hi everyone big milestone for me I mowed my lawns and did the edges front and back didnt think I could do it but losing my weight has helped, couldn't do it before no way so I am so pleased with my effort as my lawns at the front are quite steep. Might have missed the odd blade of grass but so what I did it myself.

myshy congratulations on your exams its great achieving your goals.

lmr envious of your latte would kill for a hot chocolate refeed sounds like it is going to be great after what we can't eat after all this time.

mel 5 litres of water no way could I drink that much but since starting cohens my nightly numerous trips to the loo have stopped very surprised by that especially considering how much water I do drink.

Joysey really having fish all day you really think it will work might try it have been having grilled tomato and mozz. cheese for breaky been alternating that and egg tom. and mushies. Found my weightloss has been going well since started having more variety.

casey I too have heaps of weight to lose but I figure nearly 27 kilos lighter now is better than what I was. So many of my friends have commented on my weightloss but they cant seem to get started they come up with so many excuses the best is from my girlfriend saying I just got my chrisco hamper have to eat that first.

Moni a belated happy birthday hope it was great and I too look at my weightloss in 10 kilo lots.

Well xmas is nearly upon us and even though we have had such a sad year I am looking forward to it, I just love doing all the cooking and having my family around and the noise and kids its really worth waiting for every 12 months don't you think?

Have a good weekend everyone and stay positive Di

Damn parties!!

I just had the most tormentfull time at my cousins Baby Shower, there was ONE ofther girl in the room who was great than a size 12!

And they were ALL eating like they had never been fed, I haven't seen that many G-stringed bum cracks in hipster denims since the last time Myer had a shoe sale!

But I stood fast, I took my half Mango for my afternnon snakc and drank lots of water, said no to the smoked salmon baguettes, and my aunts world famous club sandwiches, even declined the chilli and tuna dip.

I had to leave though when they bought out the pavlovas and the cheesecakes.

corporate catering for me is I can take it or leave it, but the home cooked stuff, it just kills me saying no.

Christ, today was hard.

anyway, off to the movies tonight to spoil myself while the other half goes out with the boys to drink Guiness.

Girls hope you have had a good Saturday and a better Sunday.

imr, I think more than anything, reintroducing carbs such as Pasta, Noodles and Rice will be really hard.

I know about 6 weeks ago I had a piece of toast when I was at the hospital with mum, I felt tired, and drained, I felt so strange, I also got really bad heart burn. Very strange reaction.

Anyhoo, keep us posted Miss Refeeder, you can be our motivation to get there, you will also have nutted out the good recipes before we get there :)

Hi Everyone,
Cryss - You crack me up! You did really well though - Pavlova is the best. I have my dad's 8oth next week and we are having a party at my house. I've told my mum not to bring a pav (she makes the best) and have ordered a cake I dont like as much. I put a veto on people bringing chips unless they are plain ones - I couldnt resist if they were salt n vinegar.

LMR - I think the refeeding will be nerve racking. I love my pasta and rice.

Missysmum - good on you for getting out and doing the lawns. Every little bit helps!

Hi all,

How is everyone, you all are doing so well.

Does this happen to anyone else? I write my reply and when I go to submit, it tells me I have not logged on and then I lose my post and I have to start again!!!! I'll try again.

Myshy - congratulations on passing your exams. You worked hard to achieve this. Now the pressure is off, you can relax....

Missys-mum - great milestone on mowing your lawns and congratulations on your weightloss. Hope all is well with your family. Thinking of you.

Cryss - you should be so proud of yourself and have shown great strength not to be tempted by those horrible foods at the baby shower. They are all evil and we can live without them!!! :) Hope the movies are good. What did you watch?

Hope you all have a good night. :D

Saturday nigth at the movies!

great night had with a girlfriend, saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Very good for those of you who like that kind of movie.

I loved it, at home, going to bed, very hungry today for some reason.

need to drink more water me thinks.

Really tough day today.

thanks for all your support girls, today you have been worth your weight in Haighs Chocolates! no no I meant GOLD, not chocolate, bad Cryss!

Hi Everyone, great to hear from you all.
Missy-Mum: I bet you felt better after doing those lawns, it is so good to get outside even thought it is tiring.

IMR: I can't even understand what the feeling will be like being able to put a bit of pasta in your mouth. I have been so dedicated over the past 62 days and haven't broken once. Accidentally licked my fingers the other night when cooking dinner for my husband so quickly grabbed a paper towel and wiped my tongue, YUK, it tasted terrible......Just habit even after this long.

MYSHY: You already look like a super model so you are going to look like a super super model once you are down to 57kgs. Do you mind me asking how tall you are.

CRYSS: You make me laugh, what a great sense of humour you must have. Glad you went to the flicks and had a good time. I am also in Melbourne if you want to catch up for a cuppa one day.

RAJAH: I actually copy and paste into word as I go along and then when it is finished just paste it back into here. That way when it is submitted you can just delete it from word. Yes, It has happened to me a few times especially when you go back on pages.

Oh with the eating the fish that I told you about, I have done it for 4 full days now, first day lost 600g, second day lost 250g, third day lost 550g and fourth day 100g. Total of 1.5kgs in 4 days. You can see it has a limited life span of about 4 days before it slows back down so now I will go back on to chicken and meat for a few days and then back onto the fish again to see if I can pump up the loss again. I would just love to be down to 65kgs by Christmas morning but there is only 20 days to go, god I haven’t even put up the tree yet. Christmas won’t be the same this year without dad so please remember everyone, love and appreciate your parents as much as you can because I can’t tell you what it feel to loose one of them, some of you will already know but I guess Christmas just won’t be the same.
Any way enough of that, take care of yourselves and don’t forget to indulge in that water and drink yourselves silly.
Best wishes everyone, JOY

Stayning strong.

3 days wiyhout breaking.

I am going to try and have fish for my 3 meals because i really need to get back on track and be down to 90kgs by christmas. I got on the scales today and i am at 95kgs. I have put on a kilo with all the breaking i have done lately. I am really disgusted in myself. I could be close to 80 by now if i hadnt broken.

I can't wait for Chez to come tomorrow as i really feel the need for encouragement.

"And they were ALL eating like they had never been fed, I haven't seen that many G-stringed bum cracks in hipster denims since the last time Myer had a shoe sale!" OMG Cryss, I just couldnt stop laughing at this one!!....

Good on ya for staying strong, I don't know if I could.

Myshy - congrats on passing all your exams.. btw, what were you studying????

Missy-mum - well done.. Don't you love the energy that we have, well I had before I broke. I am determined not to anymore!

Can anyone offer me advice to help stop the cravings for Carbs??? I didn't have them before I broke, now I can't get rid of them...

Mel, thanks heaps.

MEL, Another thing I was wondering was, can you upload photos into the text box? If so I was wondering for those people who are on their refeed or close to goal, would you mind posting some before and after pictures so you can inspire us even more?

Yes you can put pictures in your text box. When posting a reply, towards the bottom of the screen under the section called 'Additional Options', theres an option called 'Attach Files'. You can upload the files straight from your PC.

Bring on the progress photos if anyone has them! I'm sure they would be very inspirational to all of us.

Progress Pics

Although Im not yet on the re-feed & have only been on Cohen's for 4wks, I just thought I would shove myself in the deep water and post my progress photos. The first shot is about 1yr ago, whilst the 3 others have been taken in the last month. (thats if they show in the order I uploaded them!). Agh! This takes courage to put these up, but what the heck! Battle of the bulge is on.... and looking at older pics of myself gives me the courage I need when thinking of breaking the cohen's program.

Dont Go To Kfc Or You"ll Get Roadraged

Hi everyone! I was having a lovely day until Mick,Kasey and I called into KFC to get some lunch for them and this crazyman started beeping at us to move as we were looking at the menu, so I give him the bird well he followed us and wanted to fight he pulled up beside us and asked Mick to get out and fight. Whats the world coming to I just took off as I didnt want Kasey to see this sort of violence,it makes you think what a miserable person he must be if he has to look for that in his life.
On a more postive note I cant wait to meet Kim tomorrow and have our cohens morning. I couldnt help weighing today and im 90.9kg, I had curried prawns for dinner am getting addicted to zuchinni and curry. My photo is up thanks to the wonderful help of Cryss:) Thankyou! That photo was taken a few years ago and it looks like i have short hair but i dont i have really long hair. Will have to buy a digital camera for xmas so I can post some before and after pics too. Lunchtime so off to have some more curried chicken. See ya Chez

New to Cohen's

Hi there, I have just spent a couple of hours reading all the posts - really so encouraging! I signed up last Wednesday, had my blood tests on Thursday and I pick up my program next Friday the 9th of December...I can't wait, I am so inspired by everything I have read...
I am 43, am 173 cm tall (5'8") and weigh 99kgs...I think my Cohens goal will be around 69...I haven't been that weight since I was 30! I am very determined to do this, for the sake of my health more than anything else.
Congratulations to all of you for sticking to this and for inspiring others to follow in your footsteps. I know Christmas may not be the best time to be starting something like this, but I figured I could always come up with an excuse not to start. So it will be a different Christmas for me this year, but now I know I am not alone!

Mel, You look awesome!!! I will find my photos and post them up.

Chez, don't you just hate road rage, There is no need for it at all... I hate impatient people.
I am a driving instructor so I get road raged quite often. I would have been scared if he came up to me and wanted a fight.

You know that you can take their number plate and report them to the police.

Perthmum - welcome aboard. You have time to join the Santa sleigh to be a secret santa. If you would like to join, please email, kimpietrini@bigpond.com

The only thing I can suggest to you, Perthmum, don't break cause if you do, its very very hard to get back on the wagon. Also, I know they suggest to drink 2-3 litres of water, drink at least 4. Start now cutting back on your carbs and start to drink more water. It helps with the detox and you don't get as bad as a headache.

Guess what, another day without breaking for me!

Mel has started something!

Hey girl,

ok here goes, nothing like a bit of a progress shot to give you a boost.

I'm going to take some new ones tonight to see the difference.

but here goes!!

get ready girl, this is not for the faint hearted!

They are titled Fat Face, 140kg front 140kg side, the other two were from about 8 yrs ago. It's kills me to see what I have done to myself :(

HI girls,
Both cryss and mel look fantastic.......... Well done.

well, do you think it would matter if i had christmas day off my program?
I have not broken in 5 and1/2 weeks so I don't know weather to or not.

I will be away and won't have cooking facilities, has anyone had the chicken salad lunches from Mac's. Do you think that it would be ok to have those for the 2 days?

anyway still plodding along.

Hope everyone has been good.

Xmas Day

hey girls,

I know this is a bit of a worry for me at the moment too.

So I have decided to eat Cohen style foods (protein and veg/fruit/salad), but not weight them and not be all arrgghh on the timing, I figure it will only take a few days of no vita wheats and fish meals for me to get back in the swing. Also believe it or not, I think alot of us might feel a bit sick if we all of a sudden started eating fried things and things with sauces and stuff.

What does everyone else think?

Also I desparately need some hints on how to increase my water intake, girls I hardly get a litre down some days :(

Moni, the two what I consider good shots are from about 6-8 yrs ago, I have nearly doubled in size since they were taken :(

Cryss, instead of drinking out of bottles, get a small glass, the smallest you can find and drink it regularly, as soon as you empty it, fill it back up again. You will be surprised how quickly you get through the water.

Also, try to break as little as possible. I have found it hard to get back into the swing of things. My mum who is on the program broke but ate maccas chick salad without the cherries or whatever they are and she didnt put on any weight.

I NEED AT LEAST ONE MORE VOLUNTEER TO BE A SECRECT SANTA TO MAKE IT EVEN. Carolyn and Chez, are you going to be in the secret santa as well because I haven't got any details you as yet.. eg, postal address, likes hobbies things you like collecting. Please Please Please join up. Perthmum, feel free to join us in secrect santa.

Hello Everyone,
Wow - what a lot of posts! This is fantastic. I just love reading through how everyone is going.

Perthmum - Hello & welcome :)

Mel & Cryss - Thanks for posting your pictures. I'll try and drag up some, but I have had a blanket rule about anyone taking photos of me for the past few years so it might take a day or so.
For my old job I had to have a photo taken to go into the local phone directory. I spent all morning trying different hairstyles etc ----anything to make me look slimmer. Anyway, photos were taken and I didn't get to see the proofs before they were submitted. The phone books were distributed to all 280,000+ homes where I live and when I got mine I just cried and cried. It was humiliation on the grandest of scales. They had chosen a headshot which was also a closeup. It is just horrible.

Cryss - I keep my water bottle handy at all times and even have a spare one for in the car. It's amazing how much water you can get through just driving around each day. I also keep my water at room temp. I find if the water is from the fridge, I don't drink anywhere near as much.

Joysey - The photo that is up is an old one where I am close to goal weight. I also had a great hairdresser at the time. I'll try and update, but as you can see - I avoid cameras like the plague. I am 167cms tall.

Rajah - I lost a few posts too. Now I always make sure I have logged in before I start and I read through the posts, jotting down anything I want to say. That way you don't have to go back pages. This is a killer for losing posts.

Healthymum - I am doing a Bachelor of Arts studying mainly Criminology and Public Relations. Have been doing it for what seems like forever, but I only do it part time. I did start of doing Psychology, but didn't enjoy the subjects very much and I found after my last baby was born prematurely, my focus changed and I decided that Psych was not for me.
You can take a vitamin supplement for the carb cravings. I use Centrum (which has Chromium in it) which has worked really well for me. Before Cohens I had to have chocolate everyday. I don't miss it at all now and find that I am not even looking for something savoury either (which means potato chips). I think the other girls have something they take too - I know you can get Chromium in a tablet form, but I'm not sure what price they are.

Moni - I have thought about having the chicken salad a few times and was tempted to actually weigh one out. Bear in mind you will need to weigh some raw chicken (your portion) and reweigh it after it is cooked to give you an idea of where you are. You can also ask them to use normal tomato instead of cherry tomatoes and don't forget to ask no cheese!

I am not too worried about Christmas - we don't go overboard with food anyway. By downfall will be on Sunday (my dad's 80th) and on the 30th - my daughter's 14th. No doubt there will be cakes and goodies and if it's there - I'll have a nibble.

Has anyone else noticed they bruise easily since starting the diet? I seem to be coming up in big black bruises and that is really unusual for me.

My clothes all look terrible on. I had to borrow a pair of tracksuit pants from my daughter to go walking in tonight - and I noticed that my undies kept creeping down as well. I want to hang off for the Christmas/January sales before I get some new stuff.

Thats about it for today I think. Hope everyone is well.

Myshy :)

Hi to all just a quick post, I feel so motivated this last fortnight my weightloss has been great will definately be on track for xmas to lose my first 30 kilos in 18 weeks if not a little more .After mowing the lawns which I still cant believe I did thats the first time in maybe 25 years (always had a man around to do it for me), not any more and waiting for my son to do it forget it, has given me so much more confidence which I needed.

myshy I am to getting heaps of bruises really big ones just went off and had a big blood works done even had a clotting test down as the doctor was so concerned. She also said a blood test every 4 weeks was a load of rubbish especially since its basically a kidney function test. But I cant explain the amount of bruises I am getting. I know it will come back that I am anaemic always am and my cells are a funny shape and she will send me for more tests and I will say thats normal for me . Thats the trouble when u swap doctors.

Hope everyones weekend was a good one and my stars are have been great the last 2 weeks as well. SO what is everyones star sign.I am aries.

Till next time Di
