Backspace's Journal and image gallery!

I thought I would make a post here just to keep my diary alive.

TBh I’ve been struggling, Winter was tough training wise, I’ve managed to do atlest something once per week be it run or gym. My work has a gym which has been good.

I’ve suffered a range of injuries including knees, lower back, flu (twice) and others I can’t recall. But I’ve been able to come back. I think I still have a fair bit of the gains I made last year and I’ve kept my gut down. It’s been ballooning a bit recently due to a holiday.

I’m not sure which way to go, I’m thinking of taking up Jujitsu. There is a corporate challenge triathlon I might entre (400-15-) but its expensive and I’ll need three people to go in it with me.

My motivational levels are pretty low, but I am so much fitter than what I was, I can run for at lest 8km no drams now, without training constantly. Before there was no way I could do this!

I was also thinking today on my way to work, I knew nothing of diet when I started but I at lest know a lot more now so I can make good choices. I know that by having a pretty clean diet I can achieve the results I want. The results I want are not to be a machine just to be healthy.

However a part of me wants abs, and I know I’ll have to work hard for it.

I’m lucky as tsilcyc help me heaps and is very poatient when I don’t stick to the program. With Summer coming up I should be a lot better though and able to get back into the sprit of things.

Anyway that’s just me letting everyone know how I’m doing. This space really helped me a lot to keep motivated and accountable. I’m secretly thinking of training for a marathon too (but I don’t want to be skinny like a rake with no muscle).

Out.

I saw the kms and realised you were from Australia!

Maybe you need to get a training buddy or a PT for a little while to get your motivation up... lemme know what happens

Yes, I see you’re a fellow Aussie, glad to see some more Australian faces on here.

I’ve given myself the goal of a entering a new triathlon, which will help to keep me accountable. I have not locked in on a race yet but it looks like it’ll be around 22 Nov or 29 Nov. I'm feeling heaps more motivated now, thanks. I have an online Pt which helps me alot. This fourum also helped me so I will start reposting here.

On Sunday I completed a 6km run, and I went for a short ride the previous Friday. I’m waiting on my new program now so I’ll know more soon.

I may start reposting diet info here as it helps to keep me motivated. I would like to cut up for Summer! But trying to fit lifting, tri training together does not work out. Simply losing some of belly fat should work out for me though.

Hey Backspace, have you done many triathlons before?

And you play soccer? Do you follow the A-League at all? What do you think of Robbie Fowler over there? Has he been playing well?

Hi Typhoon.

I entered my first race earlier this year, a Duatlon. I had a problem with my bike (flat) but it was fun. I then trained for and completed a half marathon in 1hr 55mins. I’ve trained for number of running events over Winter but I had a range of injuries and personal setbacks so this will be more third event of the year.

Pretty sore today after soccer, thankfully tsilcyc said I don’t need to run twice on Wednesdays and my soccer can count towards the Wednesday run (Soccer does not count towards training days, its extra for fun). But TBH not sure how much soccer I’ll be doing with this group, its in the middle of the day and its hot. I prefer to play in the evenings. I’m just a social soccer player, and If I was to follow a team in the A league it would be Adelaide as I’ve seen them play Sydney before and I can’t go for Sydney.

I like the Women’s league, the Canberra team are really good you should check them out if your interested.

Where are you from, I sense you are not in Australia.

Also last night I had some Macca’s on the way home after mixing which was surely stored as fat.

Went for a swim yesterday, first for a while did better than I thought, I swap 200m non-stop and had to stop due to sore ears (I have an issue from scuba diving the GBR recently).

Anyway ear plugs.

The whole weekend was a write off due to being dragged down the coast by a mate for free.
