Hi, Shell. Your food sounds good. My husband & I are both booked in for sleep studies. It will be interesting to see how they go. I think my sleep is affected by my husband's snoring & his getting up 4 or so times a night.
I hope you do get a new machine. Poor sleep makes me feel so grumpy.

Thanks Cate. I am glad I have a options on my healthy eating plan. Is this the first time you and your husband are doing a sleep study?

Fridays are my weight check day. I lost 1.8 pounds, so I officially weigh 258. I have noticed my legs are actually smaller than before. I think the water exercise is working. For a brief second, I thought let me increase my water exercise by a few hours to hurry along the process, but then I quickly came back to my senses. I don't need anymore flare ups.

This morning I did my water exercise alone. I missed the early morning group and they didn't have the later group because the schedule has changed. Apparently, they will no longer have the swallow water exercise on Fridays; which is fine with me, I also enjoy working out alone.

Today is my off day, so I think I am going to clean the house, but not sure yet.

Yesterdays calorie intake 1283

Breakfast: coffee with cream and sugar; 1 slice-wheat bread with peanut butter; grapes

Lunch: Grilled ham & cheese sandwich, veggie soup

Dinner: collard greens (FYI very low in calories), grilled steak with onions and mushrooms

Evening snack: Jicama (very low in calories), raw peach

Water intake 56 fl oz.

My son wants us to cook fried chicken then dip the chicken in BBQ sauce and doubled eggs on Sunday with some type of rice. Its sound good, but the calorie intake is another issues for me. I might have to bake me some chicken with BBQ sauce or lemon pepper and do some type of veggie because I can only eat 1/3 cup of rice (maybe we will try the cauliflower rice). I don't know if that's beneficial for me. The challenge is going to be the desert, which will probably be something chocolate.

Congratulations! Also sensible thinking about not overdoing it.
Your son's food plan sounds... No, actually it doesn't sound tempting to me. I really don't like most barbecue sauces. Baked chicken could be a good alternative and while you have the oven on maybe you can put in some veggies, tossed with whatever sauce you want so they caramelize nicely? I'm not a fan of cauliflower rice but baked cauliflower is delicious.

Yes, it is Shell. I'm quite sure that it's G's once-broken nose that makes him snore & it's his snoring that wakes me up/keeps me awake.
Your son's food request sounds awful to me luckily. I hate fried, crumbed chicken & not a fan of barbecue sauce either. I love roast chicken & almost all roast vegetables. If you cook rice, try doing half rice/half Quinoa. It's very nutritious & it makes it light, fluffy & delicious.

Isn't that a gorgeous feeling, to actually see the difference in your legs? For me, the first thing I noticed was ankles - they'd never actually gone away, but they got more prominent, which I've loved. And then shin-bones, and a touch more definition in my thighs - lovely feeling!
Absolutely cheers, and go, you! \o/

LaMaria and Cate the food suggestions are a good idea; and the roasted vegetables sounds good. Amy it is a gorgeous feeling to see the difference in my legs and it sound like you understand the feeling.

Yesterday, I went to lunch with a friend. We went to the Chicken Salad Chick; it's a popular place in the area right now. I enjoyed spending time with my friend. Today was good.

My calorie intake yesterday was 1228

Breakfast: coffee, sugar and creamer

Lunch: Old South Chicken Salad, Mixed fruit, sour pickle, vitamin water, prunes

Dinner: Moscato, grilled steak

Sounds like a good day - friend time is awesome. What was in your chicken salad; was it good?

Hi Shell, Are you down over 5 pounds in 3 weeks now? That’s fantastic. You seem really active and I think the water exercise is great. I like your varied diet too! How do you eat the jicama?

Approximately two years ago. I realized I spending to much time alone. So, I made if my mission to meet with friends once a month to socialize. We find different places to meet for breakfast or lunch. I actually went to the Chicken Salad place twice this month. The southern chicken salad was actually very good. Its made with eggs and sweet pickles. My friend had the lemon and basil chicken salad. She enjoyed hers also.

Good for you coming to that realisation that you need to make sure you caught up with friends. I have an inclination to become a hermit & have to push myself into social situations. Lemon & basil chicken salad sounds nice. Do you get to put your own dressing on?

The chicken salads are already premade, however, if you get the chicken salad on salad a dressing comes with it. I haven't tried that one yet, but my friend last week Monday actually did and she didn't using the dressing.

I woke up tried this morning; went to bed early last and I actually took a nap yesterday. I think I dealing with a fibromyalgia flareup. I usually feel really exhausted when it comes on. The areas of pain are manageable, so that's a positive. I just have the feeling of exhaustion. At the same time, I am grateful because the exhaustion only happens now when I am dealing with a flareup. In the past, it was all the time. My only issues today, is I really need to go to the gym because tomorrow I have training all day, so I am not going to the gym.

I am trying not to worry about it, but right now, I really don't have the energy to do anything. If I don't go to the gym today, I will walk in the evening. I figure something is better than nothing. The major thing for me is not to stress. Which is easier said that done, because now I worried about my training tomorrow. I am sitting and listening, so it will be alright.

I didn't put my calorie intake the last few days.

Saturday calorie intake 1407 and water 48 fl oz
Sunday calorie intake1648 and water 32 fl oz

Listen to your body when it needs rest, even if your illness makes you need more rest than others sometimes. Missing a day of training is not the worst thing in the world and a walk is a fine thing.

It’s amazing what you’ve accomplished with the fibromyalgia. The other day I realized what with the focus on my diet and exercise over the past 2 months, that I’ve also shifted focus towards a bit of a holistic approach to life. Taking care of yourself in one important area seems to open the door to real improvement in the other areas, like relationships and spiritual health.

Hope you feel better soon and get some energy back. :)

Thank LaMaria, Cate and Davisgirl. I actually rested the entire day without walking. Today is the first day I went back to the gym. It was nice to get in the water. I wasn't able to do much with the group because I got there late, but I did my own water exercise. It's 7pm and I'm exhausted, so I guess, I'll go to bed early tonight.

Monday, I messed up on my calorie intake. I actually ate two packs of medium size nacho chips which ended up being 300 calories each. Anyway I ate 2246 total calories on Monday. Tuesday was much better. I only ate 1201 calories.

Cheers for early bed! Sleep is so absolutely, fundamentally important for health - I'm convinced that good sleep is as essential as keeping hydrated. Hope you're sound asleep right now!

Hey Shell, yeah the 2 packs of chips wasn't a great idea, but it appears you have rebounded well and are on the right track now. That's what matters most.

Our house has a lot of snacks for the grandkids, I always try to make sure they include some not too high calorie things. You can find individual snack packs that are around 100 calories, like popcorn, those are safer. I do eat some of those from time to time, you'll see them on my food log.

Keep up the good work!

Rob you are absolutely correct. Thanks for the correction. I really need that accountability. I actually had time to think about the chips because I didn't even have them in the house. I asked for them and to be honest, I thought the bag was a 150 calories until I actually read that it was two serving in one bag. The second bag was actually for another day, but I self-sabotaged after reading the first bag. So, it's actually not good for me to have it in the house. However, having the healthy snacks in the house is a good idea. Yet, I don't know if I am ready for that because I still in the self-sabotaging state, so I am going to have to get that under control first.

I weighed myself today. I didn't lose or gain weight. I am still at 158, which is acceptable for this week. I really didn't do a lot of exercise this week and I went past my calorie intake several time. I don't even know if I am going to exercise today because I am still dealing with the fatigue. It was difficult to get up this morning. I probably would have slept a few more hours if I didn't have to go to the doctor. Now, I am about to go to the doctor, so I'll see if they are registering the same weight.

My calorie intake for Wednesday is 1377; water 48 fl oz.
Thursday's calorie intake 1751 water 32 fl oz.

I didn't meet my step goal this week, thus far. However, I did exercise twice this week, which was good for me. I have today and tomorrow to hopefully do something, but right now, I don't know how that will go. I mostly planning on focusing on next week.
