Creatine = good for abs

When i started using creatine i have been able to do like 2 or 3 times the amount of weight or reps i normally could !!! I am now doing with a 20kg plate on my chest 4 sets of 20-25. I really do think weight with ab workouts is the way to go not the high rep bull ****.

Can I ask how much creatine you're taking and when?

Yeah, and why so quick to give the credit to creatine. I'm not saying it doesn't help, but I just think your effort in the gym and effort in eating right is the big issue. I have never taken creatine, and I'm making huge gains.

Well i have been taking it 3 times a day on workout days and once on non workout days before i talked to you and der but since then i have been taking it only after my workouts and before i take a NO supp

I do my abs on my non workout days tho and dont use My No supplement or creatine after it. i do my abs every 2nd or 3rd day.

I leaned down and got my abs to show, and got to 8% BF "without" any "major" supps. The "only" things I currently take are: Fish oils, Flax Oils, and Whey. Creatine is NOT an absolute necessary supp IMO within the context we are speaking. And, definately, not necessary for getting the abs to show, IMO. I think persons in the know, would say this goes without even saying, really.

In addition, at one point in August IR max 340lbs on the bench (5' 7" 154lbs) without creatine and I was "splitting" my diet deficit/surplus days 4:3. If I would have applied a surplus continued throughout the week, and tweaked my weight training (and contents of diet), I am sure this would have went up (just makes sense).

Im an old man (46), and if anyone has a deficiency or "less than prime" internal chemicals it would be a person at my age. Not to mention possible longer recovery (rest between WO's) possibly.

Good Ole Fashioned hard work (training) and deficit dieting are the miracle workers.

Speaking for myself, I "earned" my low body fat without fat loss pills, (and muscle gains "appropriate" for my goals) without creatine, or any other "pills" other than fat oils and Whey powder. I addition, one "doesnt" need fat loss pills the last few pounds, this is hog wash will not make it come off any faster nor be a small or large miracle worker, lol.

Its just me, but I dont need the stuff to meet my personal goals. If I work hard, and BLAST OFF........I will EARN my goal without a problem. But, like I said, this is just me.

Im more concerned about progression and "response from my body"---rather than "specifically" the weight being used on exercises pertaining to Ab/torso. These exercises while they may have some benefits (of course), it is NOT "the thing" that brings out the abs. Its genetics (body composition--look at people's torso's, they are not made the same), and diet to bring a low body fat percentage.

On a side note. My abs have always been large. I can honestly say that they are the SAME size now as they were when I first started. If they did grow any, it isnt an obvious growth to my naked eye. I have gained more in strength, endurance, and flex/control ability than anything else when we are disussing the ab/torso region.

ROCK ON! Everyone!

Best wishes to all of you!

I hope I don\'t misunderstand the OP but he does not take creatine just to do ab workouts? This would be like those guys who see a 29.99 abs gizmo and they buy it because you will get great abs according to the ad.

lol no, he's just saying his ab exercises has increased a lot. He made a post before about his other lifts too!

huh? what did you mean by that? :p

Messen' with ya, my friend.......HEHE

How was your b-day?

I can strap....100lbs on my chest, and do reps (decline half-ups) (wow!).....Holy crap ola...I wonder what creatine will do for extra strength and bringing out the abs more....hehehe (sarcasm---messen around, HEHHEE and all that stuff)......but truthfully.....I can strap 100lbs on my chest, and weighing 154lbs...at the time......over half my weight was on my chest.....The body is a wonderful machine......Baby!

I just believe youngens out to get the basics of gym training down and hard work and determination, and train for a while (and alot have trouble just doing this), before looking to small "tweaks" over the counter in attempt to enhance performance/results---over the counter and legal (example creatine)

Any hoot....

ROCK ON!

I've meant to say it before Chillen... Benching substantially more than double body weight is just sick. Very few people on the planet can do that

Yes, but its the truth. I doubt I can do that now, I just got over being sick for three weeks, and ate nearly next to nothing (couldnt hold anything down). But, my last WO on the bench (after spending one week bring my nutrition and calories up), I was at 230 for 12 reps. One could fairly deduce what the 1R max is from that, though I havent physically tried. I am not into knowing what this is actually. However, like most weight trainees, I get the spirit of wanting to know once in a while.

I'm not saying I don't believe you, it was meant as a compliment:)

I never go for max...Is there some type of calculator that tells you what you can do based on your reps? I can do 12 reps with 205 for my first two sets then 10-11 for my third and 9-10 for my fourth So maybe I could do about 14-15 reps If I went to failure on the first set(damn and I outweigh you by 35 lbs LOL) I don't know if you can tell by my avatar, but I've gotten a lot leaner...I THINK I'm around 11% I just have this little bit in the love handle and very low ab area I want to lose

Glad to hear the creatine is working for you. When I started using creatine I gained five pounds of water weight and all of my lifts were all increased a level. It was a great feeling...

Benching 155 felt like 135 before the creatine, rowing 130 felt like 100 before the creatine, etc. It's awesome.

BCAA's are really great too, you said you were taking those too right?

There are calculators to see what your one rep max is, but they are all bogus and incorrect. If you do happen to calculate your one rep max, try to actually do it and see :p
