Re: tickers

go to http://www.tickerfactory.com/WeightLoss/weight_loss.php?type=3

Grow through the pages and select your ruler and your slider.
Then enter your details, under TRACK, select weight not weight change.
Once done you will see another page that shows your ticker.
Scroll down until you see the box BBCode.

I find it easier if you select from then copy
The on the this site go to User CP at the top of this page
On the left side panel you will see a heading, edit signature
Paste your ticker into this section.

If you don't select from the outside of [img to the end of /img], your ticker will not work.

Any questions or problems, email me.

On a sour note... I broke again!!! I hate myself when i do this... why do i do this?? why can't I get back on track......

NAT - well done!!! sorry i saw your post after I posted...

Keep up the great work.... and remember try not to break.. it is sooo hard to get back on track.

Carolyn,

I think we need need each other. I broke again today.... I can't wait to meet up... Please call me if you are tempted. I need to jump online and send you a message I think.

Well done on your loss so far.

Hello to you all fellow Cohen-Gals!

And thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts.

I'd love to hear Kim suggestion about water, because amongst other things, I can't get through the water.

At night I feel quite hungry, although I'm not sure if it is hunger or boredom, I didn't realise how much time I spent in the throws of food, shopping, preparing, snacking, eating and then sitting because I felt so bloated. So the impact was considerable each evening.

I'm in for my second weigh in next Monday, which I am very excited about.

I did miss my first blood test though, but I lost a good amount so I am not too concerned.

Breakfast for me is a mini omelet with mushrooms and onions, lunch I am trying to always have something hot, as the salad really never feels like it fills me up.

Chilli and balsamic vinegar have been my best friends through this whole thing, and that soup idea sounds like a plan!

If anyone would like to catch-up I'm in Melbourne and attend the St Yarra Clinic, I'd love to hear from someone local when I get in a rut and head for the BREAD (my weakness) if you can make a sandwich out of it, or cover it in pastry, I'll eat it!

*****I forgot to tell you all, this weekend I went to Queensland, and ....... I GAVE BACK MY BELT EXTENDER! ... asking the size 8 stewardess for a belt extender, and then being able to give it back when I buckled myself up was AWESOME! only those who have had to ask for one would truly appreciate the zero embarrassment factor of giving it back*****

Thank you all once again and especially thanks to Kaseysmum, who found me.

Cryss- I'm so glad there are other Melburnians on this site! I also go to the SY clinic. If you ned to catch up with someone over a herbal tea/black coffee I'm sure that can be arranged :)

If you need to talk to someone when you feel the need to jump into Carb Country, feel free to email me and I'll send you my contact details.
And falling off the wagon is easy, getting back on is hard, staying on is harder but none of it is impossible.
I have fallen off a number of times, I don't beat myself up about it, I refuse to go backwards, I get straight back on.
This is going to be a very long journey for many of us, and I don't see myself sticking to this program gram for gram for the next year, we have to live and be happy, otherwise we will get down and that’s normally for me where I give up.

contact me any time, cryss1@bigpond.com

Hey everyone!!Im glad you found us too Cryss I didnt think that other forum was really happening and this one is so supportive and encouraging, CONGRATS on giving back the seatbelt extender I remember flying on Virgin to the Gold Coast this time last year feeling a bit snug in the seat weighing about 100kg at the time and its a good feeling hey, cos those flight attendants are all tiny. So Carolyn and Kim I will have to give you both a big kick up the bum, lol, I remember going through this stage the first time I did cohens and its like oh one bite wont hurt, but something ive learnt this time around is to stay in ketosis and lose the weight I dont want to be doing this any longer than I have to and the sooner its over with the better. You might think im crazy but ive been listening to this hypnosis cd for weightloss and I think its helping me cos your subconsious mind is an amazing tool. Congrats on your weightloss too Nat for the first week its just getting into the swing of things then its second nature. Another thing Im doing when shopping is to avoid the lolly and biscuit isle, cos I dont want to see what I cant have and believe me my worst enemies are in those isles. Oh yeah another thing for the newies on this constipation can be a problem with this diet and Joysey put me onto this its the best ever tea and one cup before bed makes you go to the toot in a hurry, some mornings ive gotta run. Ok too much information but just a little tip that might be useful. Ok off to hit the hay and tomorrows another day cant wait to hop on the scales in the morning. Ok Nighty night. :)

Kaseysmum,

thanks for the great words of wisdom, it means alot to everyone who is just starting off.

Can I ask how you maintain Ketosis, I know I was for the first week or so, then all of a sudden it just never came back, not sure if it is beacuse I shifted a piece of fruit to after my evening meal.

If anyone would like to share a typical food day with me I'd appreciate it.

Hi Everyone,

Danpoll - 28 kg lost! How wonderful, you must be so pleased.

Kayseysmum - I am 167cm tall and Cohens set my goal weight to be 57-62kg. I am happy to play it by ear but I was 57kg years ago and I was just too thin. I didn't look healthy and was always being accused of being anorexic. That may have been because I lost muscle as well and this time I am not - but I am thinking that around 60kg will be a nice weight for me.

Cryss - You can buy Ketostix from the chemist. They are around $6.00 and can help you monitor whether or not you are burning fat. Congrats on not needing the belt extender. It's moments like that that help carry you through the low days!

How are the ladies on the refeed going? I am interested in how you are coping now with some flexibility.

My stress levels for exam results(due Friday) are very high and so I have been having 2 licorice bullets (usually while I read this forum) as my 'treat' every day. I am hoping that I can drop this after this week.

I only have one complaint............my weight is coming off my waist and apparently nowhere else! :D My pants are falling down and yet I still need a larger size top for my fat arms. I wish we could be specific on where it comes off :)

HI EVERYONE,

YOU ARE ALL DOING VERY WELL.

WE ALL REQUIRE MOTIVATION AND THIS GROUP IS ALL THAT AND MORE.

A BIG THANK YOU.

CAN I SURJEST SOMETHING, I KNOW IT WILL WORK FOR ME.

I THINK IF WE SHARE WITH EVERY ONE OUR CURRENT WEIGHT AND OUR GOAL BEFORE CHRISTMAS THIS JUST MAY HELP WITH OUR MOTIVATION.

I KNOW THAT I NEED PEOPLE TO KEEP TELLING ME WHAT MY GOAL IS AND I KNOW I WILL MAKE IT.

SO I WILL START: I STARTED MY PROGRAM ON THE 28TH OF OCTOBER AND WEIGHED 143 KGS( I DIDN'T SEE MYSELF TO BE THAT BIG IN THE MIRROR), MY CURRENT WEIGHT IS 127KG, I HAVE LOST 16KGS IN 4 AND 1/2 WEEKS. MY GOAL FOR CHRISTMAS IS TO BE UNDER 120KG.

I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU WOULD ALL REMIND ME OF MY GOAL.

IF ANY ONE WOULD JUST LIKE TO TALK ONE ON ONE PLEASE EMAIL ME ON tasmonty_au@yahoo.com.au
IF YOU HAVE YAHOO MESSANGER EMAIL ME AND I WILL ADD YOU TO MY LIST.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE YOU ARE ALL DOING REALLY WELL.

My Goal

Hey Girls (and any menfolk out there),

I started Cohen 10/10/05 I weighed 139.6kg, one month later I weighed 129.3, I would like to be 110kgs on Christmas Day!

My next weigh in is Monday so I'll know then how hard I have to work.

have a great day

:)

Moni,
Great idea! My goal is not in terms of weight but is...................

'To go into the pool with my son when we go swimming'

(He is 2 1/2 and I have never been in the pool with him)

Goodmorning everyone!!!Update on weight cos im scale hopping to keep me motivated at the moment 92.5kgok my stats are starting cohens January this year weighing in at 101kg got down to 78kg went off plan back up to 95.8kg now back on plan ready to get to goal of 68kg,cohens set my weight at 61 to 64kg but I couldnt go that low as Im solid framed Im 35 yrs old and dont want to be a stick just a healthy weight within the bmi and live long to see my kids grow up and be parents so they can get payback for being little shits to me.ha ha. Cryss I just follow the plan to a tee like the 5 hour rule and drink 4.5 litres of water a day but like Michelle suggested the ketostix you can buy at the chemist but I had a look for some and they were $17. Moni dont forget your goal for xmas you can do it too we all can you just have to have the right mind set, I think anyway cos when I did this plan the first time it was like sitting in the dentist chair getting a tooth pulled because I dont think I was ready to commit to it but now I am and cos I think im more positive about doing it its working better for me. And when I get a weak moment and want something I think I dont want to go out of ketosis make myself a strong black coffee followed by a diet coke and lots of water and by then that moments gone and done with. For inspiration a guy in Perth lost 120kg or so in 10 months doing cohens and my friend in Perth whos done cohens knows him so I always think of him as inspiration and just get on with it. Hi Casey 1 more sleep is it?? You go girl!! We will be thinking of you. Goodluck for you weighin Cryss Im sure you will do great. Ok better get off this computer and see what my 2 yr old is into. Keep drinking the water everyone and dont lose sight of your goal. Chez:cool:

Ok firstly, what is Ketosis????

Cryss - congrats on handing back the extender.. you must have felt on top of the world...
Thanks for the offering of emailing you.. I definately will take you up on that.

CHEZ - Im bending over already waiting.. but so good so far today.. My bad time is from 2.30 onwards. you may get an email.

Yesterday - 93.1kg today 92.5 = 600g. Good going.

OK - here are my stats.

I started Cohens on the 6th october weighing 106kgs.

At last weigh in I was 94kgs and had lost 41.5 cm. With the amount of cheating that ive done i will be happy if i just don't register a gain. A loss will be a miracle in its self.

I will be weighing in again this sunday as I only do my weighing in and measuring fortnightly now.

Hi All,

An update on Secret Santa. So far I have 7 people interested in doing Secret Santa.

It is open to all on the forum and remember that the maxium amount you are allowed to spend on the present is $10.

I know there are few more that would love to do it... Come on ladies, the more the merrier. We all need rewards for our hard work.

For the new ones that haven't contacted me, when you send the email to kimpietrini@bigpond.com to say that you want to participate, maybe just include your age (or an age range) and some of your hobbies and favorite things so the person who buys you the present has some idea what to get you.

thanks all in advance for jumping on board the santa sleigh.

Cheers Kim

Hi Everyone,

Can't write much at the moment as we are about to head out to another dinner. I am getting so scared about all of these dinners, this fortnight is going to be terrible! Dinner last night, tonight, Saturday and three more next week. All of them I can't get out of or take my own food. I'm just going to try to eat the things I can eat on the program.

Quick update... my weigh-in yesterday was great! Lost 3.5kgs, so total loss is now 13kgs in 6 weeks. Currently 105kgs, really want to get into the 90's by Xmas. Goal weight would be 65kgs, don't think I've been that weight ever!!!

Love reading everyone's posts and successes, you're all amazing!
xxx

Ketosis

"Is what happens when your body burns fat. Ketones are molecule fragments that are released into the bloodstream when fat is burned."

Basically I think it works like this ...

Normally when we eat larger amounts of carbs than proteins we burn the sugar in the carbs - result we get fat - why?- because while our body is burning sugar for energy/fuel we are storing the fat that has been consumed as part of the meal.

Now ... the theory is (and I have seen it work) if you reduce the number of carbs you eat with a protein, there is not enough sugar to create the required amount of energy it takes for us to function, so your body starts burning FAT (oh we love that!!) how we recognise that we are buring FAT and not SUGAR is by measuring the Ketones in our urine.

You can do this with Ketostix, every morning pee onto the stick, the idea is to keep it balanced in the middle of the strip, too many ketones can negatively impact your body, Diabetes basically.

This to date is what I understand about Ketosis, if anyone else has a different version maybe we should share :)

All I know is that when I see those Ketones I know I am burning FAT and not sugar from my fruit or vegetables.

My goal for Christmas day is 105kg. I started Cohens on 4/11/05 at 125kg, and to date I have lost 10kg which has taken me just under 4wks. I've lost just under 32cm in total to date. All my pants are heaps baggy, I'm lovin it - can't wait till they completely just fall off me!

To all those attending upcoming xmas partys - remember to stay focused and try your best to stick to the foods we're allowed. Go for seafood & salad and remember......no alcohol!! I plan to take a 2 cans of my caffeine free diet coke in my handbag *sneaky*.

Has anyone tried the baked apple receipe? I tried it the other night and it is yummy!
