By Devine right.

Those tires due to my weight? You calling me fat? Haha. Do you think I should change them now? I was more worried about the stock wheels holding their own. I am loseing weight steadily but I have a long way to go until I am back to my goal of a built 200.

If they are the standard 23mm tires and you are riding them at their max of 120psi, then you are probably overloading the wheels and the tires, regardless of whether your 280lbs is 90% muscle or 90% fat. Most wheels are designed for up to about 220 lbs, but there is a built in safety cushion. I would keep a close eye on them and have them checked by your local bike shop, preferably the one where you bought the bike, on a regular basis. Ask the local bike shop if they recommend you going to a 25mm or even a 28mm tire that can better handle your weight.

If you give me the brands and models of your tires and wheels I can offer more insight.

Okies, I was going to go for a ride this morning at 6:30, but I am sitting here with a crazy crick in my neck from sleeping in a way that shouldn't be possible. Waking up with you head at a 90 degree angle is odd. I am instead heading out to meet my wife at the inlaws earlier than. This is fine with me since the weather here is awesome and I am lookig foward to taking a ride along the shoreline near Sandy hook and then heading through Red Bank. I will be taking it easy now that G8R80 has me paranoid that I will be taco'ing my wheels and killing pedestians with tire shrapnel. But the fresh ocean air will be nice. The bonus this wekend is that my Father in Law is giving me his 93 HD Sporster. I do have a newer bike .... bt a 93 HD is still manlier than a 06 Honda Rebel LOL.
