Default Julie's food & exercise journal

Maybe! It didn't go too swell, the cycling... I felt a weak in my legs. Normally I cycle faster.
Good thing I started watching my diet again 'cause apparently I did gain corona weight :/. Just 1 kilo, but still. My goal weight is still 58 kg (127 lbs). I'm 64 kg (141 lbs) now. Let's do thissss.

You seem to be in a mountainous area so 13k over there is like 30k over here :D
It's so flat in Belgium. No mountains for us. Too bad, 'cause I love them.
My 13 km is not very mountainous, just against the mountains in my pictures. According to my app I gained about 120 m. A week ago I did an all day hike up the mountain and gained about 1,000 m in 12.5 km, that was a really hard one. I live in Utah, been here 3 years, moved from Florida (no mountains) and the one thing I like here are our mountains. The winter weather, not so much.
Let's do thissss.
Right!

Whoa 1.000 m, that's insane!!

Today was okay-ish.
Food:
- oatmeal breakfast
- tuna sandwich and cucumber gazpacho
- vegetarian vindaloo
- snack: 3 cinnamon cookies (in my defence: they're tiny!:))

Exercise: 20 minutes of running

I'll do this for two days, because I forgot to write an entry yesterday.
Yesterday:
Exercise: 2 hours and a half cycling trip
Food:
- Breakfast: oatmeal breakfast
- Lunch: gazpacho and a banana
- Dinner: pizza again
- snacks: ginger cookies, cinnamon cookie, apple juice

Today:
Exercise: walking 12k in my city (3 hours)
Food:
- Breakfast: banana with cinnamon paste
- Lunch: sushi salad
- Dinner: gazpacho and popcorn (haha, I know, weird to eat popcorn for dinner, but I love popcorn and it doesn't have much calories!)
- Snacks: apple, some grapes, some cherries, some dried banana

I'm feeling a bit frustrated. I've just been dieting for a long time, or maybe, watching my food for a long time... And I've been much heavier than I am now, so it's kinda working, but still. For others it seems so easy to lose weight. Last time I lost weight was because I stopped birth control (the pill). I'm on a lighter pill now, but maybe I should go off of it anyway. I'm not seeing someone now, and if I am we could switch to condoms or I could maybe consider another form of birth control. It's not just because of my weight, but there are some other things about the pill I don't like (influences your mood, your libido, etc). But last time I did break out loads when I went off it, not looking forward to that...

Definitely true and sometimes awfully frustrating. But those people probably have other problems, even if we don't see them. At least that's what I tell myself to keep myself from comparing me to others too much.

Food for today:
- skipped breakfast because I slept late
- lunch: sandwich with vegan cheese and vegan patty
- dinner: vegetable vindaloo with chickpeas
- snacks: banana, some grapes and cherries, a cinnamon cookie

Exercise:
- 2 hours of walking
- one hour of cycling

I can't sleeeeep! Hate when that happens. I had such an active day so I thought I would fall asleep right away but it's as if my body is still in active mode.
So yeah, lots of cycling today. Went to Brussels and back with a colleague. Six hours of cycling in total.
My food:
- breakfasts: 2 bread buns, one with vegan cheese, the other with a bell pepper spread. And a banana.
Lunch: avocado toast
Dinner: my Indian vindaloo from the other day but with couscous (i really ate a big portion... And quite late too. Maybe that's also why my body refuses to go to sleep).
Snacks: some cookies on the road

Oh yes yesterday wasn't a good day calories wise cause I had some drinks. Too tempting... First BBQ of the year and there was sangria. I did say no to the crisps so eh, small victory.

A bit of sangria at the first bbq is not a big deal. Just don't make a habit of it and you'll be fine. Sounds like today was ok, depending on what "some" cookies means. Six hours of cycling is very impressive, you burned a lot of calories doing that.

Keep up the good work!

My backside hurts just thinking about 6 hours of cycling :D Hope you had fun and you definitely deserved a larger portion of vindaloo.

I loved reading this-

Wowsers! When you live in a vast country like Australia it is so funny to read "Went to Brussels and back"

Thanks guys!
Yeah Belgium is tiiiiny in comparison to Australia. I would love to go to Australia one day.... (but not run into huge spiders). We did 120 k in total, but with race bikes. My lower back doesn't hurt, but my ass and neck are a bit sore :D

Yeah I would have preferred healthier snacks than cookies but neither me or my sports companion felt like taking a rucksack on a hot day, so cookies were the only sources of energy that fit in my back pocket :) ... I put them in myfitnesspal and according to that app (of course, I know the calories burnt doing sports are only an estimate) I still burnt way more calories than I took in.

Food yesterday:
- skipped breakfast because of sleeping late
- lunch: sushi salad
- dinner: broccoli soup
- snacks: popcorn, some cherries, an apple, four ginger cookies

Exercise: 6,5 k walk (slow pace, I walked 1 hour and 40 minutes)

Looks like a lovely day!
