscle... Muscle does not turn into bigger muscle unless you're eating more calories than you are currently eating... You want the nice muscular body - you need to lose the fat...

You should also be doing at very minimum body weight exercises to hold onto the muscle you do have...

koool ...

I also check out some " in house ghetto / Fitness From the streets " workouts

Only problem is.... these guys are fit beyond fit and will eat up any gym buff for lunch lol

I also love to watch free running vids ...
