Becki's Journal

Showing cancelled but looking into properties to show tomorrow.

I have been sitting in front of the computer looking for properties for two different clients for about 2 hours. I want to go hike but I am so far behind and I have to get to my townhome in Parker before this afternoon.

Today so far -
Multigrain cheerios, banana and milk
Black Coffee

No workout - hope to do a walk with daughter later.

~sigh~ back to work

Good luck and hope you get your walk. I would like to be a part-time real estate agent but haven't decided if I want to or not. I keep throwing the idea around.

Yesterday I ended up NOT getting to exercise.

I will not mention what I ate last night, nor will I mention what I ate today...

I plan to ride my recumbant later to burn off 500 calories. I'll be back on track tomorrow morning.

What a crazy weekend.

Sat:
Two egg whites, Tomato, Wheat Toast
Chicken Taco Salad - Lettuce, Grilled Chicken, Green Chili, Cheese
Smart ones Teriyaki Chicken bowl
Breyers light ice cream sandwich

Hiked up to Water shed (a mile or so up hill) and then rock hopped to a little place we call the cooler.

Today:
two egg whites, sliced tomatoes, wheat toast
1/2 french dip and a hand full of fries

Probably will have dinner with Jason when he gets home from Gunnison tonight. I wanted to hike but the rain will have washed out all the trails.

After setting up a few showings for tomorrow, I may ride the recumbant if I can - I got my butt kicked at work today so I'm exhausted!!!

I took a break... I got a bit discouraged. I was counting all my calories (read: guilt) and working out became a chore.

I love hiking, I love mountain biking. I love eating...

So I just stopped counting, started playing a bit, and took a breather.

I decided to stop worrying about calories and all that, and to stop eating meat for the remainder of the summer. We both feel a lot better when we're eating more fruits and veggies!!!

I started eating this way on Monday. I already feel better and my ride yesterday was great! Monday I had to run a management shift so my day was shot, Tues we had a full day at Elitches with a couple we like to hang out with (both their birthdays and their anniversary are within the same week). We ditched the kids and rode rides all day!!! Wed I was depressed and sat in front of the lousy TV for most of the day. Jason got home and pulled me out of it! Yesterday, FINALLY, I got out for a ride.

All week has been interesting finding foods that are vegetarian in nature, but healthy and not carb-heavy!

I am eating four or five light meals a day so I try to find small meals/snacks. One I like is cottage cheese and yogurt.

I'm up for suggestions!

Thanks all - oh yea, I already started losing weight - only a tiny move on the scale, 1 - 1 1/2 lb. I don't know exactly how but I hope it continues...

Glad you found yourself again. You need to do it your way and don't stress yourself out.

Don't know much about the vegetarian lifestyle, but isn't it mainly chicken, pork, fish, pastas, cheeses? Just look for those items and maybe somebody else can pick up where I left off on the food.

Congrats on the weight loss.

Thanks She!

It's a diet without meat so it's Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts, Grains, and I will keep eating eggs (eggwhites) and dairy products.

I love natural peanut butter - which is still higher in fat but lower in sat. fat. But I don't want to get my main protein from there - it's a pretty high fat diet that way. I eat egg whites a few mornings a week but can't handle them everyday. I like cheese but try to stick with lowfat mozzerella, and of course I drink milk regularly - especially in my skinny lattes (skim milk steamed, with espresso - no sugar, flavors or any of that syrupy junk!) and a ton of water!!!

I've been eating yogurt and cottage cheese, granola (higher in fat), or multi-grain cheerios with a banana, for breakfast. Lunch and snacks have been more or less salad/veggies, apple with peanut butter, or something along those lines. By the time dinner comes around, I'm up for soup or something a bit more 'hearty'. Then I'll have something that will 'stick to my ribs' to hold me over. last night it was broccoli and some mashed potatoes (no gravy) or butter.

We are gearing up for a 4day pack trip next week. My guy blew his knee three weeks ago hiking Uncompagreh (spelling?) and it's still up in the air as to how far we'll be going. But we have two 13-er's planned in the San Juans. I'll be taking my cliff bars and some fruit. Other than that I'll be looking for dehydrated vegetarian meals...

This weekend will be interesting at the Renaissance Festival. They have some amazing food. Then there's my friends 40th birthday party... I haven't felt like I'm 'giving up' anything so far. I think this will be a pretty healthy change for me.

I'm not going vegetarian for any belief system or conviction about meat products (except the belief that eating hormone fattened animals leads to hormone fattened people), just to get a bit of control over my body and to help my physical performance in the activities I enjoy!

If I can get my diet to an affordable vegetarian level (eating healthy is EXPENSIVE), then I can afford some free-range chicken and beef. For now it's about getting myself under control!!!

Sounds like you have it all worked out. Best of luck and let us know how it's going. If you find any good reciepes, let us know. I'm always up for something new.

I really like this way of eating - though I don't want to give up meat indefinitely. I feel a lot better physically (more energy, less sluggish). I have not dropped any weight. I think with my age (37), my metabolism, my schedule - it will take something a bit more drastic to lose weight.

I can't work out everyday. I do get out there at least 4 days a week - hiking, biking, etc. Two days a week I'm still serving and I come home totally whiped out. Once I bail on Serving, I'll add a couple more days of activity. When I'm showing property, tending to teens, dogs, two houses... Sometimes I'm totally overwhelmed. (Those days I don't even get past checking email or doing a home search for a client.)

anyway, I generally eat fruits and veggies, nutty breads, real peanut butter, and yogurt/cottage cheese. I eat less (am hungry less) than before, but am not losing weight...

On the upside my son and I ride trail 6 a couple of times a week. It is about 2 miles up from the trail head to the pond. Usually he totally leaves me in the dust and then waits when he's tired. Last week both days I was right on him. it was great! I think we were both surprised!

I don't know what to think about my bod. I don't feel better in my clothes - there are days I do, but in general I still feel like a lump.

Maybe this is just a bad day. We'll be heading to Crested Butte on Sat and riding like crazy for a couple of days. I'll feel great after that!

Np..we all have bad days, even I do..lol. No need to worry over it. It'll all be gone the next day.
