Weight-Loss Breakfast - what do you have?

Weight-Loss
What do you have for breakfast?

Do you even eat breakfast? If you do, is it junk or actually good food?

I have a fruit smoothie - usually a banana blended with 2 fresh oranges. 30 minutes later, I have a small bowl of Cheerios for the fiber. No sugar.

Greek yogurt and blueberries or steel cut oats and blueberries every day during hte week.

On weekends I might have an omelet or pancakes with fruit.

some random mixed porridge of oats, rye, quinoa, buckwheat and such and a very large cup of very black coffee. But yeah... that really fills me up, warms me up and makes me good to go.

3 slices of bread, either with cheese, ham or something similar. 1 cup of coffee. That's it.

I wish I could have something like yogurt with fruit, but it doesn't seem to do the trick, if I do that, I'm hungry again an hour later. :(

On days with a later lunch, I drink water water water. It gets me through. That or the protein is keeping me sated longer. idk really.

I think that's why I have the oatmeal + the yogurt. Although I add fiber to the yogurt and I get Greek yogurt which is a lot higher in fiber, and the only sugar is from the fruit.

Some days I just have the oatmeal though, and then I snack on soy nuts.

Regular yogurt doesn't cut it for me. It's thin and not a lot of protein and usually loaded with sugar or artificial sweeteners (or sugar).

I eat Greek yogurt (specifically Fage brand) or my homemade yogurt. It's much thicker, has about 17g of protein per serving, and sticks with you much longer than a 6oz container of Yoplait or something like that.

If I ate 3 pieces of bread for breakfast, I would never lose weight. I'd also be starving shortly after that. :)

I know a lot of people who have a sandwich or something like that for breakfast - a slice of bread and turkey or ham or cheese ... or some combination. There's no rule that says you have to limit yourself to "breakfast foods" in the mornings. Heck, I often have omelets or frittatas for dinner, too.

I'm hardly ever hungry in the morning. More often than not I'll make some sort of smoothie with frozen fruit, milk, yogurt, protein, peanut butter, etc.

I have organic porridge oats that i soak overnight in some water and then i mix a little soy milk light to it....and i usually sprinkle a few organic blueberries over it for the antioxidants and some seed mix. Sees me through til about 11.30am. I never touched organic til recently until i read the s**t that goes into what the majority of the population consider normal "food" ....its very interesting. :)

Usually, an omlette with egg beaters, usually some sort of meat like diced ham, half an onion, cheese and or mushrooms, 3 strips of turkey bacon and a few slices of tomato. Of course, with lots of hot sauce. In all, on average, 550-625 cal. my bmr is ~2172, so that works for me.

I've noticed that if I frontload my calories, It tends to control my hunger for most of the day.

One cup of oatmeal cooked, the old fashioned way, stovetop in a pot, with one teaspoon of honey and skim milk.

Every day, day in day out. I'm a boring sort of guy.

Weight control Quaker Oats Oatmeal or Special K. It works for me. I'm usually not hungry until 11 and I eat breakfast at 8am.

Have to point out, they are small slices of dark bread, totalling 120 calories. Forgot to mention that I usually add a piece of fruit as well, plum, apple or the likes. I never used to eat breakfast, but would be starving hungry by lunchtime, and then have way too much. Now I make myself sit down, take a bit of a time out, and actually pay attention to what I eat. It's nice.

Bread - what kind

For those of you who eat bread, what kind do you eat.

Please list the brand and why you eat it.

I like 100 whole grain breads made with flaxseed, etc.

I don't eat just one type of bread. I'm not sure I understand the question or the reason for it.

I eat whole grain bread (usually whatever is on sale) for just "regular" use ... like sandwiches, etc.

Other than that the bread I buy just varies with what I'm eating it with. We have a decent bakery and I'll get anything from baguette to sheepherders loaf to focaccia to ... whatever. Just what appeals, what is fresh, and what goes with my meal.
