Hey team,

I am just wondering is anyone up for having little challenges within our team... just to help us along even more? I don't know... I like challenging myself.... but if I'm doing it with someone else, it makes things even better !! It's much more worth it ! hahaha Anyways, anyone got any ideas, or is this a horrible idea?

I have a challenge....

How about from 1-7 to 1-15 NO EATING OUT?

That is my biggest problem! Game?.. I mean nothing fast food, including foutain drinks, french fries, subway... nothing.

I think we need an exercise challenge too. Any ideas
 
How abt an exercise challenge I like thoise - accomplish so many miles or somethign like that...30 minutes is a mile and have a number to reach or something
 
I like that idea of no eating out one ! Although then again I don't eat out a lot, I live 15 mins out of town and go into town maybe 3 times a week ! but yea ! I'll definitely do it !!

And as for exercising... I like the idea of that too ! I think it'd be easier to set a goal of how many miles we want to go... time isn't the best factor... I jogged today and figured out it takes me 6 minutes and 40 seconds to get half a mile...I'm PATHETIC !! My fiancee's sister is in wicked shape and she can do a mile in 10 mins or less ! how not fair...BUT!!

because she is also in some wicked training because she plays hockey, she told me that you burn the same amount of calories whether briskly walking or jogging... it doesn't really make a difference... so to me the distance is what is important... but yea ! Eventually I want to beable to job 5 miles without to much of a problem...but I am still FAR away from that !! hahaha
 
So anyways, I don't know what everyone is doing for their own individual work out... but is it fair to say everyone can walk or has a tredmill ?

How would you like to say we aim to walk 21 miles in one week...that's 3 miles a day... or we could do something that is less challenging but something that would be more accomplishable, and less to break one's spirit...yet then again why would it be a challenge? we could always go with 14 and say 2 miles a day of walking... THEN again, that may take up too much time for some... I don't know what people's schedules are like ! I know I can pretyt much only work out when my boy goes down for a nap unless I do it after my hubby gets home...which normally doesn't happen ! but I could make a point of doing it ! :)

Either way... I'm game for anything !!
 
alright... sorry for so many posts in a row... I am just really bored and not really tired... my hubby is gone to hockey and my kid is sleeping...like I should be !! but I just made up a chart... every day I have to fill it in, and it says my weight, miles, minutes exercised, sit-ups and Oz of H20 ... and I set my weekly goal at the bottom of it...I don't know if that interests anyone I just thought I'd mention it !! I don't know how well it will work out for me...but it will at least show me what I actually do during a week and what not ! I'm starting it on Sunday... it'll be fun !

How about an overall combined distance (walking, tredding, cycling, whatever) for the whole team 2! For example.... there are 6 or so of us, say maybe 200 miles next week between 1/8 and 1/15 weigh in. We all give are best and contribute to the 200 miles. I think that would be fun. We will all be helping out and trying to reach our goals!

What do you think?

(I walk, but sometimes I cannot get it in EVERY day... I probably average 10-12 miles a week.. But I can definately up the anti with some motivation!!)

I decided to do a to extend the challenge of no fast food for a week to the whole month for me personally. Fast food is evil no matter what spin you put on it.

Well thanks so much Jane for including me in this challenge! I know that I have missed the first week, but I am here now!

Monday 1st January= 193
Monday 8th January=192
Monday 15th January= 193 (my bday was last week, ate cake and all sorts of other crap!)
Monday 22nd January=
Monday 29th January=

Target Weight for the 8th= 190
Target Weight For the 15th= 188
Target Weight For the 22nd= 186
Target Weight for the 29th= 184

Overall weight loss target= 9lbs

I will do an official weigh in with everyone on Monday morning!

Hey everyone :) Sorry for not being talkative yet, my computer decided to die on me and so it took me a few days to get everything back to normal. I weighed in this morning and I lost 5 lbs!!! :) I'm beyond happy because I never had a scale to keep track of my weight, but now I have 2 just in case lol.

I haven't had the chance to start at the gym yet, so I decided to go out and buy some exercising dvds, a yoga mat, a dumbell set and then an altus exercising ball kit to get started with. So far the dvds have kept me intertained and I exercise from 30-40 minutes a day, and then go on a walk in the evening. I've also been eating a lot of grapes and grapefruit which is not normal lol, i rarely buy fruits i know that i should but it just don't come to my mind while shopping. But lately I've been craving fruit like crazy!! And 3 weeks ago I found the site hungrygirl from a link on here i think, and was disgusted about sunny d.. growing up i always thought it was healthy because of the vitamin c, but ew.. I like the taste but it always gave me a stomach ache and doesnt help my acid reflux, but since I gave it up, and started drinking water I feel a ton better in the mornings.

Anyways just wanted to give an update :) Oh yeah I have a question, maybe one of you lovelies can help me out. What vitamins should a 19 year old girl be taking? I really haven't found helpful info on it yet. hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction :)

It's weigh-in day!! Woo-hoo!!

I'm down the 2 pounds that I had set for myself. I wasn't sure I would get there 'cause I'm visiting with family, but it worked. We fly home today, so tomorrow is the end of my "sorta" healthy eating... back to the usual routine.
So, without any further ado, here's my number this week (in red):

Monday 1st January= 239
Monday 8th January= 237
Monday 15th January=
Monday 22nd January=
Monday 29th January=

Target Weight for the 8th= 237
Target Weight For the 15th= 235
Target Weight For the 22nd= 232
Target Weight for the 29th= 230

Overall weight loss target= 230 (lose 9 pounds)

I like the idea of a distance challenge, and I like the idea of a group one, too. I walk between 8-10 miles each week, but add a bit of distance every week since I'm building up endurance. I'm not sure I'd be a top contributor by any stretch of the imagination, but I would be willing to give it a go!

The whole team put in effort to accomplishing 200 miles !!

I really don't know how many miles I do a week because I often do a kick boxing video... I LOVE it ! It's only 12 mins of a work out per segment and I like to do 2 of them and then walk minimum a 1 mile ! but yea !! I could definitely go with that...I need to get my elliptical set up !! I can't wait for that !! YAY!

so is it good to say that for this week from the 8th(today) to the 15th(next Monday) we'll all try to contribute as much as we can to the 200 miles?

I think we can do it !

I am only 20 and I take women's vitamins...I look for something high in calcium, iron and vitamin C... I also have one with folic acid in it as well.. but that is mostly because I do plan on getting pregnant again... not until the end of the year though ! After the wedding ! haha :) but I don't know too much about vitamins but that has always done me well ! You should phone your doctor's clinic and see what they might have to say? There are women's weight loss vitamins too... you could always try those... but I think you pay wayyy too much for them...just be sure to compare the backs of the vitamins..to see what each contains...sometimes the less common (no name) brands have the same stuff and are a lot cheaper !
 
oh and heidi are you going forward with the no eating out !! oh and quick question, does hot wings count as eating out... a friend and me go once a month for us time... she has 4 kids and well I have only one...but yea... we are planning on going out this wednesday... I am sure I could reschedule if I needed !

I am doing strickly no eating out!... I think if you eat healthy stuff like salad, chicken breast, etc... it would be okay.

But yummy wings...mmmmmmmmm... i think that counts, unless you could get a hot chicken breast or something that is better for you. I think the wing is the fattest piece of chicken out there. But you could allow your self a cheat day! Its all up to you babe!

hey everyone !!

I've been MIA !! but apparently everyone else has been too !! I've had a terrible week with exercise... I mean shovelling. and cleaning my place front to back should count as something... we had blizzard weather up until yesterday but it was like -35 degrees celcius outside yesterday... it was cooold ! but I managed to get stuff in yesterday and today... is the big day I have scheduled to do 10 miles !! *scary*

I think our whole team challenge to contribute to 200 miles, I don't know how well that is going over... I don't see anyone saying how many miles they;ve put in !

Oh and the wing night... I caved... I only ate 10 instead of 20 this time around !! I looooooove hot wings... and it's my one date a month with a friend so I felt terrible but I haven't eatin out at all for the rest of the week... and I'll go an extra week without eating out too ! :) umm.. how's your no eating fast food going ?
 
I havent eaten out....yet! We are ordering pizza tonight because that is what my husband wants, but I am making something else for myself!

Only 10 wings instead of 20...hey, that is better then nothin!

I am not sure how this challenge is going... not much going on on this board! I keep track of my miles on my diary. So far not much, but this weekend I am going to kick some booty!
