Hi everyone no didnt mean I couldn't donate because I am on Cohens it is because of my age you have to registrar between the ages of 18-40 to donate but thankyou to all you girls who will think about it. Too many it would be the best xmas present getting a transplant I admit I never thought about it till my son-in-law got sick and I would like to think there would be someone out there for him.

My sister-in-law works at a health food shop and she asked a naturapath what vitamin I should take and he said BLACKMORES WOMEN'S VITALITY MULTI and has chromine in it as well, it is really good I have bitten my nails all my lfe and now have stopped and my nails are so hard they say biting nails is a mineral deficiency so maybe they are right. I have so much energy as well.
Plus thankyou all for the support everytime I look at my grandchildren 5 and 7 we get teary wondering how they will manage without him we are trying to be positive but being a stage 4 and with it in his bone marrow I dont think its good.

But better go I am cooking mum a mango fruit cake suitable for diabetics and it smells terrific if anyone would like the recipe let me know so simple to make. cheers dianne

Hi everyone,

Great to see everyone so focussed at this time of year. Everyone is doing so well. Yum, mango fruit cake - it sounds delicious and making my mouth water. I think I can smell it cooking through the computer. ;)

Missysmum: It is amazing how far research has come with stem cells. We will pray that a match is available for your son-in-law. My brother had people being tested overseas as well. He ended up having an auto stem cell transplant. Could this be an option for your son-in-law? Don't give up hope and be positive as much as you can.

Joysey: I tried the tea you suggested. There are 3 varieties of the same brand. The one that really works is the laxative tea. My sister tried it and had cramps at 5.00am. Hesitant to take it if you need to go shopping. :D

Casey: You are doing well and we can all help each other reach our goals as that is also my wish for March. :)

Moni: Congratulations and I nominate you as Captain Motivator as you have achieved your mini goals and are an inspiration to all of us. :D

Keep up the good work and have a good night.

Hello to all you incredible shrinking ladies!!!

I must start with a confession.
I was naughty today.:(
I have stuck to the diet 100% since starting and through 4 Christmas functions.
The only foods I still miss are lattes and chocolate. And even the call of the latte is fading. But chocolate...(sigh)she still calls as loud as ever! Today I had two little chocolates- they are about the size of kool mints. There, I said it. I cheated.
I wish I could say that I felt guilty afterwards. I wish I could say that it didnt taste as good as I remembered it. But that would be lying.
I drank almost a litre of water immediately afterwards. And I am hoping that what I have done is not too self-sabotaging.
On the bright side, those two little pieces put an end to my craving. They were an adequate amount. I didnt feel like I needed to go back time and time again like I normally would. So hopefully that is behind me now and I can continue on with no naughties till Christmas Day.

Special mention to Moni- You Go Girl!!! You are BLITZING those Christmas goals!!!! You're such an inspiration!

Hve a nice night y'all!
Nat:)

DAY 80
Started at 90.3
Today’s weight 66.7

Hi all you wonderful ladies. I am so, so sorry I haven’t been able to hop on the thread for a couple of weeks as I have been flat out with business and trying to clean the house and prepare for Christmas, I am sure you all know what I am talking about. I firstly want you all to know even though I haven’t been on for a while that I think of each and every one of you every day as I class you all as my friends.

CRYSS: Thread 14 December 2005 Page 24. I couldn’t agree with you more. I love this thread and everyone on it is absolutely supportive to each other which is something we do not receive from the clinic. I guess they are in it for the money and we are in it for the weight loss, that’s the difference. If I didn’t have you guys to talk to and think of though out the day I would be feeling really lonely on the diet. It is great to have you all. To everyone, all my forum friends, please write my email address down somewhere just in case something does happen to this forum, I don’t want to loose you all. joy@finer.com.au.
Cryss, yes, that yoghurt you bought is great. I have one for lunch every day now as it is actually lower in cals than normal natural yoghurt and lower in everything else too. Another excellent thing about it, it tastes great doesn’t it…..If your not sure on the tea email me and I’ll send you a picture of the packet so you will know if it is the right one. Re the signs of Human Growth Hormone, no can’t see any difference, I guess we wouldn’t feel it though, I really don’t know.
Wow, I am having a giggle, yes, the tea works and when it is ready there is no time to spare, just have to run to the loo, I bet that tipped the scales the following morning. Just reading through all the treads now so I guess I will see the results shortly….Re tea: are you taking it just before you go to bed, if so then try taking it around 6.00pm instead and then it should work by the morning instead of the afternoon, any probs just email me, we’ll get it right for you…..

KASEYSMUM: Thanks for saying that in your thread, I couldn’t have said it any better myself. I didn’t mean to offend anyone either but I guess everything was just so positive and supportive and then when I read that I felt really annoyed that someone could partially slander it before even trying it. I do hope ROS does go on the diet because if she does she will know what we all rave on about, it is just great and I hope you join us in the future with your story of success as well.
Also Kaseysmum, you have don’t an excellent job taking over the secret santa. A great big thank you for all the time you have devoted to it, and I am use I can say that is from all of us. YOU’RE THE BEST……

MONI: I know I am answering you late, but I am sure the silverside didn’t effect your diet. As it is a week later you can honestly tell me if it did or not. You are doing excellent, congratulations...MONI: which type of vitamins does your cohens clinic sell. Mine one sell the NEW WAYS ones.

NAT & CRYSS: Yes, you are 100% correct with what you found out about the HGH. A lot of body builders actually inject themselves with it to assist with muscle growth. I did purchase some once from the states and you took a couple of tablets every night before bed as it works when you are asleep, but as usual didn’t persist with them so I do have a bottle left, I might just start taking them again to see what happens now. If they work, I’ll let you all know about them. Here is the website of the ones I purchased and they are o.k. to come in through customs if anyone is thinking of it. I love your photo on the forum it looks very inquisitive….
NAT: Thanks for the vitamin info, I just ran out yesterday and didn’t want to get any more of those NEW WAYS ones the clinics sell, I couldn’t believe they were into network marketing…Yes, my periods, come and go in a day but usually only 2 days at any rate, but boy, I am bruising very easily. I have just check all the contents of that Yoplait yoghurt 70% - green label. And it has everything lower than the totally natural yoghurt, I would love to know your thought on it, I have been having it now for lunch every day for a week, there are all different flavours about 80cals per 200g less again than natural and it hasn’t effected my weight loss. I will also get those vitamins you suggested, thanks for that tip.

DANPOLL: I bet you are going to tip into the 60’s today, can’t wait to find out…

IMR: You must be looking like a super model now, congratulations on such success. Congratulations on hitting the 50’s, you are an inspiration to all of us.

40KG: Welcome, wow, 35 kgs is FANTASTIC, and only 10kgs to go, you can do it, just think only 10kgs not 35 any more. Keep going and you’ll really appreciate you did. All I can say is try the tea. My email is above so just send me your mail address and I’ll send you a picture of what the packet looks like. KEEP IT UP, I know Christmas time is hard but just get straight back on it in the new year. We are all here to support you no matter what.

MYSHY: Nearly crashed the car, oh my god, I can’t stop laughing, have to stop typing to contain myself. After you have been on the tea for a few weeks it really settles down, trust me, it is only in the beginning that it is really dominant on its release, I guess you know what I mean…10kgs Congratulations, you are a winner. How much do you have to go now, you must be nearly there.
Myshy, are you arable to give us your recipe for the Vegie Muffins.

MEL: I can’t believe you have grown 3cm it must be the HGH. Keep an eye on it, have you noticed that your jeans look shorter.

MISSYS-MUM: All our thoughts are with you and I personally haven’t forgotten you either. I have also been busy with work and running mum in and out of the hospital as her leg is totally ulcerated and I am so afraid that she will loose that one as well. We have to keep strong…

BARBRA: Great to hear you are going well and going to stick to it on Christmas day.
You will have already lost a couple of KGS by now, that’s great. If you don’t mind me asking, how much do you have to loose. We are all here to support you every single step of the way.

MAY EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND THE HAPPIEST NEW YEAR EVERY.
TAKE CARE EVERY ONE AND BEST WISHES TO ALL.
:D :D JOY xxxxxxxxxxxx :D :D

Day 49 - I've hit 109.4kg!

Just wanted to share my excitment with you all! I'm down to 109.4kg this morning!!!! WAHOOO. I've now lost a total of 15.6kg in just under 7 weeks. 'Joseys' Green tea may be leathel but it sure does WORK! I'm still 4.4kg from my xmas goal, but either way, I sure am happy that I'm now under the 110 mark.

Don't lose sight of your goals over Xmas! As the Cohens clinic said in one of their recent emails - Christmas is about friends & family, not FOOD.

PS. found this interesting site - If only the 'Fat' didnt cost so much, I'd buy you all a "PetFat" .......hahaha!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! Hope the new year brings Health & Happiness your way.

Hi everyone.

It's such a busy of time of year! Hope you've all got your christmas shopping done and bought lovely new clothes to show off your shrinking bodies for Christmas day.

Mel, congratulations on getting under 110kg - that's fantastic!

Joysey, congratulations to you hitting 66.7kg. I bet you are looking fabulous!

Moni, you have hit all your mini goals with such determination. Well done!

Casey, keep up the water. Sounds like you have settled well and truly into the diet and you are doing great.

Divinemissnat, 57.5kg is fantastic! I hope your weigh in went well.

Missysmum, I am definitely going to look into getting registered on the bone marrow register. Stay strong and my thoughts are with you and your family.

Barbara, hope you've settled into the diet okay and the headaches etc have subsided for you.

Myshy, not long to go until you order your refeed. You must be feeling great! Try and stay focused because apparently the more you stick to the program in the weeks leading up to the refeed, the easier your body adopts to the new food during the refeed process.

rjm, hope you are going well since coming back from your holidays. Thank you for all your wonderful support in the months that we did this diet together.

Everyone, you have all been wonderful support to me during my journey on this program and my refeed. Have a very merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year.

Lisa :)

Bad Bad Day

Hey girls,

well today I had my first taste of Dr Cohen-itis.

I have had a cold for a few days and Patrick kindly bought me some Strepsils, not thinking I scoffed half a packet! All bloody sugar! anyway I call Cohen to talk to my consultant to see what the go is, she's not there, but some guy answers the phone, Tim.

Tim tells me it's ok about the Strepsils it will all go in a few days, but then tells me that because they haven't as yet received my blood test (lost/misplaced at the blood centre) he doesn't think "Dr Cohen" will be able to write my refeed!!! I would have to re start and REPAY! I'm furious! I feel like packing the whole thing in, if I can't finish it properly what’s the bloody use?

God I'm so down ... I'm going to try and get a blood test early in the morning, but he says that’s no guarantee Dr Cohen will take me back! I feel like I'm in a nightmare, if this thing isn't hard enough as it is, I've god some bloody consultant reading me the Terms and Conditions of my eating plan!

I feel sick to the stomach ... I can't afford another $700.:(

Hi everyone
Cryss, I don't understand why you wopuld have to repay??? Can you please let me know, as it sounds a bit of a worry...it was hard enough to pay once, I would hate to have to pay again?
Merry Christmas everyone...will be thinking of you, I am just grateful I can eat crayfish that day!!

My Response to Yoplait yoghurt

Joysey- You asked my opinion on the Yoplait yoghurt. My first reaction was if its 70% less sugar what about the other 30%? I also firmly believe that if a certain type of food is prescribed on the diet there is a reason for this.
So I decided to do a little research on the internet website for Yoplait. Now while the calories are low its the ingredients you have to look at here. Firstly the yoghurt contains FRUCTOSE ie sugar from fruit. First no-no. Second it contains Thickener 1422 which from what i gleaned from the net is derived from corn- which we are also not allowed.
Compare this to the natural yoghurt I have been eating which has the following ingredients: Pasteurised reduced fat milk, non-fat milk solids and live cultures(acidophilus etc)
I'm afraid the Yoplait no fat gets a thumbs down from me. I wouldnt go near it. And while you say it hasnt affected you weightloss, perhaps you should count yourself lucky that it hasnt. The question then needs to be asked- could you have lost MORE if you hadnt been eating it? And maybe it hasnt affected YOUR weightloss, but it might be detrimental to someone else's. WARNINGIf you are going to take the risk and have something that is not on the allowed foods list or is a deviation from what you know you can have YOU MUST READ THE INGREDIENTS!!!

I dont mean to harp on about this but I want EVERYONE to get the best results possible!

At the Cohen meeting before I started the diet I was told this diet is not about calories. As I see it, this diet is about making food our medicine. If you look at your allowed foods list most of the foods are not pre-packaged or processed. Most do not contain preservatives. They are simple and healthy foods and by not adding all those extras our bodies start functioning better. I know mine is :)

Cryss- I cant believe your day!!! Surely that cant be your responsibility that the pathology centre has lost your results??? I also dont understand how that means you have to re-pay... I hope it all turns out allright.

Hugs to everyone!
Nat x

Crysse - Don't Worry

CRYSS: I have read through your posting 4 times and I am sitting here BL@@DY BOILING, they CAN NOT do that to you. If you had your blood test done then ring Melbourne Pathology or the pace that did it, tell them your name and the date it was done and they will find it and resend it to the numskulls, I definitely wouldn’t pay for it again. You go to the same clinic as me, MITCHAM, just great aren’t they, they only time I ever hear from them is to remind me of the blood test. 1. you will have proof of the blood test and if they have lost it then it is their problem not yours and you won’t have to pay $700 again, the blood test place can just find the copy and resend it to them. If we all think about it, if we had our blood tests and then provided them with all of them at once prior to re-feed they could then analysis it, it does not have to be done in segments as long as they have them nearing the end of our diet. I am here to back you up the whole way through this and if you need any help then call me (03) 9436 1436. What ever you do DON’T GIVE UP just because of some stupid consultant that thinks he’s GOD. I am sure if Dr. Cohen new what he said to you he would also be disappointed with his comments. DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT, everything is going to be fine, promise. Let me tell you a little story, when I went for my first blood test the receptionist (MIND YOU), Elaine, phoned me and basically told me off because it was a different name, my name is Catherine Joy Kingston and everyone calls me JOY, but the blood test had Catherine on it. Well my god, tell me how many Kingston’s at exactly the same address would be on their file, must have been a bit of stress for the brain I’d say, (B!tchy aren’t I), any way explained to them that if they had of checked my visa card they would have seen Catherine on it but I guess, and I know I am 100% right, they only looked at the $$$$$$$$ sign and not the name. Don’t let it worry you, you’ve paid your money and they can’t do that as you have proof.
NAT: Thanks for your analysis, that’s great, you are so thorough, appreciate your advise. I have found I was loosing between 200 & 300g per day before eating it for lunch daily and the weight loss is still the same but I agree that even though it may be o.k. for me that it might not be good for everyone else.

Nat

NAT: Just thinking, as I don't eat my 2 pieces of fruit each day which can be mixed with the natural yoghurt, do you think the fruit in the Yoplait 70% less sugar one would counter act this. I just did a quick calculation and the sugar in the 2 pieces of natural fruit tallys up more thant the 5% fruit in the Yoplait yoghurt?

Hi everyone
Joyce, as you know I DIDN'T get to the 60's because I put on 600gms for no reason!! I am hoping it was just fluid as it has been so hot here! I always have problems in summer, even when I did another weight loss diet. I do a lot better in WINTER! Have not idea why??
I will tell you all that I HAVE lost 31 Kilos so 19 to go. :) Although I am going to aim for 15.
Cryss - I am sure the refeeds are exactly the same, if you want a copy and do it by yourself (if you have to pay) I have a copy.
Well I am off house sitting for the next 3 weeks, they have a pool and some gym equipment, so I am going to use all to start toning.
I hope you all have a safe and Merry Christmas :) Oh and thank you to my secret Santa, I loved it!
Carolyn

Hiya everyone!

Joysey You ask some tricky questions!! Re- the fruit, I'm really not sure. It may counteract the fructose but that still doesnt account for the thickener derived from corn (although the thickener is not in every flavour by the look of it.) Which flavours of Yoplait no fat have you been eating? Why arent you eating the two pieces of fruit? I cant wait for my fruit every day!
I am actually quite bummed about this at the moment. I am staying in Perth with my mum and yesterday we went grocery shopping for Christmas- the fruit here is TERRIBLE!!! It is all really small, very expensive and not that tasty (my orange last night might as well have been a grapefruit- yeccchh!!) AND TRAGEDY OF ALL TRAGEDIES I cant find a mango anywhere. We were at three shopping centres yesterday not one supermarket or fruit shop had ANY:mad:
Why is Perth always a place of suffering for me???

On the bright side my mum is most impressed about what I have been doing and wanted to know all about it. She has had a hysterectemy this year and as a result has stacked on a bit of weight around her middle. She is all geared up to do her easyslim system in the new year (it worked for her years ago) but if that doesnt give her results she wants to do Cohens! She asked me what it cost and I wouldnt tell her at first, but last night while we were talking privately i told her and her response- "oh thats not bad, thats nothing if it gets you the results you want" NOT what I had expected!

Cryss Any further news on whats happening with the blood test fiasco?

Nat:)

Cryss - its the pathology collection centers responsibility as they have lost the sample. If it is results that are missing, it is all done using biochemistry and printed out, and a hard copy is often stored on the computer, i would chase them up get this sorted, you dont want to pay again. Hope it works out for you.

I was bad yesterday and broke for the first time, i was out to lunch and NOTHING was what i could eat, it was all wrapped in BREAD, was with pasta or covered in cheese, i had a ceaser salad, no bacon, no egg (idont eggs), no crutons, no anchovies. When the meal arrived it had bacon, i ate some of it :( and it came with toasted bread instead of crutons i also had a slice of the toast yum :( but oh well today is a new day.

EVERYONE HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY, SAFE AND SUCCESFUL WEIGHT LOSS NEW YEAR :) :) :)
