5.5k run, excellent. I hope boot camp goes well.

Thanks Butterfly.

Well, boot camp did go okay. Kicked my ass actually-lol. It is tough when I am doing it but it feels good afterwards. I was supposed to run tonight but we are also getting freezing rain and 5 to 10 cm of snow so I think I will pass-lol. I run in the snow but the freezing rain make trails and sidewalks treacherous. So I will run another day on the weekend.

I hoped to get all my patio furniture put away and my Christmas lights put up this weekend, but I don't think that is going to happen. It is supposed to get warmer next week so I guess I will save everything for then. I am not ready for Winter yet. Why is it I live here again-lol?

Funny I love Canada and all it has to offer but I am getting tired of the snow and cold. Guess I am getting old.

That is it for today. Keep fighting the fight!

Yeah Paul Gross - I guess we all age differently-lol. He has directed a war movie just recently that they say is really good. I haven't seen it though.
That was the movie that had me crying a couple weeks ago. It really was good.

Good work on the exercise!

It snows here maybe twice per winter. I have always had this crazy idea that I would like to experience a real northern winter but some friends who have tell me I would quickly find that not too appealing. Meanwhile it was almost 90 here today...sigh

Speaking as someone who can break a sweat while making snow angels in his underwear, I do -NOT- ever enjoy the heat.

*Disclaimer: Do not attempt to make snow angels in your underwear; the neighbors begin to talk behind your back.

Experience the winter without hating it: Go on a skiing or snowmobiling vacation.

Mowens, I think I shared the story of sweating through my heavy Carhartt in a driving wind in sub-zero (Celsius) in Quebec City. It became a shell of smelly ice.

I love to hike over/through fresh snow, but I'll admit that sinking in more than knee-high with each step is only fun when a place by the fire is within arm's reach.

If you can't make snow angels in your underwear then what is the whole point of snow angels-lol?

Yeah I hear you. I have lived here my whole life so you would think I would be used to the snow. I can't lie- I do like the snow and the cold just don't like driving in it- oh DAMN- I am getting OLD!!

It is actually quite the workout to run in knee deep snow. Feet get cold but what a workout!

We have a lot of farming up here so we hear it all the time- too wet, too dry, too hot, too cold. You are right though we are never happy about the weather.

Had a good weekend. Not much exercise as we had freezing rain on Saturday morning so couldn't run as it is almost dangerous to run even with spikes on. So I took it easy. It was nice to just relax for a couple of days. I don't think I do enough of that sometimes.

Boot camp tonight, rest day tomorrow, running Wednesday, boot camp Thursday, running Friday- well that is my week-lol. Hopefully I am able to accomplish all that along with work and family stuff.

It is supposed to warm up here for the next few days which is good news- I am not ready for Winter yet. I still have my patio furniture out. My water barrels are still full and I haven't got my Christmas lights up yet so hopefully I can get that done too.

That is it for today. Keep fighting the fight!

Ewwww... freezing rain. I hate that worse than snow. Well, at least for driving. lol! Good luck with the Christmas lights!!

Thanks. Yeah I hate it worse than snow too. At least you can shovel the snow- the ice doesn't come off as well.

Boot camp kicked my boot again-haha. Lots of upper body exercises which is what I need. Running is great for the waist down but doesn't do very much for upper body. That being said when I do upper body it HURTS! I guess if it doesn't hurt a little it isn't doing anything for you. We will do the workout again on Thursday so I know it will hurt then too. Probably worse as I am already sore from yesterday.

Today is my day off. So I will rest from the exercise which may help me with the sore muscles. The run tomorrow should help too.

Food has been normal. I am still eating the same breakfast and lunch as I always have- drives my wife nuts-lol. Supper last night was homemade Turkey soup. I have to admit I did have a couple of homemade biscuits with honey on it. I shouldn't have had it but I still have problems with homemade biscuits and scones-lol. Normally I used to eat a half dozen so two won't hurt me too much considering I just did boot camp.

Weather has improved a little here. Roads are clear - there is still snow on the ground but it is supposed to warm up a little so it will probably disappear by the weekend.

That is it for today. Keep fighting the fight!

MMMMMM Home made biscuits!
Got any gravy?
Wow I think I gained weight just typing that.

I never got the biscuits and gravy thing - especially for breakfast-lol. I have traveled down in the States quite a few times and seen that on various menus down there. I guess it is what you get used to eating.

It's a southern thing - I'm with you, I just like them with butter, though given a choice, I'll go with rye or sourdough with salted butter.

Biscuits and gravy is one of my favorites for breakfast! I don't get them often, but if we're having a cheat day, it's probably on my plate. lol!
