Bike, Ski, Swim, or Lift?

Acupuncture went well - he burned moxa on the end of a needle for quite awhile to induce circulation and warm the joint. I go back Friday.

I went to the gym and rowed for half and hour and followed up with an intense core workout and some straightleg deadlifts. I'm trying to keep my hamstrings solid while I don't ride during the week. I'm hoping my knee will be ok for the weekend again.

just chuggin along eh! nice.

um... let the knee heal, if you can control yourself. I totally understand. I took 2 day soff just now and I feel like a slug.

Yah, I'm not riding riding this week, just sticking to swimming and rowing for cardio. I miss riding, it makes me cranky if I don't get to do it.

Some updates:

Thursday I mountain biked for about 2 hours and felt pretty good...2.5 for Saturday and 2 for Sunday. Saturday I had some knee pain for about 4 minutes and then it went away.

Monday - Swam a tad over a mile at lunch and then partied after work for Cinco de Mayo!

Tuesday was acupuncture day and then I went for a 1.5 hour road ride after work to keep my legs loose. Nothing intense really, just wanted to see how my knee felt.

Wednesday I swam a mile at lunch and mowed the yards after work. That's harder than a workout when you let the grass get as long as I did!

Happy Friday!

My bike ride to work was a bit cool - only 29 degrees yesterday morning! I got a quick 20 mile ride in at lunch yesterday. Loads of folks were out riding...it's that time of year. After work I rode to the gym and then rowed for about 20 minutes and did my core workout, a tad bit of upper body, and some deadlifts.

Today I have acupuncture again - more electrode stuff.

Wow, I've been doing a lousy job of updating this lately!

Saturday was mountain bike day and my legs felt pretty good. I am still experiencing discomfort in my knee but I wouldn't classify it as pain. I've decided to skip the 12 hour race next weekend since my knee is causing me grief, but I'm still going to ride some new trails Saturday and then race a Super D on Sunday (only about 30 minutes and mostly downhill).

I spent about 30 minutes rowing at the gym yesterday before doing my core workout. For some reason I had no motivation to swim last night so I skipped it and vacuumed our entire house instead!

My ride to work this morning was warmer than usual - it was 45 degrees out! I have to ride to my acupuncture this afternoon and then I'm doing a road ride tonight after work.

Rode about 26 miles after work last night - nothing big after having acupuncture on my knee in the afternoon. It was good to ride.

This morning my ride to work was uneventful, although the beauty of the snowcapped mountains on the horizen is always amazing.

Rode to the pool Wednesday and swam 2200 meters, then jumped on my bike and rode home. ZAPPED my energy.

Thursday I went for a nice 2 hour mountain bike ride after work to burn off some energy and carbs.

This morning I rode to work in unseasonably warm temps. It was almost 50 degrees! The ride home will be hotter since it's already 86.

Big mountain bike rides both days - total probably a bit over 6 hours. Hot weather - close to 100 Saturday and probably close to 90 Sunday. My ride to work this morning was even warm. Maybe I'll swim at lunch.

Nice day out! They are removing the tent from the outdoor pool so the sun can shine down on my while I swim away my life. I rode to the pool and got blazing hot, then swam a mile and rode back to work. Good workout.

Mountain biked for a couple hours after work. I pushed fairly hard for the hour long ride to the top of the helicopter pad and then FLEW downhill. Finished that lap earlier then I thought I would so I added more to make it over 2 hours.

Howdy, today I went to the gym at lunch. I rowed hard at 150+watts for 15 minutes, then did the elliptical for 10 minutes before I lifted. Mostly upper body and core work.

After work I went mountain biking for a little over 2 hours again. This time I pushed the pace and hit my higher zones. Good ride.
