Hi my name is Bob and over the years my weight has been like a yo-yo up and down. I have hit uncharted territory with my weight when I recently broke the 300lbs mark. In a couple of weeks I am going to start to challenge myself to lose the weight again. This will be my first time doing a diary and hope this will help with the journey. My goal is to lose 100lbs in a year. I intend to post my diet and exercise daily along with pics of my progress every other week so I can see the gradual changes. I am looking forward to sharing this journey and seeing everyone else's as we move closer to our goals.

Hey Bob, welcome to the forum!

I think you will find this place very helpful. I started here back in May and have managed to lose 42 lbs, and I am hoping that I lose something close to 100 lbs in my first year, we'll see. Point is its working for me, it should for you too.

It would help us if you could tell us more about yourself and your goals, things like your age, your weight and dieting history would help. Also do you have a diet plan now, or are you looking for one? And what about exercise?

You will find that this place does not advocate any one diet or approach. You can get help finding the right diet and approach here, but we are all different what works for one may or may not for another. Take a little time and look around at the diaries of others, don't hesitate to comment or ask questions. Most everyone here is friendly and wanting to help.

I can tell you that keeping this diary has really helped me a lot, I am hoping it'll help you.

Look forward to reading about your success!

Hi, Bob & welcome to the forum. I think it's a good idea to give yourself a little time to work out what you are going to do, set a date for it & then commit. We will be your support crew :)

Weight loss doesn’t begin in the gym with a dumb bell; it starts in your head with a decision.

Well the day has come, home from vacation and now it is time to get at it. My current weight is 309 pounds my goal is to drop a hundred pounds in a year. But mainly I just want to drop it and stick with it. I have lost weight in the past but never manage to keep it off but with crossed fingers and hard work this time just might be different. I plan on doing this by doing a low carb low fat diet. and eating 4 to 5 small meals. Also going to be doing cardio and weights starting slow at first working my way up. I am doing this diary mainly to keep myself accountable. I know I am the only one who can do this. I intend to post my diet and workouts daily to keep track of my progress along with some pics along the way to see my transformation. With that being said here is the lump of clay I am working with let see what I can mold it into.

Best of luck, don´t get discouraged when you mess up sometimes and just keep going.

Hey Bob, good to have before pictures.

It sounds like you have a solid plan, I think you will do well with it. I like the idea of 4 or 5 small meals a day, though I don't call it that my diet is similar. Small meals with snacks when I feel the need, sometimes the snacks are as big as the meals, all are small.

I look forward to reading about your progress!

I love your daily slogans! And things look like they're off to a good start. :)
(That's a lot of eggs, though - but I admit I'm not qualified to offer nutrition advice.)

No I live in town. My work scheduled can be pretty crazy so I try to plan my meals for the week and get it all at once. As for fresh vegetables not to often.

I was the same for many years, really until I started this diet. Now I try to eat vegetables and fruit whenever I can. I find it keeps me from feeling hungry without adding many calories. I probably eat as almost many pounds of food a day now as I ever did, the big difference is calories and that's due to the fruit and veggies. Helps keep me on track. You should give it a try, can't hurt.

Hi Bob welcome and congrats on a great first week. I second Rob and his advice of fresh fruit and veg ( or frozen) . Melons my saviour as they fill me up.
