You most certainly did not fail. 5 pounds is a really good loss for December.

If you look at my detailed posting you will see that my weight loss gets very skewed due to water retention issues. I would have lost a lot less weight had I still been retaining water at the end of the month.

Hopefully your water retention will be a thing of the past on the 8th for your gym competition. Good luck for that. You really are doing great.

2 lbs this month for me. But hey, next year is just another fresh new start.

Thanks Allyphoe and Margaret! You guys are right. A 5 pound loss is better than nothing or even more so......the dreaded *G* word.....dun...dun...dun......GAINING!

The majority of people actually put on quite a lot of weight during December. I had actually heard a number higher than the five pounds that Phoebe mentioned. Losing weight and maintaining are both definite success stories in my book. I didnt get to be 294 pounds without learning that it is very easy to put on weight.

Congratulations to everyone who lost weight or maintained.

How has everyone else done?

You might be like Phoebe who spent half of December on vacation and spent the time doing tons of walking.
 
I am planning on going for runs on the beach, they may even have a good gym there so I may not have to miss much workouts at all, BUT they always have really good pasta dishes so....
